Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and taken to the Lord, and the daily distress you describe is not overlooked by Him. To wake each morning to a harassing voice and to feel watched and targeted for years is a heavy burden to carry, and it is understandable that you feel worn down and that you have even stopped asking God to end it. I am praying for you now that this torment would end and that God would give you His protection and deliverance and His peace.
Scripture teaches that the beginning and the sum of true knowledge is the fear of the Lord, and that to fear the Lord is to hate evil and to depart from it. That reverence for God is not a phobia, but a deep respect that turns away from what is evil and chooses His way. When we walk in that reverence, there is health for the soul and a steadiness that comes from honoring Him with our lives. Part of that is believing what God says about who He is and how He made us to live. He offers salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and He designed sexual intimacy to belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Any way of living outside that design is not what He blesses, and His call to each of us is to turn from sin and to trust Christ for forgiveness and new life. That turning is part of hating evil and choosing the fear of the Lord, and it is the foundation for knowing His peace.
The New Testament always puts grace before peace, because you cannot know the peace of God until you have received the grace of God. When you belong to Him through Jesus, you are no longer at war with God, and then you can begin to know the peace of God within. The prophet Isaiah says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, my peace I give to you. The Lord has thoughts of peace toward you, not of evil, to give you hope, and He invites you to call upon Him and pray to Him, promising that He will listen.
Fear is a powerful enemy of faith. Where fear takes over, faith is driven out, and where faith and trust in God are strong, fear loses its hold. Fear often comes when we forget the Lord and fix our eyes on the threat. Remembering the Lord is the cure for fear. David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. That does not mean the threat is not distressing, but it means God is present with you in it. Jesus taught not to fear those who can harm the body but cannot harm the soul, but to fear God who has authority over both. The fear of man brings a snare, but the fear of the Lord brings wisdom and safety.
God also says the wisdom that comes from above is peaceable, and those who sow peace reap a harvest of righteousness. He wants you to live in peace, and He has made a peace treaty with you through the forgiveness of sins in Christ. That inner peace then helps you to live at peace with others.
I am praying that God would lift this daily harassment from you, whether it comes from outside oppression or from deep inner distress, and that He would silence the voice that accuses you each morning. I am praying that He would guard your mind and your home, that He would ordain peace for you and keep your mind stayed on Him, and that He would draw you close to Jesus where grace and then peace can be yours in full.
Please do not carry this alone. Keep seeking the Lord in His Word and in prayer, and stay connected to faithful believers who can support you face to face. Because this has gone on for years and touches your sleep, your sense of safety, and what you hear, I also encourage you to reach out soon to a trusted pastor and to a qualified medical or counseling professional for care and for help sorting through what you are experiencing. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away to someone you trust or to local help in your area.
May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. May you know His grace in Jesus Christ, turn from what is evil in His sight, and find your mind kept in perfect peace as you trust in Him and call upon Him each day.
