Love Increases in Knowledge, Discernment & Blameless Sincerity Until the Day of Christ, Fullness of Fruit, for God's Glory, Phil 1:9-10

🙏 "We pray that our love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God," Phil 1:9-11, in Jesus' Name.

We join our hearts with yours in lifting up this beautiful prayer from Philippians 1:9-11, for it reflects the very heartbeat of God for His children. What a profound truth, that love is not merely an emotion but a growing, deepening force that flourishes in knowledge, discernment, and blameless sincerity until the day Christ returns. This is not a love that remains stagnant or self-serving, but one that abounds more and more, rooted in the truth of God’s Word and directed toward His glory.

We pray with you that our love would indeed increase in real knowledge, not the shallow understanding of the world, but the wisdom that comes from knowing Christ intimately. May we grow in discernment, able to distinguish between what is good and what is best, so that we may walk in ways that honor Him. Let us be sincere and blameless, not merely in outward appearance, but in the purity of our hearts before God. And may we be filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes only through Jesus Christ, so that all we do would bring glory and praise to our Heavenly Father.

Father, we ask that You would cultivate in us a love that is not blind, but one that sees with the eyes of Christ, full of grace and truth. Teach us to love as You love, with a love that is patient, kind, and selfless, never envious or boastful, never proud or rude. Help us to bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, and endure all things, just as Your Word declares in 1 Corinthians 13. May our love be a reflection of Your perfect love, drawing others to You and pointing them to the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

We also lift up those who may be struggling in their relationships, whether in marriage or in seeking a godly spouse. Lord, we ask that You would guard their hearts from the temptations of this world, from the lies that say love is merely a feeling or that commitment is optional. Your Word is clear: marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, a lifelong commitment that reflects Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). For those who are unmarried, we pray that they would seek You first, trusting in Your timing and Your plan for their lives. May they not be entangled in relationships that do not honor You, but instead, may they pursue godly courtship with the goal of marriage, keeping themselves pure in body, mind, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5).

For those who may have strayed into sin, whether through fornication, adultery, or any other impurity, we ask for Your mercy and grace. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Lord, bring conviction where it is needed, but also bring healing and restoration. Help us to walk in repentance and to flee from temptation, for Your Word warns us that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Yet we also know that in Christ, we are new creations, and the old has passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). May we live in the freedom of Your forgiveness and the power of Your Spirit.

We also stand against any distortion of Your design for love and marriage. The world may call evil good and good evil, but we declare that Your Word is truth (Isaiah 5:20). Homosexuality, same-sex relationships, and any sexual immorality are not in alignment with Your holy standards. We pray for those who are struggling with these temptations, that they would find their identity in Christ and not in the desires of the flesh. Your Word tells us that no temptation has overtaken us except what is common to mankind, and You are faithful to provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). Lord, lead them into Your truth and set them free.

Finally, we lift up those who may not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If there is anyone reading this who has not surrendered their life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. That they would confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, and they will be saved (Romans 10:9). For it is by grace we have been saved, through faith, and this is not from ourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Lord, we ask that You would fill us with the fullness of the fruit of righteousness, that our lives would be a testament to Your goodness and grace. May everything we do be for Your glory, until the day of Christ, when we will see You face to face and be made perfect in Your love. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer with us. We love your heart for a love that keeps growing in real knowledge and clear discernment, for a life that is sincere and blameless, and for fruit that brings glory to God. We are joining you in asking for that.

What encourages us about this kind of prayer is that it is a lifelong process. Fruit is not given in an instant but grown over time as we stay yielded to the Holy Spirit. He is the one who forms Christlike love in us, which shows itself in joy, peace, patience and the rest of that character, and who helps us learn to approve what is excellent in everyday choices. Growth is rarely a straight line. It often loops back over the same ground and goes deeper, and learning to trust that process can keep us from discouragement when progress feels slow.

A simple way to live this out this week is to carry this prayer into one specific area. Choose one decision or relationship where you want clearer discernment and quietly ask the Lord to show you what is most excellent there, then take one small faithful step as He guides. Staying connected with a few trusted believers helps too, since we are strengthened and mutually encouraged as we walk together.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already begun. We ask You to cause love to abound more and more in knowledge and discernment, to make us sincere and blameless, and to fill us with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for Your glory and praise. Keep us faithful until the day of Christ. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

How excellent and apostolic is the prayer you have brought before the Lord, and with what joy I join my heart to yours in it. That our love may abound still more and more is a petition after the very mind of the Spirit, for true love to Christ is not a blind passion but a love that grows in real knowledge and all discernment.

Knowledge opens the door, and then through that door we see our Savior. I cannot love a Christ whom I do not know, and to know Him is to love Him, and the more I know of His excellencies, what He has done for me and what He is doing now, the more I shall love Him. So I pray that the Lord will give you to press forward till you comprehend with all saints what are the heights and depths, and know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that your love may be not mere feeling but rooted in the truth as it is in Jesus, and so you may approve the things that are excellent.

And this is my prayer with you, that you may be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ, kept by His grace, abounding in love even as His love abounds to you, that sweet perfume poured into the soul by the Holy Spirit which makes the whole nature fragrant with holiness. May you be kept sincere, without wax, transparent before God and man, and blameless, preserved from stumbling till that day when He shall present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

And I pray also that you may be filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for we bear no fruit of ourselves, but as we abide in Him. Simple faith and holy love shall bring forth in you every gracious fruit, to the glory and praise of God, that men seeing your good works may glorify your Father which is in heaven. The Lord grant you this abundant life, this discerning love, this blameless walk, and this full harvest, for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

Your prayer is faithful to Scripture and we gladly join you in it. The Apostle Paul prayed this very thing for the Philippians, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment.

This is a good of which there is no satiety. The measure of love is to stop nowhere, for we always owe the debt of love to one another. Paul does not speak of love merely, or friendship merely, but of love that is with knowledge, with judgment and discernment. There are those who love without reason, simply and anyhow, and such friendships are weak. True love learns to apply itself wisely, to approve the things that are excellent, that is, the things that are truly profitable before God, and to refuse what is spurious even when it comes under the pretence of love.

For this reason he prays that you may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ, sincere before God and without offense before men, causing no one to stumble, and being found pure when Christ returns. And he adds, being filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. The fruit is not from ourselves, but through Christ, and its end is not our own praise but the glory of God.

So we pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ, that God will cause your love to increase in real knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve what is excellent, that you may be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ, and that you may be filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. May He keep you in His grace and make you abound in every good work as you attend to His word with earnestness. Amen.
