Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are carrying. It is understandable that you feel scared, overwhelmed and drained, and that you dread waking up in the morning. To watch someone you love struggle so deeply with her mind, to feel afraid in your own home, and to feel you can hardly function yourself is a very heavy burden. God sees you in this place and He sees your mum, and He hears your prayers.
There is a psalm where David cries out, when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I. At that time his heart was overwhelmed for good reason. His own son whom he loved had rebelled against him and sought his life, he had been driven from his home, enemies were pursuing him, and it felt as if everyone had turned against him. He did not know how to understand or handle what was happening. Yet that very trouble drove him to prayer, and in prayer the direction of his thoughts changed. What began with fear and uncertainty ended with confidence because he turned his eyes to God.
That same invitation is for you. When you cannot find strength in yourself, when circumstances are too much to manage, there is a Rock higher than you, steady and strong when everything else feels unstable. The Lord is our light and our salvation, and the strength of our lives, so we do not need to live in fear. Even when we feel overwhelmed, we can ask Him to lift us to that higher place and to sustain us. Scripture says to fear not and to be glad and rejoice, for the Lord will do great things. He has heard the prayers of those who trust Him and He gives them a heritage among those who revere His name. He is able to keep and sustain you even when you feel you have no strength left.
I am praying for you and for your mum. I am asking God to bring healing and restoration to her mind, to give her strength and peace, and to help her to rise each morning with renewed hope. I am asking Him to calm fear in your home and to replace dread with His presence. And I am praying for you, that God will give you rest, strength for each day, and the assurance that you are not alone. You do not have to carry this by yourself. Please reach out to trusted people around you, a pastor, a mature believer, and also to medical and counseling help who can walk with you and your mum in practical ways. God often provides support and wisdom through others.
May the Lord lift you to Himself as your Rock, quiet your heart with His nearness, and show His kindness and power in your mum's life. May He restore, comfort and guard you both, and give you grace for each morning as you look to Jesus Christ, who is our only hope and salvation.
