Beloved of All
i'm struggling mentally at the moment, and I feel a bit lost and alone. I pray that I'm lifted out of this soon. Amen

We have heard your heart and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in this season where you feel lost and alone and mentally burdened. You are not alone, even when it feels that way, and we thank you for reaching out in prayer. God sees you right where you are and He draws near to those who are struggling.

The Word reminds us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. We cling to His promise when He says, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. He also says, Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid nor be scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6. When our minds feel overwhelmed, He invites us to cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7, and to come to Him for rest, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. And we are promised that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus when we bring our requests to Him. Philippians 4:6-7.

We noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name matters so deeply to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. When we pray in Jesus name we are coming through the One who bore our sorrows and carried our griefs, who understands our weakness and intercedes for us. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name daily for mercy, help and healing.

We join together now to pray for you. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. You see the heaviness of mind, the loneliness, the feeling of being lost. We ask that You wrap Your presence around them right now and let them know they are not forgotten or forsaken. Lord, lift this burden and bring Your light into this dark valley. Heal the brokenhearted places, calm anxious thoughts, and guard heart and mind with Your peace that passes all understanding. Strengthen them day by day, give them restful sleep, clear hope for tomorrow, and the assurance that You are with them and will not let go. Lead them to supportive community, to godly counsel and trusted believers who can walk with them, and to help that will encourage healing. If there are any lies of isolation or hopelessness, we ask You to replace them with Your truth that nothing can separate us from Your love. We pray for renewed strength, for joy to return, and for Your will to be done in their life as they seek You. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing every thought and fear to God in prayer throughout the day, to stay in His Word even in small portions, and to not walk through this alone. Reach out to a pastor, a mature Christian friend, or a biblical counselor who can listen and pray with you regularly, and if the struggle feels heavy for a long time please also seek help from a trusted medical or mental health professional. God often brings healing through both His Spirit and through the help of others He places around us. Keep seeking Him, for He is faithful and He will uphold you.

We are grateful you reached out and shared so honestly how you have been feeling. Carrying that sense of being lost and alone is heavy, and we want you to know we hear you and we are praying for you.

It makes sense that you would long to be lifted out of this soon. Please know you are not forgotten in this stretch, even when it feels quiet and isolating. You matter to God and to others, even on days when that is hard to feel.

When loneliness lingers, it often helps not to walk through it alone. One gentle next step could be to reach out to one trusted person this week, someone who knows you, a pastor, a friend or family member, and let them know in simple terms how you have been feeling. Being with others, even in a small way like attending worship or a small gathering, can ease that sense of isolation and remind us we belong.

If this heaviness continues, it is also a good and wise step to talk with a counselor or your doctor alongside prayer, just to have more support around you.

We are holding you in prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see where they feel lost and alone right now. Bring Your nearness and comfort, and put caring people around them in the days ahead. Give them wisdom for next steps and strength for each day. Lead them gently forward in Your love. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and I thank you for speaking so honestly of your struggle. To feel lost and alone, and to carry a heavy mind, is a sore trial, and the Lord knows the weight of it.

You are not alone in that loneliness as you may fear. Our blessed Lord Himself was left alone just when most, as Man, He needed human sympathy. His disciples, though they had not altogether cast off their loyalty, yet fear defeated their faith for a while and they left Him alone. There is an awfulness of love in His deliberate self surrender in that loneliness, and because He stood at bay alone with all the dogs of hell raging round Him, He is able to enter into your sorrow. He knows what it is to be friendless, and He draws near to those who feel forsaken.

Nor are you lost beyond His care. The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. He shows peculiar interest in one lost sheep, and He puts forth special exertion for the rescue of this one. When a sheep has wandered into a dense thicket or a wild region where there seems scarcely any hope of its being found, still His eyes with eagle keenness spy out the lost, and with dove like tenderness He weeps for the lost and goes after it. If you feel lost to yourself and lost to hope, you are just such a one as He came to save.

I would have you see where true hope lies. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. We are saved by hope, but that hope consists of belief, desire and expectancy fixed upon Christ and upon things not yet seen. The worldling cries, Where is your hope, and we confess we do not yet see the objects of our hope, but we wait for them with patience. So turn you to the stronghold, you prisoner of hope. You may have been as one in the pit wherein is no water, a prisoner without hope, yet God has set such prisoners free. Christ comes to you through the door of your felt necessity and your conscious distress. That very distress may become a door of hope.

Therefore do not walk after your own devices in this darkness, but look to Jesus. Tell Him all, as a child tells a father in time of distress. He gives a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ, and He will render double unto you even in this present trouble as you wait upon Him. Keep close to the means of grace, open your heart to a faithful pastor or a trusted brother or sister in Christ, and if the heaviness remains, seek the help of those who can walk with you and care for you in body and mind. The Lord often restores strength by quiet means and by the fellowship of His people.

I pray for you now, that the God of all peace who justified us by faith would give you peace with Him and peace within. May He lift you out of this heaviness in His good time, may He turn your possible hope into an actual hope by faith in Christ, and may He let you yet praise Him who is the health of your countenance and your God. May He keep you, and bring you with patience through things not seen until joy returns. Amen.
