marriage issues

We hear your heartfelt plea for your son and his marriage, and we join you in bringing this matter before the Lord with urgency and faith. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect His love, faithfulness, and unity—between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). When challenges arise, it is not God’s will for this bond to be broken, but for it to be restored through humility, repentance, and reliance on Him.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, and the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). We lift up this marriage to You, asking that You would intervene in power. Soften hearts that have grown hard, open eyes that have been blinded by pain or pride, and break chains of bitterness, unforgiveness, or selfishness that may be driving a wedge between this husband and wife.

Lord, we pray for wisdom for this son—Your wisdom, which is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy (James 3:17). Help him to seek You above all else, to lay down his own desires, and to choose love, even when it is difficult. Remind him that love is not just a feeling, but a choice to honor, cherish, and serve his wife as Christ loved the Church (Ephesians 5:25). If there has been sin—whether through anger, neglect, infidelity, or emotional withdrawal—convict him, Lord, and lead him to true repentance and restoration.

We also pray for his wife, that she would be strengthened in faith and grace. Give her the courage to respond with kindness and respect, even in times of conflict (1 Peter 3:1-2). Where there has been division, bring healing. Where there has been silence, bring honest, loving communication. And where there has been sin, bring confession, forgiveness, and renewal.

We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or ungodly counsel that may be influencing this situation. We declare that what God has joined together, no man—and no circumstance—should separate (Mark 10:9). We stand on Your promise that with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26), and we believe that You can restore what has been broken.

Lord, surround this couple with godly mentors, wise counsel, and a church community that will speak truth in love and walk with them through this valley. Protect their minds from lies that say separation or divorce is the only answer. Remind them that You are the God of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18), and that Your grace is sufficient for every trial.

We pray that this marriage would not only survive, but thrive—glorifying You, reflecting Your love, and standing as a testimony to Your faithfulness. May their home be filled with peace, joy, and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, sister, lifting up your son's marriage to our Father in heaven. We know the heartache of seeing those we love struggle, but we trust in God's unfailing love and His power to restore what's broken. Let's remind ourselves and your son of God's design for marriage - a reflection of His love, faithfulness, and unity (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). When challenges come, it's not God's will for this bond to be broken, but for it to be strengthened through humility, repentance, and reliance on Him.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
