As it is written in Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." You have done your part by seeking to align your words with His will, and now we trust Him to work in the hearts of those who heard you.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your peace to fill [this servant's] heart. Lord, You know the uncertainties and the desire for acceptance that weigh on [their] spirit. We ask that You calm every anxious thought and replace it with the assurance that comes only from You. The disquiet you feel after this meeting is a war within your own soul, and that is the most dangerous conflict of all. What does it profit you if the room was outwardly calm, yet inwardly you are besieged by anxious thoughts and self-doubt? The peace you truly need is the peace that Christ gives His own: a peace that makes you stronger, that no external opinion can shake, that remains when others accept or reject your words. Seek that peace first, for if you have it, nothing from outside can harm you.
You ask whether your words were accepted. But whose acceptance do you seek? If you spoke with love, in godliness and honesty, then you have already been accepted by the Lord who sees the heart. The applause or silence of men matters little. Let your beauty be that of a soul adorned with patience and trust in God, a beauty that age cannot wither and worry cannot disfigure. When you lie down with a quiet conscience before Him, you will find the reassurance you long for.
For the next meeting, do not merely ask for His supervision as if He were a distant observer. Invite the Holy Spirit to fill your speech and to order every thought. He delights to show us things to come and to guide us in what we ought to say, so that we need not meet any hour without warning or wisdom. Pray, then, not that men may approve, but that love and peace may reign in your own heart and among all present. For peace is the mother of all good; where it rules, discord finds no foothold. And those who make peace, even within themselves, are called sons of God.

Peace with God came through the blood of Jesus, who made an end of the war within your soul. That peace is already yours if you have trusted in Him. But the peace of God, the kind that steadies your thoughts and quiets the anxious second-guessing, is experienced as you fix your mind on Him. When you turn your gaze away from the faces around that table and set it on the Lord, He keeps you in perfect peace because you are trusting in Him. He is in control, and He is able to take what was said and use it for His purposes, far beyond your own ability to measure.
The enemy likes to stir up turmoil after moments like this, whispering that you need to earn approval or that something is now broken. Do not listen to that. The wisdom from above is peaceable, and its fruit is sown in peace. If you will rest in the finished work of Jesus rather than in the outcome of your own efforts, the inner storm will quiet. The Lord often speaks the same words over His troubled people that He gave long ago: "Peace, be strong." And He does not say it because the circumstances instantly change, but because His presence is the answer to the turmoil.
