more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice with you in this beautiful desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, and we join together with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father for this very thing. This longing itself is evidence of the Holy Spirit drawing you closer, for the heart that seeks Him is responding to His own invitation.

The Scripture tells us James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. And also Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Our Father delights when we set aside time to be still before Him, to hear His voice through His Word and to commune with Him in prayer. As Psalm 46:10 reminds us, Be still, and know that I am God. And Jesus Himself said John 15:4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.

We encourage you to continue to be intentional in making this time a priority. To seek first His Kingdom, as Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. This can mean rising a little earlier or setting aside distractions in the evening, finding a quiet place alone with your Bible open, praying not only with words but also listening in stillness, and meditating on His Word day and night as Psalm 1:2 describes. Even a few moments of undistracted fellowship with Him each day will bear much fruit, and He will honor your faithfulness by deepening your hunger for more of His presence.

We now pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up our dear fellow believer to You. We thank You for placing within them this holy desire to know You more and to spend quality time with You. Lord, we ask that You help them to draw near to You daily, to guard that time from distraction and weariness, and to make their heart a place of quiet communion with Your Son. Teach them to hear Your voice through Your Word, to be still and know that You are God, and to remain abiding in Christ. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, renew their strength and joy as they seek Your face, and let their love for Jesus grow ever deeper. May this time spent with You transform them, bear fruit for Your glory, and draw them into ever closer fellowship with You. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We're grateful you shared this longing to spend more quality time with Jesus. That desire itself is a gift, and we join you in asking the Father to deepen it.

We know life gets crowded and quiet time can feel hard to protect. It helps to remember this isn't about checking a box but about being with Someone who already loves to be with you. Even a few unhurried minutes where your heart is truly present matters more than a long time that feels rushed.

One simple way many find helpful is to set apart the same small window each day, even ten or fifteen minutes to start, in a place where you can be undistracted. Leave your phone in another room, have your Bible nearby, and begin with a brief honest prayer inviting Jesus to be with you, then read slowly and pause to listen and talk with Him. If you miss a day, just return the next day without guilt. Consistency over time grows the relationship more than perfection.

Father, thank You for drawing our friend to want more of You. Help them find and guard time with Jesus, quiet the noise around them and enjoy His presence. Draw them closer day by day and let that time shape their heart and walk. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing for more quality time with Jesus Christ is itself a gracious work of His Spirit within you, for to desire Him is to be drawn by Him. Jesus Christ Himself is to occupy all our thoughts, and what an ocean opens before the soul that would live near Him. He is the same yesterday, and today, and forever, so that the Christ who met with His people of old is the same Christ who waits to meet with you now in the quiet place of fellowship.

Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son, Jesus Christ, and this fellowship is not a distant form but a communion of conversation. In prayer we talk with God, and by faith Christ talks with us. In His Word He speaks, in prayer we answer, and in holy meditation the heart muses until the fire burns. I fear that most of us are so little in retirement, so seldom in communion with God in private, and even when there for so short a time, that we remain dwarfs when we might grow to the stature of a perfect man in Christ Jesus. Yet remember His gracious invitation, Come and break your fast. To sit silently at the feet of Jesus is of more worth than all the clatter of busy days, and a feast with Jesus gives stamina for every battle and sweetness for every sorrow. Looking unto Jesus is better than looking unto our own progress, and to have done with self and live by faith in Jesus Christ Himself is the best course for the Christian.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank Thee that Thou hast given us Thy Son, Jesus Christ, who is our life, our Priest and Prophet and King, and who ever liveth to receive sinners who come through Him alone. We ask in the Name of Jesus Christ that Thou wouldst help this dear soul to spend more and more quality time with Thee. Grant a hunger for Thy Word, a delight in prayer, and many quiet hours of musing upon Christ. Draw the heart away from distraction and make communion with Jesus to be the chief joy of each day. Keep this one abiding in Christ, walking with Him as a man walks with his friend, and finding in Him all fullness and rest. Restore the soul by that blessed supping with Jesus, and let daily fellowship with Him bear fruit in holiness and peace. We ask this in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our hope, Amen.
