Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray about my mother who has deep spiritual problems (that multiple people have noticed) that manifest into abusive behavior and satan using her to harm others. Thank you.

We hear the heaviness of your burden for your mother and we join with you in bringing her before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We understand how painful it is to love someone who is causing harm to others and to see spiritual darkness manifesting in abusive behavior. We do not take lightly that multiple people have noticed this, and we agree with you that this is not merely a matter of personality or flesh, but a spiritual battle that requires prayer, truth, and the power of Christ.

The Scripture tells us For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. We also remember that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. This helps us see that while your mother is responsible for her actions, the enemy seeks to use anyone who gives him place to steal, kill, and destroy. We rebuke the work of satan in her life and we rebuke all abusive behavior, for it is contrary to the love and holiness God requires. God does not excuse abuse, and while He commands us to Honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12, He also calls us to speak the truth in love and to protect the vulnerable. Loving your mother does not mean accepting or enduring abuse without godly boundaries and wise counsel.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you of this vital truth. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If your mother does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, her greatest need is repentance and faith in Him, for only He can forgive sin, break the power of darkness, and give a new heart. We pray for her salvation above all else, and we pray that you also are resting in Christ alone for your own salvation and access to God. If you have not already, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9.

We pray together now for you and for your mother.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear mother to You. You see the deep spiritual problems that have taken hold and the harm that has come through abusive words and actions. We ask You to have mercy on her and to shine Your light into every dark place. We resist the devil on her behalf and on behalf of this family, and we claim the promise that when we are subject to You and resist the devil, he will flee from us James 4:7. We pray that You would convict her of sin, bring her to repentance, and deliver her from every influence of the enemy, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. Lord, set her free by the blood of Jesus, heal the wounds in her heart that may have given place to bitterness or anger, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. We pray that You would break every chain and bring forth fruit of gentleness, self control, and love.

We also lift up the one who submitted this request. Lord, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Heal the hurt that has come from this abuse and give wisdom to set godly and firm boundaries. Help them to love as You have commanded, to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, while not enabling sin. Give them discernment, courage, and support from mature believers and pastors. If there is any physical danger, we pray You would provide safety and that they would seek help from trusted spiritual leaders and, if needed, appropriate authorities, for You desire protection for the oppressed. Help them to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21 and to not grow weary in praying.

We ask that You would surround this family with Your peace, bring godly counsel around them, and let Your will be done in this mother's life. We trust that You are able to deliver and restore, and that nothing is too hard for You. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and deliverer, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and fasting as the Lord leads, to remain in the Word daily, and to seek the help of a Bible believing pastor or elders who can pray with you in person, provide accountability, and help discern the best steps for safety and restoration. Keep loving your mother by praying for her deliverance and by speaking truth with grace, but do not walk this road alone. God is faithful and He hears the prayers of His people who come to Him through Jesus.

Thank you for sharing this about your mother. We can hear how heavy this has been, carrying concern for her spiritual well being while also being hurt by her behavior. When others have noticed the same pattern, it can both validate what you are experiencing and make it feel even more overwhelming.

We want you to know that being harmed by a parent does not mean you have failed, and needing space or support does not mean you have stopped loving her. Abuse touches every part of a person, and it often leaves those who have been hurt feeling powerless long after. You do not have to sort this out alone.

One steady next step we would encourage is to sit down privately with a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor in your area, not to try to fix your mother, but to have someone in your corner to help you think through wise boundaries, safety, and how to care for your own heart while you pray for her. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away to someone you trust nearby.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this family before You. We ask You to bring protection and peace where there has been hurt, to give wisdom and steady support to the one who wrote, and to work in this mother's heart and life according to Your will. Lead them both toward healing and toward people who can walk with them. Amen.

We have heard your sorrowful request concerning your mother and we have carried it before the Lord who heareth the broken hearted. To see one so near to you held in spiritual darkness and to feel the wound of abusive behavior is a heavy affliction, and we do not make light of it. The Lord has chastened many sorely, yet He has not shut His ear, and He is able to work deliverance where our hands cannot.

We are praying that the God who alone can deliver from the power of darkness will be pleased to bring your mother out of that bondage into the kingdom of His dear Son. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and where we look for pardon there must we look for sanctification also. There is a ransom found. Job declares that God has said, I have found a ransom, and that ransom is the precious blood of His own Son who bore the penalty for sinners going down to the pit. No other way has been devised by man, but Divine Love has provided it, and therefore we do not doubt that Christ is able to save and to change the heart that now causes harm to others.

We pray also for healing, for the Lord who pardons also heals. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon your mother with healing beneath His wings, purging evil, changing the life blood, and making the nature other than it was before. Where there has been bitterness and unkindness, may repentance be granted, for when the root of bitterness is taken away the evil which grows out of it is also removed. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction in Christ, and we ask that both may be bestowed upon her through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other.

We pray for you also who have been wounded. May the Lord heal your own heart, guard you from despair, and give you wisdom in this trial. Honour for a mother is commanded by God, yet honour does not require you to remain without protection or to endure harm alone. Seek the counsel and help of faithful pastors and mature believers near you, that they may walk with you, give you godly wisdom for needful boundaries, and help to keep you and others safe while you continue to love and pray. Tell your griefs to God in prayer rather than to the pitiless winds, for His arm is not shortened that it cannot save, and He has often given deliverance when His people have wrestled at the brook and feared the morrow.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this mother and upon this child who intercedes for her. Thou alone canst bring forth from cruel captivity. Thou didst bring Israel forth with silver and gold, and Thou canst bring this soul forth with enrichment of grace. Find her by Thy sovereign mercy, show her the ransom Thou hast found, grant her repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus, and turn her heart from ways that wound others. Heal, we beseech Thee, those who have been harmed, bind up their wounds, and keep them in Thy peace. Give wisdom, protection, and perseverance to this dear one who prays, that he or she may live and declare the works of the Lord after affliction. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.

We will continue to remember you both before the throne. Cast your care upon Him who careth for you, and look continually to Christ, in whose wounds is healing and in whose death is life.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we are lifting you and your mother before the Lord with care and seriousness.

It is painful when the person who gave you life becomes a source of harm, and it is right to name both the spiritual reality and the abusive behavior clearly. Scripture teaches that our struggle is not only against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil, and that the enemy seeks to use sin and brokenness to wound others. It also teaches that every person needs salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and that true freedom comes only through repentance and faith in Him.

God calls us to honor our father and mother because they bore and raised us and endured much for us, and Christ Himself showed this honor when He entrusted His mother to the beloved disciple at the cross. At the same time, Jesus taught that when family members oppose the ways of God, division can come even within a household, and loyalty to Christ must come first. Honoring a parent does not mean accepting abuse or allowing harm to continue. Love does not celebrate or bless what is sinful and destructive, and it does not ask God to affirm it. Love seeks truth, repentance, and healing.

We are praying in this way for you both.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask for Your mercy on this mother and on her child who has been hurt. Bring conviction of sin, grant repentance and faith in Christ alone for salvation, and break every influence of the enemy that has taken hold. Set her free from spiritual darkness, heal what is broken in her heart and mind, and lead her into a life that bears the fruit of virtue, self control, and love. For the one who has been harmed, grant protection, wisdom, and fortitude. Give continual strength through hearing Your Word and remembering it, give courage without returning insult for insult, and give discernment to set wise and firm boundaries that guard against further harm. Surround this family with faithful pastors and mature believers who can provide counsel, accountability, and practical help, and if there is danger or ongoing abuse, give clear direction to seek safety and help from trusted authorities.

We encourage you not to repay harsh words with harsh words, for abuse only disgraces the one who gives it and wounds the one who receives it. The Christian calling is to speak what is true and good, even when wronged, while also refusing to participate in or enable what is evil. This requires careful hearing of Scripture, continual recollection of it, fortitude, and deliverance from worldly patterns, none of which comes at once but grows over time as you remain under sound teaching and in fellowship with the church.

Do not walk through this alone. Share what you have shared here with a trusted pastor or elder who can know you personally, assess safety needs, and walk with you in ongoing prayer and guidance. Continue to bring your mother before the Lord, asking not that He would bless the abusive behavior, but that He would save her, change her, and make her whole in Christ, and that He would heal and restore you as well.

May the Lord who is able to heal even at the gates of great darkness bring deliverance in His time, and may you know His peace and protection as you trust Him.
