Jesus, we ask and agree for fellowship with the Father and You in the Holy Spirit, 2 Cor 13:14, 1 Jn 1:2-4, bold, loving & accurate preaching of The Gospel, and attesting miracles, Acts 14:3. Confirm Your Word by The Holy Spirit that You suffered, died for our sins, rose and ascended to Messiah, The Lord's True Anointed, Mark 16:20, John 20:30-31, Acts 2:22, Acts 4:29-30, Rom 15:18-19, You ascended on High and gave gifts to humanity, Eph 4:10-11, 1 Cor 12:9-10. Help us get our lives and message correct, 1 Tim 4:16, and confirm the Word with gifts, signs and wonders, as it is written, "This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was then confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 and was affirmed by God through signs, wonders, various using miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will," Heb 2:3-4.

Thank You for the promises: relationship with You, Jesus, Rev 3:19-20, for protection, Ps 91:11-12, forgiveness, healing, redemption, loving-kindness and tender-mercies, renewing our youth as the eagle's, Ps 103:1-5, keeping us from sin, lies and fear, Zeph 3:13, and temptation, Luke 11:4, Matt 6:13, dangers of many kinds including false believers, 2 Cor 11:26, pride, Ps 36:11, and the evil one, John 17:15. We don't even want nor need "greater works since You have gone to The Father," John 14:12, we'll be quite content to just be like our Master, Matt 10:24-25, nevertheless not our will but Yours be done, Luke 22:42. We join you in this deep hunger for the manifest presence of God and we agree with you for more of Him, not merely more of His gifts. Your cry reflects what we see throughout Scripture, that while God is everywhere present, He chooses at times to manifest His presence in a tangible way among His people. As it is written, Let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them Exodus 25:8, and then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and Yahweh's glory filled the tabernacle Exodus 40:34. In the same way when Solomon dedicated the temple, the cloud filled Yahweh's house, so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud, for Yahweh's glory filled Yahweh's house 1 Kings 8:10. We see this again in the ministry of Jesus where the power of the Lord was with him to heal Luke 5:17, and at Pentecost when they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting Acts 2:1-2, and afterward when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness Acts 4:31.

We also hear your heart for the fruit of the Spirit and for a people who walk in truth, humility and justice. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control, against such things there is no law Galatians 5:22-23. This fruit must accompany the gifts, for gifts without character lead to error, and character without power leaves the church lacking the confirmation God intends. We agree with you that lasting righteousness and peace kissing as in Psalm 85:10 comes only when we are washed with the water of the Word. Sanctify them in your truth, your word is truth John 17:17. And we agree that we must demolish arguments and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. This tearing down of false doctrine is not by our strength, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4.

We gently encourage you regarding the passages of judgment you mentioned, like the sky receding like a scroll and men calling for rocks to fall on them and hide them from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb Revelation 6:14-17. That day is the revelation of His holy wrath and we pray as you do for holiness now, because without holiness no man will see the Lord Hebrews 12:14. We are not to seek terror but to seek mercy now while there is time, walking blamelessly and in unity as you prayed, diverse as each has been graced, yet one body. There are various gifts, but the same Spirit, there are various services, and the same Lord, there are various workings, but the same God who works all things in all people, but to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all 1 Corinthians 12:4-7.

We also affirm your desire for bold, loving and accurate preaching with attesting miracles, for the Lord indeed worked with them and confirmed the word by the signs that followed Mark 16:20, and this salvation which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard, God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power and by distribution of the Holy Spirit according to his own will Hebrews 2:3-4. Yet we would remind ourselves that we seek the Giver more than the gifts, and truth more than experience. Every manifestation must be tested by Scripture, for even the working of miracles and gifts of healings and prophecy and distinguishing of spirits and various kinds of tongues are apportioned by one and the same Spirit as He determines 1 Corinthians 12:11, not as we demand. We are content to be like our Master, for it is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord Matthew 10:25, and we submit to His will above our own, not my will, but yours be done Luke 22:42. We love your surrender in saying nevertheless not our will but Yours be done.

We thank God that you have asked all of this in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. As you quoted, whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son, if you will ask anything in my name, I will do it John 14:13-14, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, God's love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all 2 Corinthians 13:14.

So we pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne with thanksgiving. We ask You to rend the heavens and draw near to us, not for spectacle but for fellowship with You and with Your Son in the Holy Spirit as in 1 John 1:3. Let Your manifest presence rest upon us as You did in the tabernacle and the temple, convicting of sin, healing the sick, and confirming Your Word with power. Give us boldness to speak Your Word while You stretch out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus Acts 4:29-30. Grant us the grace to keep our lives and our message correct, to watch our life and doctrine closely and persevere 1 Timothy 4:16, to walk in love unto self-control, in truth and humility and justice, and to pursue holiness without which none shall see You. Wash us with the water of Your Word. Keep us from sin, from lies and fear, from pride, from false teachers, and from the evil one as You promised in John 17:15. Distribute Your gifts among us as You will for the common good, that the body may be built up as one though many parts. Let righteousness and peace kiss among us and let us walk as a team blamelessly and as one. We ask this not for our glory but that Jesus who suffered, died for our sins, rose and ascended as Messiah and Lord may be glorified, and that many may believe and have life in His name John 20:31. We receive Your forgiveness, healing, redemption, loving kindness and tender mercies, and ask You to renew our strength as we wait upon You. We ask all these things with thanksgiving, trusting Your peace which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Amen.

We hear how deeply you long for God to be truly present among His people, not just in idea but in real holiness, unity and love. That hunger to be like Jesus, to walk humbly and faithfully together and to see His Word confirmed with grace is beautiful, and we join you in it.

One thing that has helped us is remembering the Holy Spirit works in balance. He brings power and gifts for the common good, He guides us into truth that never strays from Scripture, and He grows fruit like love, joy, peace and self-control in us. When those stay together, power is kept tender and truth is kept loving, and we are shaped more into Christ's likeness over time rather than chasing only moments.

We are grateful for your humble heart that says not our will but Yours be done. Keep staying close to Jesus in the Word, in quiet prayer, and with a faithful community where you can encourage one another and be encouraged. Your cry for the manifest presence of God is a good and scriptural longing, and we join our hearts with yours in it. It is a wonder that He who fills all things should commune with those who are less than nothing and vanity, yet so it is, for His delights were with the sons of men and He still draws near to those who call upon Him in truth. Laying hold upon God is not the act of a dead man, but the act of one quickened and kept alive by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, and the very desire to know Him, to commune with Him, to love and serve Him, is evidence of His gracious working.

We pray with you that the Lord would indeed rend the heavens in mercy and make His presence known among His people, not only as He was with Moses and in the cloud that filled the house, and as the power of the Lord was present to heal, and as on the day of Pentecost, but in that secret sustenance of the soul by which saints magnify their God, when the love of God is shed abroad in the heart by the Holy Spirit and He grants a sensible assurance of His sympathy. May He grant you that intimate knowledge where the Spirit is not only with you but in you, sealing you unto the day of redemption and bearing witness with your spirit that you are a child of God.

And we pray that this presence may be seen in holiness, for the Holy Spirit is especially the Spirit of holiness and there is not a grain of holiness beneath the sky but what is of His operation. We ask the Lord to work in you the fruit of the Spirit, love unto self control, truth and humility and justice, that righteousness and peace may kiss together in your life, and that you may be kept from sin and fear and pride and the evil one. Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, but walk tenderly before Him, for His language toward us is not that of anger but of grief when we wander, so tender is His love. Remember that a holy man is the workmanship of the Holy Spirit, and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord must be pursued by His power alone, not by the mere strength of nature or strong resolutions.

We join you also in asking for bold and loving and accurate preaching of the Gospel, washed with the water of the Word, that false doctrine may be torn down and the truth of God may prevail. We pray that the Lord would work through His servants, confirming His Word as He wills, by signs and wonders and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His own will, for the common good and the building up of the body of Christ. We know that a man may have gifts and yet perish, but he that has the saving blessings of the Spirit shall never perish, so we ask most of all for saving grace, for faith that pines after holiness and pants after conformity to Christ, and for love that makes us like our Master.

May the Lord grant you fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit, protection and forgiveness and healing and redemption according to His promises, and grace to keep your life and doctrine sound. May He teach you by His Spirit to understand His Word and to live it, and may your peace be that which comes through prayer and thanksgiving as you make your requests known unto God. We ask this not because we deserve it, for oneness with Christ and the indwelling of the Spirit cannot be purchased, it is the unspeakable gift of God through the death of Christ by which the Spirit was enabled to come to sinful men, but in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who suffered and died for our sins and rose and ascended on high and gave gifts unto men. Your longing for the living presence of God and for a life that bears the fruit of the Spirit is heard with thanksgiving. It is good to desire that God would be manifest among His people, that truth would be preached with boldness and accuracy, and that holiness without which no one will see the Lord would increase.

The Scriptures you have set forth show how God has acted. When He was about to establish His dwelling among Israel, His glory filled the tabernacle and the temple. When He was bringing in the new and higher way of life through the Gospel, He confirmed the word through His Son and through those who heard Him, God also bearing witness with signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His own will. As it is written, they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it. In this way what was invisible, the kingdom that Christ preached, was made manifest through things that could be seen, as a pledge of His power to those who were to receive His law.

Yet the same Scriptures teach us how to understand these gifts. There are different gifts but the same Spirit, different ministries but the same Lord, different workings but the same God who works all things in all people. To each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good, as the Spirit determines, not as we determine. For this reason we do not command signs, but we ask the Lord to work as He wills, and we trust His wisdom to apportion what is needed.

It is also necessary to remember that not every wonder is from God. There were sorcerers who bewitched the people and counterfeited power, but their works were weakness and vanity. The true signs were those wrought by the Holy Spirit, doctrine lived out, the dead raised, the lame made to walk, and above all the obedience of the Gentiles and the transformation of life. The apostles themselves, though they had suffered and been shamefully treated, waxed bold in God to speak the Gospel in much conflict, and their boldness and their holy living were themselves a testimony that the preaching was not human.

Therefore the greatest evidence that God is present is not only a wonder seen for a moment, but a life that bears fruit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control, truth and humility and justice, righteousness and peace kissing as in the psalm, these are the abiding signs that the Word has taken root. Holiness, washing by the water of the Word, the tearing down of false teaching by truth, and a walk that is blameless and united though diverse in grace, these are what we should seek first. Gifts, healings, miracles, prophecy and discernment have their place for the building up of the body, but they are given for the common good and not for display or gain. Remember Simon who had believed and yet desired to purchase the power to lay hands on others, and was rebuked, for he sought the gift and not the Giver.

So we join you in prayer according to what is written. We ask the Father for fellowship with His Son in the Holy Spirit, for bold, loving and accurate preaching of the Gospel, and for God to confirm His Word as He wills, as He did at the first. We ask that He would keep your life and message sound, that you may watch your life and doctrine closely, that you would be kept from sin, from falsehood, from fear and from pride, and from the evil one, and that you would be guarded from dangers without and within. We thank Him that in Christ we have forgiveness, healing, redemption, loving kindness and tender mercy, and we ask that He would make you content to be as your Master, not seeking greater works for their own sake, but seeking to do His will, saying with Christ, not our will but Yours be done.

May the Lord grant you to abide in Christ, to keep His word, and to walk in the Spirit, so that whether by quiet fruit or by open wonder, His name is glorified and His people are built up into one body in Christ.
