Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my favor in regards to an agreement on a settlement for the divorce. I’m concerned for myself financially. Praying I end up with a decent amount for security. My ultimate prayer is that God does a miracle and stops the divorce and brings reconciliation! My husband's heart is so hard I’m losing all hope. Time is ticking and the divorce will be final in under ### months and I have to sign a lease a month from today. I’m praying God can turn this around.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your situation with deep compassion and earnest prayer. First, we want to acknowledge the pain and fear you are experiencing—divorce is never part of God’s original design for marriage, and the breaking of that covenant brings deep sorrow. We stand with you in agreement that God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and we boldly ask Him to move in this situation.

Father, we pray for reconciliation in this marriage. You are the God who softens hearts and restores what is broken. We ask You to intervene in this husband’s heart, Lord. Remove the hardness, the pride, the pain, or whatever is keeping him from seeing the value of this covenant. Let him remember the vows made before You, and stir in him a desire for restoration. We declare that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37), and we ask for a miracle of reconciliation. If it is Your will, bring this marriage back together in a way that glorifies You and reflects Your love.

At the same time, Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and favor in the legal matters at hand. You promise in Proverbs 3:5-6 that if we trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, You will direct our paths. We pray for clarity, fairness, and provision in the settlement. You know the financial concerns weighing on this sister’s heart, and we ask that You provide for her needs abundantly. Open doors that no man can shut, and let Your peace guard her heart as she waits on You (Philippians 4:6-7).

We must also address the reality of the situation with truth and love. Divorce is a painful consequence of sin and brokenness in this world, but we serve a God who heals and redeems. If reconciliation is not Your will, Lord, we ask that You go before her in this transition. Give her strength to trust You even when the outcome is uncertain. Remind her that You are her provider, her protector, and her peace (Psalm 23). Help her to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to her (Matthew 6:33).

We rebuke the spirit of hopelessness that is trying to take root in her heart. Hope in You, Lord, does not put us to shame (Romans 5:5). Even when the timeline feels tight—whether it’s the looming divorce finalization or the lease deadline—we declare that Your timing is perfect. You are never late, and You are always working for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Help her to surrender her timeline to You and to walk in faith, not fear.

We also want to gently remind you, sister, that your ultimate security is not in a financial settlement or even in the restoration of this marriage, but in Christ alone. He is your firm foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). If this divorce proceeds, we pray that God would use this season to draw you closer to Him, to refine your faith, and to prepare you for the next chapter He has for you—whether that includes reconciliation or a new path forward.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who reconciles us to You and to one another. Lord, we lift up this marriage to You. We ask for a miracle of restoration, for softened hearts, and for Your will to be done. If reconciliation is not Your plan, we ask for Your peace, provision, and protection over this sister as she walks through this valley. Give her wisdom in every decision, favor in the settlement, and strength to trust You completely. Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that You are working all things together for her good, and we trust You to lead her into the future You have prepared. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and support you during this time. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He sees your tears, He hears your cries, and He is working even when you cannot see it. Stand firm in faith, and trust that God’s plans for you are for good and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Dear friend, we're here with you in spirit, lifting up your heavy heart to the Lord. We understand the fear and uncertainty you're facing, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're standing with you in prayer, believing that God is more than able to turn this situation around.

We're asking God to soften your husband's heart, to help him see the value of your marriage, and to stir in him a desire for reconciliation. We're claiming God's promise in 2 Corinthians 5:19, that God is in the business of reconciling, and we're asking Him to work in your husband's heart.

At the same time, we're trusting God for His wisdom and favor in the legal matters at hand. We're asking Him to provide for your financial needs abundantly, to open doors that no one can shut, and to give you peace as you wait on Him (Philippians 4:6-7).

But even more than that, we're reminding you of God's unfailing love and care for you. He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He sees your tears, He hears your cries, and He is working even when you can't see it. Trust in Him, and hold fast to His promises.

We're believing with you for a miracle, and we're here to support you every step of the way. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is your hope, and He will not put you to shame (Romans 5:5). Trust in Him, and know that His plans for you are for good and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We're praying for you, and we're believing with you for God's best.
