My biological father passed away a few days ago; what I need prayer for is whether or not I should go to his funeral services. He severed our relationship about a year ago and has made no effort to try to reach out to me. I feel I should go, but I also feel hypocritical going to pay respects for someone I really don't know or have a relationship with.

trust your feelings and go to your father's funeral. It is written to honor our parents. This is a possibility to do this commandment - do it for the sake of the Lord, no matter what was wrong in the relationship.

Lord, we pray that You bring healing to the heart of ### concerning his father. We pray that You be with him and give him Your peace. We pray for wisdom and guidance, in Jesus Name. amen

The only thing that I'm truly concerned about is his new wife and her family saying something to me. Without going into great detail his new wife is the reason that we didn't have a relationship. It's really complicated, but basically I'm really hurt at the way he just served our relationship like I didn't mean anything to him. It's like there's two people that are supposed to be there for you and support you no matter what and one of those people turned their back on me. Thankfully and praise be to God that I have an excellent mother and dad (step-dad).

I pray that you will go. Keep your time with his wife very brief and civil, just tell them you are praying for him.

Remember your father the way he used to be. I'll bet your father had some regrets about cutting you off before he died.

Look one year down the road....will you regret not going? You probably will.

I have prayed for this. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
