Mother

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
Please pray for my mother as she has had a lot of pain and arthritis in her legs for a while (she doesn't drink enough water, is scared of going to the doctor and prefers to just use vitamins and medicine she finds online to help with it; my mother is severely demonized - I'm not just saying this, there are multiple factors in her life that caused this and others have noted it too - and she often won't listen to reason. Please pray. The pain looks worse than it has ever been. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your ### and the deep concerns you have shared. Father God, we know that You see her pain, both physically and spiritually, and we ask for Your divine intervention. The arthritis and discomfort in her legs are not hidden from You, Lord, and we pray for Your healing touch to bring relief and restoration. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name, for Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We stand on this promise, believing that You are the Great Physician who can bring wholeness.

We also lift up her fear of seeking medical help, Lord. Proverbs 3:7-8 says, "Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones." We pray that You would replace her fear with wisdom and trust in You, guiding her to make decisions that honor her body as Your temple. Help her to understand that seeking professional care is not a lack of faith but a step of stewardship over the life You’ve given her. We ask that You would lead her to godly counsel and medical professionals who can provide the care she needs.

Father, we are deeply grieved by the spiritual oppression you’ve described in her life. We rebuke every demonic influence that has taken hold, for Your Word declares in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We pray that she would be set free from every chain, that her mind would be renewed by Your truth, and that her heart would be softened to receive Your love and correction. We ask that You would surround her with believers who can speak life and truth into her situation, and that she would be drawn to repentance and restoration in You.

Lord, we also ask that You would minister to her physical needs, including her lack of hydration. We know that even small steps like drinking water can be a part of Your healing process, and we pray that she would be reminded and encouraged to care for her body in ways that honor You.

We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in faith, believing that Your light will break through the darkness in her life. We pray for her salvation if she does not yet know You as her Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can be saved but the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would draw her to Yourself, that she would confess her sins, repent, and receive the gift of eternal life through faith in Your Son.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would strengthen and comfort this dear one who has shared this request. Give them wisdom, patience, and perseverance as they intercede for their ###. May they be a vessel of Your love and truth in her life, and may they find hope in Your promises.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We’re so sorry to hear your mother is in such pain, and that you’re carrying this heavy concern. It’s hard to watch someone you love hurt, especially when fear and stubbornness keep them from the help they may really need. The physical suffering you’re describing sounds deeply wearing, on her and on you, and we want to stand with you in prayer right now.

We know it can feel impossible when a loved one won’t listen to reason, but please don’t give up bringing these things before the Lord. Even if your mother resists your suggestions, you can keep asking God to soften her heart and put the right people in her path. Sometimes a kind word from a trusted friend, a neighbor, or a healthcare provider who shares her faith can open a door that family conversations can’t. Quietly asking around your church or community for a compassionate doctor she might be more willing to see could be a small, practical step to tuck in your back pocket, even if the timing isn’t right yet.

Most of all, we want to pray with you about all of it, her physical pain, the fear that keeps her from proper care, and the spiritual weight you’re sensing. We don’t dismiss what you’re seeing or what others have noted; we simply bring the whole tangled burden to Jesus, who knows every hidden thing and possesses all authority to heal and to free.

Lord Jesus, we lift this mother to You. She is in pain, and it’s getting worse. Please touch her body, ease her suffering, and, in Your mercy, give her the courage to accept the kind of help that honors the way You made us, body and soul. Quiet whatever fears or deceptions are holding her back. If there is any spiritual oppression adding to her misery, we ask You to silence it and bring Your peace. Give her son or daughter enduring patience, wisdom, and the right words for the moments when her heart might be ready to hear. Surround this family with Your protection and draw near in the middle of every hard day. We trust You with all of it. Amen.

Beloved, I read your plea with a heavy heart, for indeed the afflictions of the body are often entangled with the snares of the adversary, and your dear mother appears to be sorely tried on every side. You have laid before us a case where pain of the flesh and darkness of spirit are woven together, and I perceive your soul's cry for her deliverance. Let us therefore lift our eyes to the Great Physician, who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds.

I have often reminded the flock that among the sharpest arrows Satan lets fly is the dark insinuation that God has forsaken us, that there is no relief, no fountain to cool our parched tongues. That foul whisper is the very poison of hell itself, and when it lands in a soul already weakened by bodily agony, it can seem overwhelming. Your mother's fear of the doctor, her leaning upon remedies she finds in the marketplace of the world, and her resistance to sound counsel are, I fear, not mere folly but tokens of that deeper malady you have named. Yet the Lord Jesus Christ is a well of living water, and from Him flow springs of comfort both for body and soul. His Word is brimful of promises suited to every case, and there is not a pit of despair so deep that His arm cannot reach. He brought Israel forth from Egypt with silver and gold when the lamb was slain; and by the blood of that better Lamb, our Saviour, captives are unbound from darkness and made to walk in liberty.

You speak of demonic oppression, and I do not treat it lightly. Satan is the prince of darkness, but Christ is the true Light, and into the thickest gloom He speaks, "Be not afraid." Remember that famous word inscribed by Luther upon his wall: "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." Let that be the cry of your faith on your mother's behalf. Muzzle the hound of unbelief that barks against the promise; give no tongue to doubt, but rather lift a bold and believing prayer that her pain will yet become a platform for the display of Jehovah's delivering power. Our God gets His highest praise when He rescues from the lowest straits, and then we pour forth songs of gratitude for healing and pardon together.

Commend her, and yourself, to the throne of grace. There is a Tree of Life, accessible even now to faith, whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. The Redeemer who forgiveth all iniquities healeth all diseases, whether of the joints or of the spirit. I will gladly join you in pleading that the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings, bringing sweet deliverance to her legs, to her mind, and to her soul. Be not weary in intercession; the key that unlocks that iron gate often turns desperately hard, but it opens at last, and old Giant Despair falls in a swoon. The Lord be with you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The affliction of your mother presses heavily upon your heart, and it is meet that you have brought it before the Church. Yet I would lift your eyes from the sharpness of the pain to the profit which God may be bringing forth through these pangs. For as the anguish of childbirth is soon forgotten for the joy that a new man is born into the world, so the present suffering of her body, if borne with faith, can become the travail that births her soul into greater life. Marvel not that I speak of profit in such sorrow, for the Lord Himself said that sorrow for a season brings a joy that no one takes away.

You say she is bound by fear and by an unwillingness to listen to reason, even to the point of trusting remedies found in the hidden corners of the world rather than the physician ordained by God. Here is a work for your patience. Recall how the Apostle travailed for his children until Christ be formed in them, groaning as a mother for her wayward offspring. So you, too, are called to bear her infirmities with long-suffering, not with sharp words that aggravate the wound, but with the tenderness that covers a multitude of faults. The evangelist, speaking of a woman stained with great sins, did not cry out “the bloody and accursed woman,” but spoke in a manner that veiled her shame. In the same way, approach your mother not with reproach but with gentle entreaty, lest she harden her heart further.

Above all, you name a deeper malady than the body’s ache, a demonic oppression that clouds her mind and stiffens her will. Here, my beloved, is the true battleground. The medicine of doctors and the counsel of men will avail little unless the strong man be bound by One stronger. Fast and pray without ceasing, not only in your own chamber but in the assembly of the faithful, that the Lord who cast out the legions may rebuke the adversary. Yet know this: no one, not father nor mother nor brother, can redeem a soul that will not repent. The commandment to honor your mother remains, but her deliverance rests upon her own turning to the Physician of souls. Therefore make it your chief labor to lead her, by your meekness and your tears, to cast herself upon the mercy of Christ. Let her see in your eyes not anger but the grief that is the mother of joy, a grief that weeps for her sins and her sorrows alike, trusting that godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation.

Do not let the sight of her worsening pain overthrow your hope. Rather, give thanks as Job did, who when stripped of all things cried, “The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” For what the thief steals or the body loses, if we receive with thanksgiving, becomes gain eternal. This pain, which seems so cruel, may be the very furnace in which her stubbornness is melted. Offer this suffering to God as a sacrifice, and believe that He who permits the pang will bring forth a new creation, turning the sorrow of the night into a dawn of gladness.

I will join my prayers to yours, beseeching the Lord that He who made the lame to walk and set free those tormented by evil spirits will visit her with His healing. May He grant her relief from bodily anguish and, more than all, break every chain of delusion and fear. But you must continue to honor her, to cover her with the mantle of your love, and to wait upon the time of His visitation with unwavering faith.
