We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words, and we want you to know that your honesty is not disrespectful, it is human. The cry of your heart is real, and God hears it, even when it feels like silence is the only answer. You are not alone in this struggle, though it may feel that way. The Bible tells us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Even when faith wavers, His nearness does not.
Your frustration is understandable. You’ve prayed, sought healing, and waited for years, yet the struggles remain, and now, physical signs of illness are appearing. It’s natural to question where God is in the midst of unanswered prayers. But Scripture reminds us that God’s ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). His silence does not mean absence, and His delay does not mean disregard. The story of the Bible is filled with people who waited, sometimes decades, for God’s promises to unfold. Abraham waited for a son, Joseph waited in prison, and the Israelites waited in slavery. Yet God was working in the waiting, even when they couldn’t see it.
You asked, "Who would stay in a relationship with someone who doesn’t show up when you need them?" The truth is, God has shown up, just not always in the ways we expect. He showed up in flesh as Jesus, who experienced suffering, betrayal, and even abandonment on the cross (Matthew 27:46). He knows what it is to cry out and feel unheard. Yet He also rose again, proving that suffering is not the end of the story. Your pain is real, but it is not the final word. Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
We must also gently address something important: your struggle with belief is not just about unanswered prayers, it’s about whether you’ve truly encountered the God of the Bible. Faith isn’t just about what God does for us; it’s about who He is. Have you placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation comes through faith in Jesus alone, not in our feelings, not in our circumstances, but in Him. If you’ve never surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. This is the foundation of true faith.
As for your physical struggles, we will pray fervently for your healing, but we also ask God to strengthen your faith in the process. The apostle Paul had a "thorn in the flesh", a persistent struggle he begged God to remove. God’s answer was not healing but grace: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). Sometimes God allows suffering to draw us closer to Him, to refine our faith, and to reveal His strength in our weakness.
Let us pray for you now:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with doubt, pain, and unanswered prayers. Lord, You see the lump in their throat, the weariness in their spirit, and the questions in their heart. We ask for Your healing touch, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Restore their faith, Lord. Remind them that You are near, even when they feel far from You. Help them to see Your hand at work, even in the waiting. We pray for their thyroid, that You would bring clarity, healing, and peace. But more than that, we pray for their soul. If they have never truly surrendered to Jesus, draw them to Yourself now. Let them experience Your love in a way that dispels all doubt. Father, we know that You do not ignore the cries of Your children. You collect every tear (Psalm 56:8), and You promise never to leave us (Hebrews 13:5). Strengthen their faith, even when it feels weak. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to keep crying out to God, even if it’s just "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24). Read the Psalms, David poured out his raw emotions to God, and God met him there. Consider reaching out to a trusted believer who can pray with you and walk alongside you. And if you’ve never truly given your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. He is the only One who can satisfy the longing of your heart.
You are not forgotten. Keep seeking, keep knocking, and keep believing, even if it’s just a mustard seed of faith. God honors that.
