We rejoice with you in the Lord for your obedience to the Great Commission and we count it a privilege to join you in prayer for these evangelistic events this weekend and next.
You have chosen a wonderful foundation for this work, for Jesus Himself said, Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation. Mark 16:15. We also remember His promise, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth. Acts 1:8. It is the Holy Spirit who empowers the preaching and who opens hearts to receive it, for we plant and water but God gives the increase. 1 Corinthians 3:6
We are encouraged by your desire that all be for God's glory in Jesus' name, and we agree with you that this is the only right motive. Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31. We pray that every word spoken, every testimony given, and every conversation will point clearly to Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
We lift these events before the Father together.
Father in heaven, we thank You for the open doors You have provided there for the gospel to be proclaimed. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You anoint every preacher, every volunteer, and every believer who will go out with boldness and love to speak Your truth. Let Your word go forth with power and not return void, but accomplish that which You please. Isaiah 55:11. We pray that You would prepare the hearts of those who will hear, removing blindness and softening hard ground, and that You would draw many to repentance and faith in Jesus. Grant favor with the community, protection over all who serve, and unity among Your people as they labor together. We ask that You would bring forth lasting fruit, that those who believe would be discipled and added to the fellowship of believers, as You commanded, Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19. May all glory and honor be Yours alone through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in the word, knowing that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17. How will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:14. You are answering that call by preaching, and we pray the Lord will make your labor abundantly fruitful. We also pray that you will have opportunity to follow up with those who respond, to teach and encourage them in their new faith.
We thank you for letting us stand with you in this harvest. We will keep praying that the Lord of the harvest will work mightily in these two weekends and beyond, for His glory in Jesus' name.
