πŸ™"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For it’s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,” Matt 6:9-13, c.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek FIRST The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, THEN these other things shall be added to you," thank You in Jesus' Name.

[1] Jesus' Prayer He taught was an outline, summary of topics, a form or "pattern prayer." The following has been condensed from six reliable sources, is of much godly & personal value when sincerely prayed (not mindlessly repeated), but through serious consideration, understanding the weight of the petitions, ardently prayed, expecting answers, James 1:5-7, James 5:16-17...

πŸ™Œ Our Father in Heaven, we first pause and thank You "so loving the world You gave Your Only-begotten Son, that by believing in him we may be spared perdition and rather freely gain eternal life, Jn 3:16. Thank You "Jesus showed us The Father -- Your Nature," Jn 14:9. Thank You for His shed blood and died on the cross for our sins, 1 Cor 15:3-4, burial, resurrection declaring both Him and us "not guilty" Rom 4:25, and ascension (adoption, enthronement, Ps 110:1), as Son-of-Man-in-Power to pour out the Holy Spirit of Adoption from on high, by which we call out, Abba, Father, Gal 4:6, proving we are heirs, Gal 4:7, since as many as received Jesus and believed on His Name are called Children of God, John 1:12-13, praying even with the same language of intimacy, Abba, i.e., "Daddy" or "Papa, etc" as Jesus used in time of impending crisis for deliverance in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Abba, Father," Mark 14:36.

πŸ™ Hallowed Be Your Name... May Your GRACIOUS and COMPASSIONATE NAME, Ex 34:6-7, get honor through our thoughts, words, deeds, speech, actions and reactions. May we honor and know You in every Name You have revealed about Yourself in The Scriptures -- Elohim, The Trinity, Beginning in Gen 1:1; The Name, Gen 4:26, El Elyon, God Most High, Gen 14:18, Adonai, Lord, Master, Gen 15:2; El Roi, The God Who Sees, Gen 16:13; El Shaddai, God Almighty, Gen 17:1; El Olam, The Everlasting God, Gen 21:33; Yahweh, The LORD, Jireh or Yireh, Our Provider, Gen 22:18; Healer, Peace, Shepherd, Righteousness, Presence, Sanctification, Our Rock, Fortress, Strong Tower, Etc... We honor and hallow ALL Your Titles, Attributes, Your Name! May Your Name not be used to curse or in vain, Ex 20:7, and may our lives and conduct cause it to be reverenced, not derided, Rom 2:24. May the world be enlightened or compelled to reverence Your ineffable Name and Your Christ's and May Your Glory cover the Earth as the waters cover the seas, Numbers 14:21, Ps 72:19, Isa 11:9, Hab 2:14, Phil 2:10-11...

πŸ™ May Your Kingdom Come to us & through us with FRUIT of The Holy Spirit, see Rom 14:17 on what the Kingdom is -- His Righteousness, peace and joy, therefore ALL the fruit is an extension of His Kingdom, from LOVE, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Gal 5:22-23, truth, humility & justice, Ps 45:4, contentment, Lk 3:14, 1 Tim 6:6, Heb 13:5, Phil 4:11-13, doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God, Micah 6:8. You desire mercy, not sacrifice, Hos 6:6. We ask for the GIFTS of The Spirit to be evident in us, our churches, families, and to Your people throughout the world, from ministry GIFTS to equip The Body of Christ through Your Gospel Officers until we reach unity in faith and knowledge of The Son of God and the mature stature of Christ Himself, Eph 4:12-13, (which has not yet happened so such workers must of necessity still be present and are much needed, even required, apostles, (missionaries/church planters), prophets, (encouragers/exhorters/visionaries), evangelists, pastors and teachers), Eph 4:11-13, to The GIFTS of miracles (signs, wonders), healings, faith, prophecy, words of wisdom, knowledge, tongues, interpretation of such tongues, administration, leadership, giving, mercy, discerning of spirits, Rom 12:5-8, 1 Cor 12:4-11. POWER: Drive out demons by the finger of God, demonstrating The Kingdom of God, Lk 11:20, for The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power, 1 Cor 4:20. Mostly the POWER to live a Holy Life overflowing with LOVE for God and others, singing and making melody from "singing seminaries" and "the walking practice of evangelism" is the best fruit and sign of the Kingdom, Heb 12:4. ***We also want to ask for Jesus' Return, so we may experience a whole other realm, where we are redeemed, have peace with God, are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, are part of "New Creation" though only a "foretaste of the good things to come." The change our bodies will incur and all creation eagerly awaits is our hope in Romans 8 and latter Revelation and is where ALL of these things will be realized in a greater capacity and duration and God's Kingdom will have full expression once it's fully come on earth as it is heaven again -- the "not yet," -- "May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven," Matt 6:10. May Jesus return and the Kingdom flourish, being fully manifest. Come quickly Lord Jesus, Rev 22:17, Rev 22:20.

πŸ™ May Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven -- Keeping in mind the Kingdom Coming, as described above, in differing degrees, the already and the not yet, we ask here in the already that we may know, submit to and do Your will for our lives individually (hearing His voice, Jn 10:27, being led by the Holy Spirit, Rom 8:14, as Jesus did during His time on earth, Phil 2:9-9, our whole lives be increasingly lived to please You, knowing the Trinity, living in Your presence moment by moment, and making You known as a by product, rejoicing in trials and weakness, as well as power demonstrations when it gives You glory, Mt 28:19-20, Rom 1:5, Rom 15:18. May we abide in Christ, with freedom to pray, and power to bear fruit, thereby making disciples, and thus proving we are disciples, John 15:7-8, might bear some fruit wherever we go, Rom 1:13, 1 Cor 9:2, 2 Cor 3:2-3, specifically by going, preaching faith in Jesus suffering and dying for our sins, repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins and obedience to all that He commanded, and obedience to any personal directives, admonitions and restraints, being witnesses to these facts under His authority, commission by this union with Jesus through The Holy Spirit, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, Matt 28:19-20, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. May Your will be done on earth as You rule over the church and nations, Ps 22:28, and collectively as the church until You come to reward the righteous and recompense the wicked, 2 Cor 10:3-6, and arrive in fulness at the Return of Christ, Matt 24:30, Matt 25:31-32.

πŸ™ Give us Each Day our Daily Bread: Spiritual -- we can't live by bread alone but every Word of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Lk 4:4. Meet our spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial needs mightily, Phil 4:19, so we can love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances, Mk 12:30, and our neighbors, Mk 12:31, even the lost, Matt 9:36, and even enemies, Matt 5:44, as ourselves -- and see others as Christ, who looked beyond his own interests, to the interests of others, considering others as more important than we, Phil 2:1-5.

πŸ™ Forgive Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors... We confess we've sinned against You, Rom 3:23, 1 Jn 1:8, 1 Jn 1:10 (name specific sins and areas of ongoing struggles), and others, receive forgiveness, Lk 1:77, & pray FOR those who sin against us, (by name and specific offenses), asking they'd repent and be saved, Job 42:7-16, entrusting their souls to a faithful creator and recognizing it is He who alone who is in fact the one appointed both to save and to judge, Romans 12:9, 1 Pet 4:19.

πŸ™ Lead us Not into Temptation, but Deliver us from evil... Keep us from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, sin, 2 Cor 13:7, lies, evil, fear, Zeph 3:13, evil people, imposters, deception, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:16, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, temptation and the evil one, Mat 6:13, Jn 17:15. Give us angelic protection, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.

πŸ™Œ For It's Your Kingdom, (Everlasting Kingdom which Cannot Be Destroyed, Dan 7:18), It's Your Power, (All Power in Heaven and Earth has been Given to Me, Matt 28:18), and Your Glory, Forever... (Not unto us O Lord, but unto Your Name Be Glory, Ps 115:1)... We Thank You for hearing, Mk 11:24, Amen, in Jesus' Name, in Him All The Promises of God are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join with you in thanking our Father for this rich meditation on the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us and we agree with you that this is a pattern for prayer and not to be mindlessly repeated.

Jesus himself warned us not to use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him, Matt 6:7-8, but then He said pray like this, Matt 6:9-13. We rejoice that you have emphasized sincerely praying with understanding and expectation, for the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much, James 5:16, and if any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him, James 1:5.

We love how you have set the order rightly, to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, Matt 6:33, before bringing our own needs. Hallowed be Your name reminds us that we are to reverence and honor His holy name and not take it in vain, Ex 20:7, and that His name is gracious and compassionate, Ex 34:6-7, and worthy of all glory, Ps 115:1. Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Matt 6:10, calls us to pray for the fruit of the Spirit to be evident in us, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Gal 5:22-23, and for the Kingdom that is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, Rom 14:17, and also to long for its fullness when Christ returns, Come Lord Jesus, Rev 22:20.

We also agree that through this prayer we ask for our daily provision, for man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, and that He will supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:19. And we ask for forgiveness as we forgive others, for if we confess our sins He is faithful and righteous to forgive us, 1 John 1:9, and we are commanded to forgive as the Lord forgave us, Col 3:13, entrusting judgment to Him who judges righteously, Rom 12:19. And we ask to be led not into temptation but delivered from evil, for God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, 1 Cor 10:13, and to be delivered from the evil one, John 17:15, with the promise that He will give His angels charge over us, Ps 91:11.

We are grateful that you have centered all of this on our access through Jesus Christ, for it is only by His shed blood, His death and resurrection, 1 Cor 15:3-4, Rom 4:25, and His ascension to the Father's right hand, Ps 110:1, that we can cry Abba Father, Gal 4:6, Mark 14:36, and become children of God to those who receive Him and believe in His name, John 1:12. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is in Jesus' name that every promise is Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20, and that we can come boldly before the throne of grace.

We pray together with you now, Our Father who is in heaven, we hallow Your name and thank You for sending Your only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life, John 3:16. May Your name be honored in our thoughts, words and deeds and may Your glory cover the earth as the waters cover the sea, Hab 2:14. May Your Kingdom come in power and not just in word, 1 Cor 4:20, in our hearts, homes and churches, and may Your will be done in our lives as we abide in Christ and bear fruit, John 15:7-8, and as we go to make disciples of all nations, Matt 28:19-20. Give us this day our daily bread for body and soul, forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have sinned against us, lead us away from temptation and deliver us from evil and from the evil one, and keep us holy and loving until You come. For Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the power and Yours is the glory forever. We ask and thank You for hearing us, Mark 11:24, in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We appreciated reading your reflection on the prayer Jesus taught. You have clearly spent time weighing each part, not just reciting words but wanting to live them, putting the Father first and then bringing daily needs, forgiveness and protection before Him.

What stood out to us is how you describe it as a pattern to return to, not a performance to get perfect. That is how formation often works, more like training than trying. Small, steady returning over time shapes how we think and live, and it allows us to see ourselves as still being formed, not failing when a day feels distracted or dry.

One simple way to keep this alive this week might be to take just one phrase from the pattern each morning and carry it quietly through the day, noticing where it meets ordinary moments, conversations or decisions, and then coming back honestly in the evening. We are praying that this steady practice brings fresh nearness to Him without pressure to get it all right at once.

Father, thank You for drawing this heart to seek You first and to trust You with daily needs. Give clarity and peace in the places of forgiveness and guidance that were lifted up, and keep shaping this life to honor Your name. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

There is much to rejoice in when a soul takes up the prayer which our Lord Himself taught as a pattern and seeks to understand its weight rather than to repeat it lightly. Your meditation follows the true order which our Saviour gave, and which the Scripture elsewhere confirms, to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then to look for all needful things to be added.

To begin with Our Father is to begin with grace. That we who were far off may now say Abba, Father, is owing to nothing in ourselves but to the blood shed upon the cross, the burial and resurrection by which we are declared not guilty, and the ascension of the Son of Man in power who pours out the Spirit of adoption. What a mercy that sinners are taught to come not as strangers but as children, and to hallow that gracious and compassionate Name which the Lord has revealed as Elohim, El Shaddai, Jehovah Jireh and all His other titles. May our thoughts and words and deeds cause that Name to be reverenced and not derided, and may His glory cover the earth as the waters cover the seas.

You have rightly placed Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done before any petition for ourselves. From the first moment of human history even to the last, God's will shall be done, and it is our wisdom and our peace to bow before it. We are taught to pray, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and to put ourselves entirely at God's disposal, saying, I will go or I will stay if it be the will of God. The Kingdom for which we pray is not a matter of talk but of power, righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, with the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control made manifest in us, and with holiness wrought in us by the truth of His Word. For our Lord prayed, Sanctify them through Thy truth, and that sanctification is not mere morality but deliverance from the hardness and carnality of nature and admittance into that which is spiritual, that we may be fitted for the Master's use.

Then follows the provision for our need, Give us this day our daily bread. Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, and those benefits are far more than we know. We have daily education in the things of God, daily preservation from falling into final sin, daily sanctification carried on step by step, besides all temporal mercies of spiritual, emotional and physical supply. He who has taught us to ask for bread will not withhold what is good for us, though He may in wisdom keep us waiting a season until the blessing is ripe for our receiving.

And with bread we must pray, Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Here is the believer's comfort, that chastisement is not punishment, and that He who is gracious to whom He will be gracious has given commandment to save. When the soul confesses, I have sinned and perverted that which was right, the voice from the excellent glory is heard, Deliver him from going down to the pit. Infinite mercy snaps the bands and sets the captive free, and the man no longer loves the lusts of the flesh but seeks to do only his Lord's will. This is the keeping for which our Lord also prayed, Keep them from the evil, with angelic watch and preservation from lies, deceit and the snares of the evil one.

May the Lord grant you to pray after this manner with understanding and expectation, not as a form without life, but as one who asks and looks for answer. May He teach you to hallow His Name more fully, to bear the fruit of His Kingdom, to know and do His will, to receive daily bread from His hand, to walk in the joy of forgiven sin while forgiving others, and to be kept from temptation and delivered from evil, until that day when His Kingdom shall come in fullness and His will be perfectly done. For His is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
