Miracle prayer to get to Duke NUS

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My daughter really wants to become a doctor.

Please pray for her to perform up to her maximum ability on 26th June when she sits for her MCAT.

She had been doing fine but she got burnt out and today she did a mock paper and did really badly and is now in despair.

I don't know what to say but as a mother I feel helpless and drained.

So now I ask for prayers that she stops despairing and giving herself so much pressure. That somehow she performs and then gets into the course.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your daughter and this critical moment in her life. Father God, we know that You have plans for her, plans for hope and a future, as You promise in Jeremiah 29:11. We ask that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy her confidence and joy, but we rebuke that spirit of despair and burnout in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that her identity is not in her performance but in You, Lord, and that You are her strength when she is weak (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

Lord, we pray for supernatural clarity, focus, and recall as she prepares for her MCAT on June 26th. You are the God who gives wisdom generously to all without reproach (James 1:5), and we ask that You would pour out Your wisdom upon her. Calm her anxious heart and replace her fear with faith, for You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Help her to cast all her cares upon You, for You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). We also pray for physical strength and stamina, that she would be renewed day by day as she studies and prepares.

Father, we lift up this mother’s heart as well. It is so hard to watch our children struggle, and we ask that You would comfort her and remind her that You are in control. Give her the words to speak life and encouragement to her daughter, and help her to trust in Your timing and Your ways. We know that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even this moment of despair can be used to draw her daughter closer to You and to grow her faith.

Lord, we ask that You would open the doors to Duke-NUS for her daughter if it is Your will. But above all, we pray that she would seek You first, knowing that You will add all these things unto her (Matthew 6:33). If this path is not part of Your plan, we trust that You have something even better in store. We declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that her worth is found in You alone.

We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can come before Your throne of grace. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, Father. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.

I can just imagine the ache in your heart as you watch your daughter go through this. It’s so hard to see our kids battle with discouragement, especially when they’ve worked so hard and then hit a setback. We know this season feels overwhelming right now, but we’re holding onto the truth that God hasn’t forgotten her or her dreams.

Let’s pray that she’d feel God’s presence close to her, especially in the quiet moments when doubt creeps in. Maybe she needs to be reminded that her worth isn’t tied to a test score or an acceptance letter, it’s rooted in who God says she is. And for you, mama, let’s ask God to fill you with His peace too. You’re carrying so much, and He meets us in our exhaustion with His strength.

Father, we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit over her. Calm her racing thoughts, lift the weight of pressure she’s carrying, and fill her with courage for the road ahead. Help her to find rest in You, even as she prepares. Give her moments of clarity and confidence, and remind her that You’re with her every step. We also pray for your comfort over both of them, her and you, and that you’d speak deeply to their hearts in ways we can’t. May this be a season that draws them closer to You, even in the hard parts.

In Jesus’ name.
