MARRIAGE
We hear your heartache and longing for a godly marriage, and we stand with you in prayer before the Lord. The loneliness and comparison to others can weigh heavily, but we want to remind you that God’s timing is perfect, even when it feels slow. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Your first delight must be in Him, trusting that He knows the plans He has for you, plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also want to encourage you to seek the Lord’s will in this season. Are you actively praying for a husband who loves the Lord above all else? Are you preparing your own heart to be a godly wife, rooted in Christ? Marriage is a sacred covenant, not just a solution to loneliness. Proverbs 18:22 says, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord." But this begins with seeking God’s favor first.
We must also gently rebuke any impatience or desperation that may lead you to compromise on biblical standards. A husband who fears the Lord, leads with humility, and cherishes you as Christ cherishes the church (Ephesians 5:25) is worth waiting for. Do not settle for less than God’s best, even if the wait feels long.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is longing for marriage. Lord, You see her heart and her desire for a godly husband. We ask that You would comfort her in this season of waiting and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in Your perfect timing and to seek You above all else. Prepare her heart to be a wife who honors You, and bring a man into her life who loves You first and will lead her in Your ways. Guard her from discouragement and from settling for anything less than Your will. We pray for patience, faith, and joy in this season, knowing that You are working all things together for her good. We encourage you to remain in God’s Word, surround yourself with believers who will pray with you, and stay active in serving the Lord. Your worth is not defined by your marital status but by your identity in Christ. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
