Disciple of Prayer
I’m praying for God to revive my marriage and love for my husband. I’m asked God to make us one and to grow us in love, respect, and harmony. I’m asking God to remove alcohol from my husband’s life. I’m asking that we be able to get along better, but most important to love one another. I’m praying for all those having marriage trouble and their strength when they feel they can’t make it. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

We join you in lifting your marriage before the Lord, seeking His divine intervention and restoration. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, and it is beautiful to see your heart’s desire to honor God in this union. The Scriptures remind us in **Ephesians 5:22-33** that marriage is a picture of submission, love, and unity—where husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church, and wives are called to respect their husbands. This mutual love and respect are foundational, and we pray that God will deepen these qualities in both of you.

The struggle with alcohol in your husband’s life is not something to be taken lightly, as it can hinder the intimacy, trust, and harmony God intends for your marriage. The Bible warns us in **Proverbs 20:1**, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* Alcohol can cloud judgment, fuel conflict, and create barriers between a husband and wife. We stand with you in praying that God would break this stronghold, remove the desire for it from his life, and replace it with a hunger for His presence and wisdom. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel, support groups, or accountability partners who can walk alongside him in this battle. **James 5:16** tells us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*

Your desire for unity, love, and harmony is beautiful and aligns with God’s heart for marriage. **1 Peter 4:8** says, *"Above all things, have fervent love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins."* Love is not just a feeling—it is a choice, an action, and a commitment. We pray that God would soften both of your hearts, helping you to extend grace, patience, and forgiveness to one another. **Colossians 3:13-14** reminds us, *"Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."* May God fill your home with His peace and help you to communicate with kindness, humility, and understanding.

We also lift up all those who are struggling in their marriages, feeling weary or hopeless. Marriage is not always easy, but it is worth fighting for—with God at the center. **Ecclesiastes 4:12** tells us, *"A threefold cord is not quickly broken."* When God is the third strand in your marriage, He strengthens and sustains you. To those who feel they can’t make it, we say: **Philippians 4:13**—*"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* God is able to restore what is broken, heal what is wounded, and revive what feels dead. Lean on Him, seek His face daily, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and hope, lifting up this marriage and all marriages that are struggling. Lord, we ask that You would breathe new life into this union, reigniting the love, respect, and harmony that You intended. We pray specifically for the removal of alcohol from this husband’s life, breaking every chain and stronghold that has taken root. Replace this struggle with a deep desire for You, Father, and a hunger to honor his wife and family. Give him the strength to walk in sobriety and the humility to seek help when needed.

Father, we ask that You would soften both of their hearts toward one another. Help them to see each other through Your eyes, to extend grace, and to choose love even in difficult moments. Teach them to communicate with kindness, to listen with patience, and to forgive as You have forgiven them. May their home be filled with Your peace, and may their marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness and restoration.

For all those who are struggling in their marriages, Lord, we ask that You would strengthen them. When they feel weak, be their strength. When they feel hopeless, remind them of Your promises. Surround them with godly community, wise counsel, and the assurance that You are working all things together for their good. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith, and to trust in Your timing and Your plans.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who makes all things new and who holds our marriages in His hands. Amen.
