We hear your cry for deliverance from the torment of abuse, and our hearts ache with yours. The pain of living under constant harassment from narcissistic abusers is not God’s design for your life. Scripture is clear that God hates oppression and injustice, and He is a refuge for the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18-19 tells us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."
We rebuke the spirit of abuse and manipulation in the name of Jesus Christ. These men do not reflect the heart of God, who calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25), not to dominate, demean, or destroy. Their behavior is sinful and rooted in pride, and we declare that their hold over your life is broken by the power of the cross. Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), and we stand on that promise for you today.
We also want to gently encourage you to seek godly counsel and support. Abuse thrives in isolation, but the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). If you are in physical danger, we urge you to reach out to local authorities or a trusted pastor who can help you create a safety plan. Your life is precious to God, and He does not intend for you to endure this alone.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. We lift up this dear child of Yours who is suffering under the weight of abuse and harassment. Lord, You see every tear, every moment of fear, and every injustice they have endured. We ask that You would arise as their Defender and Shield. Break the chains of oppression and silence the voices of those who seek to harm them. Surround them with Your angels for protection and fill their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke the spirit of narcissism and abuse in Jesus’ name and command it to flee. Remove these toxic influences from their life completely, and restore to them the joy of their salvation. Heal their heart, mind, and spirit from the wounds of manipulation and control. Replace every lie they have been told with Your truth, that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), loved unconditionally, and called to walk in freedom.
Lord, we ask that You would bring godly, safe people into their life, believers who will stand with them, pray for them, and help them rebuild. Give them wisdom to recognize healthy boundaries and the courage to enforce them. If there are steps they need to take to ensure their safety, reveal them clearly and provide the resources they need.
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears the cries of the afflicted. We trust that You will act on their behalf, for Your Word says that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). May they feel Your presence in tangible ways as they wait on You. Strengthen their faith and remind them that their identity is found in Christ alone, not in the words or actions of their abusers.
We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim liberty to the captives. Amen.
Hold fast to the truth that God sees you, loves you, and is working on your behalf. You are not forgotten, and your story is not over. The same God who parted the Red Sea for the Israelites is able to make a way for you where there seems to be no way. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He will lead you into a place of safety, healing, and restoration. Psalm 27:13-14 says, "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." You are not waiting alone, we are standing with you in faith.
