more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice with you in this beautiful desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we gladly join you in bringing this before our Heavenly Father.

This longing in your heart is from God Himself and it pleases Him greatly. He desires fellowship with us and invites us to draw near to Him continually. James 4:8 says Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. And Jeremiah 29:13 reminds us You will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Your hunger for His presence is evidence that He is already drawing you closer.

Quality time with Him is not merely a duty but abiding in Him, remaining in His love, hearing His voice through His Word, and speaking to Him in prayer. Jesus said in John 15:4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. Psalm 46:10 also calls us to Be still, and know that I am God. In a busy world, we must intentionally be still before Him, to listen and to be renewed.

We encourage you to seek first His Kingdom each day as Matthew 6:33 teaches But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Setting aside a dedicated time and quiet place each day to read the Word, to pray, and simply to wait upon Him will help this quality time grow. Like the psalmist in Psalm 27:4 we can pray One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple. Let this be the delight of your heart rather than a burden, and ask the Holy Spirit to guard that time from distraction and to make it fruitful.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for placing this holy desire in our dear brother or sister's heart to spend more quality time with You. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would help us all to draw ever closer to You. Teach us to be still before You, to hunger for Your Word, and to persevere in prayer. By Your grace, help us to redeem the time and to put You first in our days. Fill this time together with Your presence, speak to us through Scripture, strengthen our faith, and make us bear much fruit as we remain in Christ. Draw us near and keep us near, that we may know You more deeply and walk faithfully with You all our days. In the precious name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We're grateful you shared this desire to spend more quality time with Jesus. That hunger to be with Him is such a good and beautiful thing, and we want to join you in asking the Father to make that time richer and more consistent.

We have found that quality time with the Lord often grows not by trying to add hours all at once, but by protecting a small, regular space for Him. Waiting for a free moment rarely works, but choosing a set time and place does. One simple next step that helps many people is to give Him the first part of your day, even fifteen or twenty minutes, in the same quiet spot with your Bible nearby and distractions set aside. Just begin by welcoming His presence, read a short passage slowly, and talk with Him honestly about what you read and what is on your heart. Some days will feel full and some will feel quiet, but staying with that rhythm allows intimacy to deepen over time.

We are praying for you and thank God for your desire to know Him more.

Father, we thank You for putting this longing in our friend's heart. Draw them close as they seek You, make their time with Jesus unhurried and real, and help them hear Your voice and rest in Your love each day. Keep them faithful in seeking You and fill that time with Your peace and presence. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is no holier desire that can fill the heart than to be much alone with Jesus Christ Himself. The Lord has put this thirst within you, and He who gives the thirst will surely satisfy it, for Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. He is always Himself, and He waits to have fellowship with His people as graciously now as ever He did.

You ask for more quality time with Him, and this is to ask for the very essence of the Christian life. One objective of Christ's religion is to bring His disciples into union and communion with its great Founder, that they may have fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. His Bible, His day, His Church, His ordinances must all be precious to us because they have to do with Him, but in the forefront of all must always stand Jesus Christ Himself, the personal, living, loving Jesus. Looking unto Jesus is better than looking unto our own progress, and to have done with self and live by faith in Jesus Christ Himself is the best course for the Christian.

This fellowship is enjoyed when we draw near to God in prayer. There is a communion of conversation, for in prayer what do we do but talk with God, and when we pray with faith Christ talks with us. We tell Him the dangers that lie before us, He tells us of the shield of Omnipotence with which He can and will guard us. He who is much in prayer will hold very much fellowship with Jesus Christ. And our Lord Himself has left us the example, for He rose up a great while before day and went out into a desert place to pray, because He loved to put prayer first of all. His heart was open to the Father, and He would have our hearts open to Him.

So I invite you to see the importance of a feast with Jesus. He says to you, Come and break your fast. Many a battle has been lost because the soldiers were not in good condition for the fight. You need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Jesus and His truth. A sitting silently at the feet of Jesus is of more worth than all the clatter of anxious care. Do not be satisfied with outward and mechanical religion, with means and ordinances that do not bring you into personal contact with Christ. Jesus said, Somebody touched Me, and blessed are those who by faith truly touch Him, so that a stream of life and love flows from Him to them.

Seek then to give Him the first and best of your time. Rise, if you can, to be alone with Him before the world awakes. Open the Book and hear Him speak, and then speak to Him in prayer. Let it be real contact, heart to heart, not haste and form. He stands at the door and knocks, and promises that if any man hear His voice and open the door, He will come in and will sup with him, and he with Him. This blessed supping with Jesus will restore and strengthen you.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for this longing after Thyself which Thou hast wrought in this dear soul. Thou hast called Thy child into the society of Jesus Christ our Lord, into partnership with Thy Son. Grant now more and more of that blessed fellowship. Help Thy child to look unto Jesus and to abide in Him, to talk with Christ in prayer and to walk with Him through the day. Give grace to put Thee first, to rise and seek Thy face, to break fast with Jesus and to be nourished by His presence. Keep this heart from coldness and from wandering, and draw it ever nearer to Jesus Christ Himself, who is our life. Let time spent with Him be sweet and transforming, and let it bear fruit to Thy glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Priest and Prophet and King, who lives and loves yesterday and today and forever. Amen.
