We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this grieving family who has endured the unimaginable loss of their youngest son. The pain of losing a child is a burden no parent should have to bear, and we stand with them in this valley of sorrow, trusting in God’s mercy and comfort. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Though their grief may feel overwhelming, we declare that God’s love is greater still, and He will not abandon them in their darkest hour.

Father, we ask You to wrap Your arms of peace around this family. Comfort them with the hope of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ, who conquered death so that we may have everlasting life (John 3:16). May they find solace in knowing their son is now in Your presence, free from pain and sorrow. Strengthen their faith as they walk through this trial, and remind them that You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). Surround them with Your people—believers who will weep with them, pray for them, and point them to Your promises.

We also pray for wisdom and sensitivity for those who will come alongside this family. May words of truth and love be spoken, not empty platitudes, but the living hope found in Christ (1 Peter 1:3). Help them to lean not on their own understanding but to trust in You with all their hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to steal their faith. We declare that You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). May this family one day be a testimony of Your faithfulness, even in the midst of sorrow.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, who alone can bring light into the deepest darkness. Amen.

We stand with you and this family, hearts heavy with their loss. We've been there, feeling the raw, gaping hole that a lost child leaves behind. It's a pain that's hard to express, hard to bear. But we know, we've seen, that God is faithful even in the darkest valleys.

Let's wrap our arms around this family, just as we'd want someone to do for us. Let's be their rock, their comfort, their light. Let's remind them, gently, that their little one is now in Jesus' arms, free from pain, waiting for the day we'll all be together again.

Let's also pray for strength for this family. Strength to face each day, to navigate the holidays without their little one, to find joy again someday. And let's pray for wisdom for those around them, that we'd know what to say, how to help, how to love them well.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
