We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where the vulnerable—our elderly and disabled brothers and sisters—are being taken advantage of by unfair pricing and manipulation. Father, Your Word is clear in Leviticus 19:35-36, *"You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity. You shall have just balances, just weights, and a just ephah, and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt."* And in Proverbs 11:1, *"A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight."*
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of greed and exploitation that would seek to profit from the weak. We declare that those who engage in such practices are not hidden from Your sight, and we pray that You would touch their hearts with conviction. Soften their hearts, Father, and turn their ways toward righteousness. Let them see the faces of those they harm—the elderly who have worked hard all their lives, the disabled who already face so many challenges—and remind them that their actions have eternal consequences.
We also lift up those who are being taken advantage of. Lord, we ask for Your provision and protection over them. Raise up godly workers—honest, compassionate, and skilled—to come to their aid quickly and effectively. Provide them with advocates who will fight for justice on their behalf, whether through fair pricing, legal recourse, or simply the kindness of those who see their need and respond with integrity. Let Your hand move swiftly, Father, for time is of the essence, and many are weary and burdened.
We pray for miracles, Lord, not just in the form of lowered prices, but in the transformation of hearts. Let those who have been hardened by greed experience the love of Christ in a way that breaks their chains. Let those who have been exploited find hope and restoration in You. And let Your church rise up to be a voice for the voiceless, a defender of the weak, and a light in the darkness of exploitation.
Father, we know that true justice comes from You, and we trust in Your timing and Your ways. But we also know that You call us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You (Micah 6:8). So we ask that You would stir the hearts of Your people to stand in the gap for the vulnerable. Give us wisdom, courage, and compassion to be Your hands and feet in this situation.
And Lord, we acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free and to proclaim good news to the poor. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in this situation, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
