We have heard your heart and we are joining with you in prayer over these heavy burdens you are carrying. We lift you and your mother before the throne of grace together in Jesus name, asking for God's mercy, truth, deliverance and healing to be made manifest in both of your lives.
We understand how painful and confusing it is when someone you love, especially your own mother, is severely emotionally and behaviorally disturbed and when that turmoil spills over onto those around her. We do believe as Scripture teaches that our struggle is not only against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. The enemy does seek to steal, kill and destroy, and he walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8. At the same time we are called to test the spirits to see whether they are of God. 1 John 4:1. When there seems to be a demonic element to persistent negative behavior, we do not ignore it, we bring it into the light of Christ. We pray for discernment for you and for those around your mother, and we rebuke the enemy's influence over her life and over your home. We are told to be subject therefore to God, but resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4.
We also hear that your mother professes to be a Christian yet believes in some very wrong things. We grieve this with you, because wrong belief leads to wrong living and opens doors to deception. Jesus said you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32. We pray that God will grant her repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, that she may come to her senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:25-26. We pray that she will be surrounded by sound doctrine and godly counsel, that the Word of God will correct and restore her, and that any spiritual blindness or oppression will be broken in Jesus name. We continue to honor our parents as God commands, honor your father and your mother. Exodus 20:12, yet honoring does not mean enabling sin or subjecting ourselves to ongoing harm. We encourage you to seek wise boundaries with the help of mature believers and pastors, speaking the truth in love and guarding your own heart with all diligence.
We also lift up your own physical and emotional suffering. God created you with care and compassion, for you formed my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13. He sees the difficulty of your cycles and the condition that makes them so hard, and He is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. We do not take lightly the heightened vulnerability you feel during this time each month. When we are weak, tired and in pain, the enemy often tries to exploit that weakness, but God's grace is sufficient, for His power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Do not be afraid, for He says fear not, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. We pray for healing and relief for your body, for hormonal and emotional stability, for wisdom for doctors to help you, and for supernatural peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We gently want to remind you of the precious truth that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We are so thankful you identify as a Christian, and we encourage you to continually call upon the name of Jesus directly in your prayers, confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10. It is by His name and His blood that we can boldly rebuke the enemy and find refuge.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You see this dear daughter, her pain, her exhaustion, her desire to honor You. We ask You to place a hedge of protection around her, to cover her mind and body during her cycle with Your peace. Bring healing to her condition, ease her physical pain and calm her emotions. Let her feel Your nearness and Your strength when she feels most vulnerable. We also bring her mother before You, asking for deliverance, clarity, healing of mind and emotions, and freedom from any demonic influence or deception. Open her eyes to Your truth, convict her where she believes what is wrong, lead her to repentance and to sound teaching, and break every chain the enemy has used to work through her negatively. Help this daughter to love her mother with Christlike love while walking in wisdom and healthy boundaries, and provide her with godly counsel, supportive community and medical help. We put on the full armor of God and we resist the devil on her behalf, commanding in Jesus name that every attack against her during this vulnerable time must flee. Fill her home with Your Holy Spirit, with truth and with rest. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting that You hear us and that You are working for good. Amen.
