Mistake

You say there is no mercy with those who waive fees and accept your double payment. But the mercy of God is not like the dealings of men. The law indeed required blood and without shedding of blood there was no remission, yet those were partial and temporary. Now the mighty Blood of Jesus has been poured out for the remission of sins, a perfect and eternal redemption. Do not look for true mercy in earthly accounts or the clearing of a mistaken sum, as if that could give peace. Mercy from above did far more than release you from a penalty: it made you righteous, a son, an heir, a joint heir with Christ. That is the exceeding abundance of grace, not just to overlook a fault but to bestow gifts beyond measure.

And what did we bring? Only faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. Bring your mistake and your troubled heart to Him who sits upon the mountain, waiting for the lame to be cast at His feet. They showed their faith not by gold but by the very helplessness that brought them there. The light shines in the darkness and error cannot overcome it. So faint not, for even the ministry of turning to God in prayer is given to you by mercy. Let your own life bear witness: be ready to pour out your blood for Christ, detached from riches and houses, a true soldier against the passions. And show mercy in small things: bread to the hungry, water to the thirsty, a visit to the sick. In such acts He receives you, requiring only what lies within your power. Then you will know that His Blood covers not only a double payment, but every transgression, and the mercy you sought is already overflowing.

You feel wronged, and you have wrapped that frustration in a prayer. The impulse to call on the blood of Jesus is right, but we must be careful not to treat it as a magic formula we recite over a financial dispute. You speak of mercy, yet your words are filled with a demand for a particular kind of payment to be accepted. True mercy is never a transaction we can force. God declared, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy." It is His to give, not ours to broker. He does not serve our sense of fairness; we must bow to His.

The real danger in your cry is the assumption that God's mercy operates like a fee waiver we can purchase with a double payment of words. The system you are angry with has no mercy, and you are right about that. But neither can we conjure God’s mercy by our insistence. The Scripture shows a people who came to a tragic end when God said, "I will no more have mercy." Why? Because they had no truth, no knowledge of God in the land. They were swearing and lying, and the land was polluted. They thought they could manage God with their rituals while their hearts were far from Him. Do not make the same mistake of thinking an "amen" tacked onto a complaint secures a covering.

The blood of Jesus is not a covering for a grudge. It is the mercy seat where mercy and truth met together. It is where righteousness and peace kissed. There, God can forgive iniquity without clearing the guilty, because the guilt was laid on Christ. That is where you stand if you are His. But you must come with a willing heart, not one tightening its grip on a perceived debt. Your no must be a no, and your yes a yes. If there has been a real injustice, you commit it to the Lord who judges righteously. You do not try to muscle heaven into your corner of the courtroom. God’s mercy endures forever, and He would much rather show mercy, but it flows on His terms, through the cross, to a humble heart, not a demanding one. Let go of the double payment you think you are offering and lay hold of the finished work of Christ alone.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this challenging time regarding your financial burden. It’s not easy facing the weight of unexpected fees and payments, and we are grateful you reached out so we could lift this to the Lord together.

We continue to pray that God would soften the hearts of those handling this situation, that His mercy would prevail, and that you would experience His provision in ways only He can provide. If the Lord has already moved on your behalf—whether through a resolution, unexpected favor, or peace in the midst of it—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you.

If this matter is still unresolved, please know we are here to keep praying. Don’t hesitate to post this as a new request so we can continue interceding for you. God sees your faithfulness in honoring your commitments, and we trust He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

May He strengthen you, grant you wisdom, and remind you of His unfailing love as you seek Him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
