Silas
Beloved of All
God sees your need for provision and for a safe place to live, and He hears your prayer for protection over those who have been supporting you.
Scripture shows that God often makes provision in a way that leaves room for Him to work as He desires. There are situations that look incurable or impossible from a human standpoint, and we can be tempted to put God in a box and decide how He must act or that He cannot act at all. But He has shown that He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. In your financial need and your need for housing, give Him room to work. Bring your needs to Him honestly and trust that He is not limited by what seems possible to you.
The Bible also teaches that God Himself is our place of safety. In the Old Testament law there were cities of refuge where a person in danger could run and be sheltered and protected from harm, and he was safe as long as he remained within that place. That picture points to what the Lord is for His people today. He is a refuge and strength, and the fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe. You can ask Him to be your refuge and to spread His protection over you and over those who have shown you kindness. He is able to guard you and to guard them.
Financial hardship is not new to God's people. Scripture tells of believers who were very poor and going through severe trials, and yet God provided for them and moved others to give generously to help meet their needs. Part of walking with Him is learning to put Him first, to bring the first of what we have to Him and to trust Him rather than trusting only in money or in people. He promises that He will supply all your need according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
Above all, remember that God has made one provision for the forgiveness of our sins and for a restored relationship with Him, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ. He is the only way by which we can come to the Father, and through faith in Him we receive forgiveness and are counted righteous before God. If you have not already done so, put your trust fully in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. That is the foundation for knowing His provision and His peace in every other area of life.
Let us pray for you. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this need before You. You know the need for funds and for a safe place to stay. Provide as You see best, open doors that no man can shut, and give wisdom for each step ahead. Be a refuge and shelter, and place Your hand of protection over this dear one and over every person who has offered support and help. Draw each heart closer to Jesus, that all may know Your forgiveness, Your presence, and Your faithful care. We trust You to work according to Your perfect will. Amen.
