Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have received what you shared about your serious mental distress and the frequent fear of losing your reason, and we are praying for you.
We thank God that you are already receiving medical care, and we encourage you to continue faithfully with that care. Seeking help from doctors and counselors is not a lack of faith but a wise and good use of the means God provides for our health. Please stay connected to trusted people around you, in your family, church, and medical team, and do not carry this burden alone. If distress becomes overwhelming, reach out right away to someone you trust or to your care providers.
We are praying that God will grant you His peace, the peace that guards heart and mind in Christ, and that He will quiet fear and confusion with His presence. We are also praying that you will hear His voice with greater clarity. God most clearly makes His voice known through Scripture, through prayer, and through the counsel of His people. As you continue to read the Bible with reverence and regularity, even for a short time each day, and to bring your heart honestly before Him in prayer, He is able to steady you and teach you. The psalmists often cried out from deep anguish and found that God was near to the brokenhearted and close to those who call on Him.
We pray that the Lord will give you rest for your soul, strength for each day, wisdom for your doctors and those who support you, and a growing assurance of His love for you in Jesus Christ. He knows your weakness and does not turn away from you in it, and He is able to hold you even when your own thoughts feel unsteady.
We will continue to remember you in prayer, asking that you may know more of His peace, His nearness, and His guidance in the days ahead.
