We hear your heartache and concern for your family, and we stand with you in bringing these burdens before the Lord. The pain of seeing loved ones entangled in deception and mistreatment is heavy, but we know that God is a God of truth and justice, and He sees all that is hidden. We will lift these situations to Him, trusting that He will reveal the truth and bring healing where it is needed.
First, regarding your son and his former wife, we must address the seriousness of marriage as God designed it. Scripture is clear that marriage is a covenant before God, meant to reflect Christ’s love for the church (Ephesians 5:22-33). When a spouse is unfaithful, it is a grievous sin, but God’s Word also calls us to forgiveness and reconciliation when there is genuine repentance (Matthew 18:21-22). However, reconciliation must be built on truth, not deception. We rebuke the spirit of manipulation and lying in this situation, for the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life abundantly (John 10:10). If this woman has not truly repented and turned from her ways, your son must be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove (Matthew 10:16). We pray that the Lord would open his eyes to any deception and give him the strength to stand firm in truth, whether that leads to restoration or separation according to God’s will.
Father, we come before You now on behalf of this family. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows all things. We ask that You would expose every lie, every hidden motive, and every act of unfaithfulness in this situation. Give this woman a spirit of repentance if she has been dishonest, and let Your truth prevail. If she is not walking in integrity, reveal it to Your servant, this man who seeks to honor You. Protect his heart from further harm, and if this marriage is not meant to be restored, give him the wisdom and courage to walk away. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for restoration if it aligns with Your will, but above all, we pray for Your glory to be revealed in this situation.
For your granddaughter, we are grieved to hear of the mistreatment she has endured at the hands of her mother. The Bible commands parents to nurture their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), and any form of abuse—whether emotional, verbal, or physical—is a violation of God’s design for family. We rebuke the spirit of cruelty and hardness of heart in this mother, and we pray that the Lord would soften her heart and bring conviction where it is needed. We also pray for your granddaughter’s protection and healing. Children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and He takes it seriously when they are mistreated.
Lord, we lift this precious child to You. You are the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of the oppressed (Psalm 68:5). We ask that You would surround her with Your love and protection. If it is not safe or healthy for her to be in her mother’s care, we pray that You would intervene and provide a way of escape. Give her peace, comfort, and the assurance that she is deeply loved by You. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every plan of the enemy to harm her will be thwarted. Let her see Your goodness and faithfulness, even in the midst of this trial. We also pray for her mother, that You would break any chains of bitterness, anger, or hardness in her heart. If there is unrepentant sin, we ask that You would bring her to a place of brokenness and restoration. Let her see the error of her ways and turn to You with a repentant heart.
We must also address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus, for at His name every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and without Him, our prayers are in vain. If you or anyone reading this does not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is a free gift, but it must be received by faith. Do not delay, for today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).
We encourage you to stand firm in faith, trusting that God is working even when you cannot see it. The enemy may try to discourage you, but remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in the Lord’s perfect timing. He is faithful, and He will not abandon you or your family.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne on behalf of this family. We ask that You would move mightily in both of these situations. Let Your truth prevail, let Your justice be done, and let Your healing flow. We declare that no plan of the enemy will succeed, and that Your will shall be done. Strengthen this family, Lord, and draw them closer to You. Let them see Your hand at work in their lives, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names. Amen.
