Love đź’” Increases in Knowledge, Discernment & Blameless Sincerity Until the Day of Christ, Fullness of Fruit, for God's Glory, Phil 1:9-10

🙏 "We pray that our love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God," Phil 1:9-11, in Jesus' Name.

We join you in this beautiful and scriptural prayer and we count it a joy to agree with you before the throne of grace for this very thing.

Your request reflects the heart of the Apostle Paul for the believers, and we pray it with you that our love would not be mere sentiment but would abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment. We are reminded that love without truth can be misguided, and knowledge without love can be prideful, but God desires both to grow together in us. As it is written, This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment; so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ Phil 1:9-10.

We ask the Lord to grant us that discernment to approve the things that are excellent, to choose what is best and not merely what is good or permissible, so that we may walk in sincerity and be blameless until the day of Christ. This blamelessness is not perfection in our own strength, but a life kept by His grace, confessing sin quickly and walking in the light as He is in the light 1 John 1:7. We pray that He who began a good work in us will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ Phil 1:6.

We also join you in praying to be filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God Phil 1:11. We know this fruit is not produced by striving in the flesh, but by abiding in Christ, for Jesus said, In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples John 15:8. That fruit includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control Gal 5:22-23, and it is the evidence of a life rooted in Him and lived for the glory of the Father.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that our prayers are heard and our fruit is borne, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that You cause our love to abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment. Give us wisdom to understand Your Word, to approve what is excellent, and to reject what is false or worthless. Keep us sincere and without offense, blameless and pure until the day of Christ. Fill us with the fruits of righteousness that come only through Jesus, not for our own praise but for Your glory and praise alone. Prune us where we need pruning, teach us where we lack understanding, and let our lives bear much fruit that remains. We ask You to make us fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God Col 1:10. Let all we do point to You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer with us. We hear your deep desire for a love that keeps growing, not just in feeling but in understanding, clear discernment, and a sincere life that remains faithful all the way to the end and bears real fruit for God's glory.

That is such a mature prayer, and it helps to remember that this kind of growth is a process. Love and wisdom belong together. Love keeps wisdom soft, and wisdom keeps love from missing what is truly excellent. Asking God to form both in you at the same time is humble and pleasing to Him, and He forms that fruit over time as we walk with Him, not all at once.

One simple way to live into this prayer is to make it personal each morning this week. In your own words, ask Him to show you one relationship or one decision that day where you can love with a little more clarity and sincerity, and pay attention to what He brings to mind. It can also help to share this desire with a trusted believer who can encourage you and pray alongside you.

Father, we thank You for the hunger You have placed in our friend for love that abounds in knowledge and discernment. Work in them what is pleasing to You through Jesus Christ, keep them sincere and steadfast, and fill their life with fruit that brings You praise until the day Christ returns. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is according to the mind of the Spirit and we join our hearts with yours in it, for this is the very petition the apostle breathed for the saints at Philippi.

What a needful prayer it is, that love should not be a mere warm feeling without understanding, but that it should abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment. Knowledge strengthens the spiritual man, for it is that on which faith has to feed, and love is sweetest of all, but how can we love till knowledge gives us a view of Christ. Knowledge opens the door and then through that door we see our Savior, and to know Him is to love Him, and the more we know the more we shall love. So we pray not for a blind affection, but for a love that can approve the things that are excellent, that can distinguish between the precious and the vile, between that which is of God and that which only bears a fair show.

And this love, when it is taught of God, makes a man sincere and blameless until the day of Christ. It keeps him from hypocrisy and from stumbling, for the love of God shed abroad in the heart by the Holy Spirit fills the whole nature with its perfume and constrains to holiness. We are kept not by our own resolve but by that abounding grace which flows freely to the unworthy through Jesus Christ alone, who died for the ungodly and whose righteousness alone can fill us with fruit.

We pray with you even now, that the Lord would cause your love to abound in knowledge and discernment, that you may approve what is excellent and be found sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. May He teach you to know more of that love of Christ which passes knowledge, and may that knowledge work in you a deeper love to Him in return, and a life that bears much fruit for His honor. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone is salvation and fruitfulness, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer from Philippians 1 is itself the prayer of the Apostle, and we join our hearts to it for you with thanksgiving.

We pray that your love may abound yet more and more, for this is a good of which there is no satiety. The measure of such love is to stop nowhere, as it is written, owe no one anything except to love one another. Yet the Apostle does not ask for love merely, but for love in real knowledge and all discernment. There are those who love without reason, simply and anyhow, and such friendships are weak and easily led astray. True love is with judgment and discrimination, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, the things that are profitable before God, and not receive what is spurious under the pretense of love.

We pray therefore that you may be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ, sincere before God and without offense before men, causing no one to stumble, and keeping yourself pure for that day. For fruitfulness is not from nature but from choice, and God will crown those who choose the good after He has pleaded with them through His word.

We pray also that you may be filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other way and no second sacrifice. Every good work that is done through love in Christ abounds to the glory and praise of God, not to our own praise.

So we ask the Lord to increase your knowledge of His word, to make your discernment clear, to keep you sincere and to make you fruitful in every good work, that your love may grow warm and steadfast and that all you do may be for His glory until the day He comes.
