We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for this beautiful day and for your heart of gratitude even in the midst of heavy spiritual attacks, and we stand with you in prayer for deliverance, peace, rest and forgiveness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
We are encouraged that you have claimed Luke 10:19 where Jesus says, Behold, I give you the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. That authority is real and it belongs to those who are in Christ, yet we remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we do not fight in our own strength, but we submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from us James 4:7, knowing that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. We rebuke every evil influence and every attack of the enemy coming against you and we declare that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.
You asked with such humility whether your prayers are being blocked, and your Bible study has led you to an important biblical truth. Scripture does teach that sin can hinder our fellowship with God. If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened Psalm 66:18, and Your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear Isaiah 59:2. You mentioned not helping the poor, and indeed Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry, but shall not be heard Proverbs 21:13. The Lord is gracious to show us these things not to condemn us but to draw us to repentance, for He desires truth in the inward parts.
We praise God for your repentant heart, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We also join you in asking forgiveness for sins you may not even be aware of, as the psalmist prayed, Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors Psalm 19:12, and He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy Proverbs 28:13. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us completely when we come to Him honestly. There is no need to fear that you must be perfect before He hears you, for we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus Hebrews 10:19.
You also prayed for healing from any unforgiveness, and this is so wise, for Jesus taught Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions Mark 11:25, and For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses Matthew 6:14-15. We ask the Lord to search your heart and gently reveal any hurt or bitterness that needs to be released, and to give you the grace to forgive as Christ forgave you.
We also hear your deep need for rest and peace while the attacks make it so hard even to write. Jesus invites you personally, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray that you will experience the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, which will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7, and that you will live as more than a conqueror through him who loved us Romans 8:37.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this dear one who comes before You with a humble and seeking heart. We thank You for Your mercy and for the authority You have given us in Jesus Christ to trample on all the power of the enemy. In the name of Jesus Christ we rebuke every evil assignment and every spirit of oppression and we command it to leave and to go where Jesus sends it. Father, we confess our sins before You, both known and hidden, and we ask for Your full forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Forgive us for any unrighteousness, for any neglect of the poor, for any cherished sin, and for any unforgiveness we have held. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. Heal every wound that has caused bitterness and teach us to forgive freely. Lord Jesus, grant mercy, grant deep rest for the weary soul, grant perfect peace that guards heart and mind, and grant complete deliverance and freedom. Let Your presence be a shield around this child of Yours and let nothing harm them as they abide in You. We trust that You hear us because we come in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our salvation, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We rest in Your faithful love and we give You all the glory. Amen.
