We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your daughter and this critical moment in her life. Father God, we know that You have plans for her, plans for hope and a future, as You promise in Jeremiah 29:11. We ask that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy her confidence and joy, but we rebuke that spirit of despair and burnout in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that her identity is not in her performance but in You, Lord, and that You are her strength when she is weak (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
Lord, we pray for supernatural clarity, focus, and recall as she prepares for her MCAT on June 26th. You are the God who gives wisdom generously to all without reproach (James 1:5), and we ask that You would pour out Your wisdom upon her. Calm her anxious heart and replace her fear with faith, for You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Help her to cast all her cares upon You, for You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). We also pray for physical strength and stamina, that she would be renewed day by day as she studies and prepares.
Father, we lift up this mother’s heart as well. It is so hard to watch our children struggle, and we ask that You would comfort her and remind her that You are in control. Give her the words to speak life and encouragement to her daughter, and help her to trust in Your timing and Your ways. We know that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even this moment of despair can be used to draw her daughter closer to You and to grow her faith.
Lord, we ask that You would open the doors to Duke-NUS for her daughter if it is Your will. But above all, we pray that she would seek You first, knowing that You will add all these things unto her (Matthew 6:33). If this path is not part of Your plan, we trust that You have something even better in store. We declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that her worth is found in You alone.
We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can come before Your throne of grace. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, Father. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
