Our Father in Heaven, we first pause and thank You "so loving the world You gave Your Only-begotten Son, that by believing in him we may be spared perdition and rather freely gain eternal life, Jn 3:16. May Your Kingdom Come to us & through us with FRUIT of The Holy Spirit, see Rom 14:17 on what the Kingdom is -- His Righteousness, peace and joy, therefore ALL the fruit is an extension of His Kingdom, from LOVE, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Gal 5:22-23, truth, humility & justice, Ps 45:4, contentment, Lk 3:14, 1 Tim 6:6, Heb 13:5, Phil 4:11-13, doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God, Micah 6:8. You desire mercy, not sacrifice, Hos 6:6. We ask for the GIFTS of The Spirit to be evident in us, our churches, families, and to Your people throughout the world, from ministry GIFTS to equip The Body of Christ through Your Gospel Officers until we reach unity in faith and knowledge of The Son of God and the mature stature of Christ Himself, Eph 4:12-13, (which has not yet happened so such workers must of necessity still be present and are much needed, even required, apostles, (missionaries/church planters), prophets, (encouragers/exhorters/visionaries), evangelists, pastors and teachers), Eph 4:11-13, to The GIFTS of miracles (signs, wonders), healings, faith, prophecy, words of wisdom, knowledge, tongues, interpretation of such tongues, administration, leadership, giving, mercy, discerning of spirits, Rom 12:5-8, 1 Cor 12:4-11. Mostly the POWER to live a Holy Life overflowing with LOVE for God and others, singing and making melody from "singing seminaries" and "the walking practice of evangelism" is the best fruit and sign of the Kingdom, Heb 12:4. ***We also want to ask for Jesus' Return, so we may experience a whole other realm, where we are redeemed, have peace with God, are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, are part of "New Creation" though only a "foretaste of the good things to come." The change our bodies will incur and all creation eagerly awaits is our hope in Romans 8 and latter Revelation and is where ALL of these things will be realized in a greater capacity and duration and God's Kingdom will have full expression once it's fully come on earth as it is heaven again -- the "not yet," -- "May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven," Matt 6:10. May Jesus return and the Kingdom flourish, being fully manifest. Come quickly Lord Jesus, Rev 22:17, Rev 22:20.

May Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven -- Keeping in mind the Kingdom Coming, as described above, in differing degrees, the already and the not yet, we ask here in the already that we may know, submit to and do Your will for our lives individually (hearing His voice, Jn 10:27, being led by the Holy Spirit, Rom 8:14, as Jesus did during His time on earth, Phil 2:9-9, our whole lives be increasingly lived to please You, knowing the Trinity, living in Your presence moment by moment, and making You known as a by product, rejoicing in trials and weakness, as well as power demonstrations when it gives You glory, Mt 28:19-20, Rom 1:5, Rom 15:18. May we abide in Christ, with freedom to pray, and power to bear fruit, thereby making disciples, and thus proving we are disciples, John 15:7-8, might bear some fruit wherever we go, Rom 1:13, 1 Cor 9:2, 2 Cor 3:2-3, specifically by going, preaching faith in Jesus suffering and dying for our sins, repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins and obedience to all that He commanded, and obedience to any personal directives, admonitions and restraints, being witnesses to these facts under His authority, commission by this union with Jesus through The Holy Spirit, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, Matt 28:19-20, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. May Your will be done on earth as You rule over the church and nations, Ps 22:28, and collectively as the church until You come to reward the righteous and recompense the wicked, 2 Cor 10:3-6, and arrive in fulness at the Return of Christ, Matt 24:30, Matt 25:31-32.

Give us Each Day our Daily Bread: Spiritual -- we can't live by bread alone but every Word of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Lk 4:4. Meet our spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial needs mightily, Phil 4:19, so we can love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances, Mk 12:30, and our neighbors, Mk 12:31, even the lost, Matt 9:36, and even enemies, Matt 5:44, as ourselves -- and see others as Christ, who looked beyond his own interests, to the interests of others, considering others as more important than we, Phil 2:1-5.

Forgive Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors... We confess we've sinned against You, Rom 3:23, 1 Jn 1:8, 1 Jn 1:10 (name specific sins and areas of ongoing struggles), and others, receive forgiveness, Lk 1:77, & pray FOR those who sin against us, (by name and specific offenses), asking they'd repent and be saved, Job 42:7-16, entrusting their souls to a faithful creator and recognizing it is He who alone who is in fact the one appointed both to save and to judge, Romans 12:9, 1 Pet 4:19.

Lead us Not into Temptation, but Deliver us from evil... Keep us from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, sin, 2 Cor 13:7, lies, evil, fear, Zeph 3:13, evil people, imposters, deception, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:16, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, temptation and the evil one, Mat 6:13, Jn 17:15. Give us angelic protection, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.

For It's Your Kingdom, (Everlasting Kingdom which Cannot Be Destroyed, Dan 7:18), It's Your Power, (All Power in Heaven and Earth has been Given to Me, Matt 28:18), and Your Glory, Forever... (Not unto us O Lord, but unto Your Name Be Glory, Ps 115:1)... We Thank You for hearing, Mk 11:24, Amen, in Jesus' Name, in Him All The Promises of God are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We rejoice with you in this beautiful meditation on the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us and we join you in seeking first the Father and His Kingdom before our own needs.

We love how you have laid out the order Jesus gave us, for He said Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Matt 6:9-13. This is not to be vain repetition, for Jesus warned against babbling like the Gentiles who think they will be heard for their many words Matt 6:7, but as you said it is a pattern given to teach us how to pray with understanding, sincerity and faith expecting answers.

We agree that the first petitions must be Godward, that His name be hallowed, His Kingdom come and His will be done, and then our needs follow. This reflects the very principle Jesus gave us when He said But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt 6:33. How often we reverse this and seek our provision and deliverance first, yet our Father invites us to align our hearts with His glory and purposes and trust Him to add all that we need.

We thank our Father with you that He has made this intimate access possible only through Jesus Christ. You have rightly remembered that God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 and that Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is because Jesus was delivered up for our trespasses and was raised for our justification Rom 4:25 and because as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become Gods children, to those who believe in his name John 1:12, that we can now cry Abba, Father Gal 4:6 even as Jesus prayed Abba, Father, all things are possible to you Mark 14:36. There is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to approach the throne of grace, so we are grateful you have prayed in Jesus name, for in him all the promises of God are Yes and Amen 2 Cor 1:20.

We are encouraged by your desire to hallow His name in thought, word and deed, to remember He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness Ex 34:6, and to not take His name in vain Ex 20:7. We also join you in longing for His Kingdom to come in its fullness, that His righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit Rom 14:17 would be manifest in us through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control Gal 5:22-23, and that the gifts of the Spirit would equip the Body until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God Eph 4:13. We wait with all creation for that day when the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea Hab 2:14 and every knee will bow at the name of Jesus Phil 2:10.

We pray together now for the daily petitions you lifted up.

Father in heaven, we hallow Your name together and ask that Your name be honored in our lives and in this world. Let Your Kingdom come in us and through us, and let Your will be done in our lives as it is done in heaven. Teach us to hear the voice of the Shepherd and to be led by Your Spirit Rom 8:14, to abide in Christ and bear much fruit John 15:7-8, and to walk in obedience to all that Jesus commanded Matt 28:20. Give us this day our daily bread, for man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of Gods mouth Matt 4:4, and supply every need of ours according to your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Phil 4:19 so we may love You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength Mark 12:30 and love our neighbors as ourselves Mark 12:31. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and help us to confess our sins knowing if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9, and to forgive from the heart as You have forgiven us Eph 4:32, entrusting those who have wronged us to You who judges righteously. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one Matt 6:13, keep us from the evil one John 17:15, guard us from deception and give us strength to stand, for You will give Your angels charge over us Ps 91:11. We declare Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever, not unto us but to Your name be glory Ps 115:1. We ask this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Your meditation upon the prayer which our Lord taught His disciples is most welcome and shows a heart that desires to pray aright, not with vain repetitions but with understanding and expectation.

Our Lord, when His public preaching work was nearly ended, gave Himself wholly unto prayer, and that chapter which we rightly call the Lord's Prayer is as the holy of holies of the Word of God. There we hear the Son speaking with the Father in closest fellowship, and He has left us this pattern that we might learn how to order our own supplications. You have done well to observe its order, that we seek first the Father, His name, His kingdom and His will, and then bring our own needs before Him. As it is written, seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

To hallow His name is to desire that His gracious and compassionate character, as revealed in Scripture, should be honoured in our thoughts, words and deeds, and that His glory should cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. To pray Thy Kingdom come is to pray for holiness, for righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, and for the fruit of the Spirit to be manifest in us, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Holiness is an essential qualification for fitness in the service of God, and therefore our Lord prayed, Sanctify them through Thy truth, Thy word is truth. May the Lord answer that prayer in you, and make you abiding in Christ and therefore fruitful to His praise.

You have rightly included daily bread, both temporal and spiritual, for man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Cast all your care upon Him, for He will supply your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

You have also touched the tender petition, Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. This is no small or stinted pardon, but a complete and divine forgiveness. He not only forgave us at the first, but He continueth daily to forgive, and that forgiveness is eternal, obtained for us through the shed blood and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet the very prayer that teaches you to ask for mercy bids you say, as we forgive our debtors. Unless we have forgiven others we read our own condemnation when we repeat that prayer. May grace be given you to forgive freely as you have been freely forgiven, and to pray for those who have sinned against you that they also may repent and find mercy.

And you close as our Lord taught us, Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Deliverance is of the Lord, and He is mighty to keep His people from sin and from the evil one, and to give charge concerning His own. Neglect not private prayer, for he that is mighty on his knees is mighty everywhere. There is a prayer treasury, and we put prayers into it as we cry day and night unto Him, and He will surely bring deliverance in His own time.

We join our prayers with yours. May the Father hallow His own name in your life, establish His Kingdom in your heart, accomplish His will in you as it is done in heaven, supply your daily need, grant you the joy of full forgiveness and a forgiving spirit, keep you from temptation and deliver you from evil, and cause all to redound to His Kingdom, power and glory forever. Your meditation on the prayer the Lord taught us is faithful and good, and I thank God for your desire to pray with understanding and not with mindless repetition. Jesus gave this prayer as a pattern to shape our hearts, not as words to be repeated without thought. When we pray it sincerely, weighing each petition and expecting God to hear, we learn to seek Him rightly.

You have ordered your prayer rightly, seeking first the Father, His name, His kingdom and His will, and then bringing your own needs. This is as it should be. To hallow His name is to ask that His gracious and compassionate character may be honored in our thoughts, words and deeds, so that our lives do not cause His name to be dishonored. To seek His kingdom is to ask for righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, and for the fruit of love, patience, kindness and self control to be formed in us, and for the power to live a holy life that shows His love to others. And to pray that His will be done is to ask to know His voice, to be led by His Spirit, to abide in Christ and bear fruit, and to walk in obedience to all He has commanded.

When you then ask for daily bread, you ask well for both spiritual and bodily provision. We cannot live by bread alone but by every word that comes from God, and He promises to supply what we need so that we may love Him and love our neighbor. Take care to seek provision for health and for service, not for excess or to feed desires. The present life passes like a dream, and moderation keeps the soul clear and ready for prayer.

When you pray, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, you touch the heart of the gospel. This prayer belongs to those who have become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone shed His blood for our sins and was raised to declare us not guilty. Having received such great forgiveness, more than we even asked, we are then schooled by our own need to be merciful to others. If we remember our sins and forgive those who sin against us, entrusting judgment to God who alone saves and judges, we keep our hearts free from revenge and we hold fast to hope in His mercy, which remains open to us even when we stumble after we have believed.

When you pray, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, pray with confidence in God's faithfulness. Prayer is a great weapon, and we need it early in the morning and at night, for each day brings its own struggles and temptations like rocks in a storm. No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tested beyond what you are able to bear, and with the temptation He will also make the way of escape so that you may endure it. He gives patience and brings release. Ask also for protection from deception, from false teaching, and from the evil one, and trust His power to keep you.

If you do not receive at once what you ask, persevere. God does not delight in delaying His gifts, but He sometimes lengthens our supplication to train us to remain close to Him and to come to Him continually as to a Father. Just as loving parents allow a child to feel a little fear so the child will run to their arms, so God permits trial so that we will flee to Him and abide with Him. Therefore pray early, pray with perseverance, and whether you are in ease or in trial, remain in prayer.

May the Lord make you steadfast in this pattern, to seek His glory first and to trust Him for all else, and may His kingdom, power and glory be yours forever in Christ. Amen.
