πŸ™"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For it’s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,” Matt 6:9-13, c.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, then all these other things shall be added to you," thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in thanking God for the perfect pattern He has given us for prayer and we agree with the beautiful order you have highlighted in Matthew 6:9-13.

You have rightly seen that our Lord teaches us to put God first before our own needs. The prayer begins with worship and surrender, Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Matt 6:9-10. Only after we have hallowed His name and sought His Kingdom and His will do we bring our daily needs before Him. This reflects the heart of Matt 6:33, But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.

We love that you paused to consider this Selah moment, because this order transforms how we pray. It keeps us from making prayer only about our wants and reminds us that our greatest need is for God Himself to be glorified and for His will to be done in our lives and on the earth. When we start with His honor, His Kingdom and His will, our hearts are aligned to ask rightly for what follows.

Then our Lord tenderly invites us to bring our daily needs, Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Matt 6:11-13. Here we see our dependence for provision, our need for forgiveness and our call to extend that same forgiveness to others, and our need for keeping power against sin and the evil one. It ends as it began, with praise, for Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, reminding us that all we ask is held in His sovereign hands.

We pray together with you in Jesus name, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father, as Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6.

Our Father in heaven, we hallow Your name and we thank You that we can call You Father through Jesus Christ. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, in our families, and on this earth as it is in heaven. We ask You to give us today our daily bread, all that we need for body and soul. Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have sinned against us, create in us clean hearts that freely forgive as we have been forgiven. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one, keep our feet from stumbling and guard us from sin. We declare that Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Help us to live this prayer daily, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness and trusting You to add all else we need. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this thanksgiving around the Lord's Prayer. We can hear your heart to put the Father first, His name, His Kingdom and His will, before bringing your own needs for provision, forgiveness and protection from evil. That order matters and it is encouraging to see you living it out in prayer.

We join you in gratitude for the way Jesus taught us to pray. It keeps our eyes on who God is and at the same time reminds us He cares about our daily bread, our need to both receive and extend forgiveness, and our need to be kept from temptation. Your note captures that well, seeking Him first and trusting Him with the rest.

If it helps, you might keep this pattern as a simple daily rhythm, pausing in the morning to thank Him for who He is before listing the day's needs, and again in the evening to notice where you saw His provision or His help to forgive or to turn from what would harm you. It can make thanksgiving a steady habit rather than only a moment.

Father, we thank You with our friend for Your Kingdom and Your care. We praise You for daily provision and for Your mercy that teaches us to forgive as we have been forgiven. Keep us close to You, guard us from evil, and let Your will be done in our lives today. In Jesus' name, amen.

The order which our Lord has taught you in prayer is itself a gospel sermon. You have rightly seen it, that He would have us begin not with ourselves but with our Father in heaven, with His name, His kingdom and His will, and only then to bring forth our own need. This is the fit order for a child of grace. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things shall be added unto you.

Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Here we learn to desire above all things the honor of our God. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The heart that prays thus must feel in any case that God's will must be done, and must pray with resignation after our Saviour's perfect model in the garden, Nevertheless not as I will but as Thou wilt. You have asked for that which is for God's glory, and you must continue to pray, for you do not know what His will is, yet you may pray with confidence, for you have three firm grounds of confidence, God's sovereignty, Christ's sacrifice and God's immutability. His sovereignty encloses you and His angels surround you, and in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide you.

Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. How rich is that middle petition. There is forgiveness with Thee. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so free and so full that the Lord Himself speaks as one who glories in it. It is a complete forgiveness, for when the creditor is asked for payment and the debtor has nothing to pay, He blots out the whole debt. It is an eternal forgiveness, for he who is once forgiven is forgiven to all eternity, and it is to be had now, in a moment, upon believing in Jesus Christ His Son. For it cannot be that there should be no forgiveness since Jesus died, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. If you tremble and shake for fear and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, hear this blessed whisper which breaks the gates of brass, There is forgiveness, there is forgiveness with God, and it is to be obtained only through Jesus Christ. And because we have in Him so full a forgiveness, it becomes our joyful duty to live as a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us.

And this prayer ends as it began, with the kingdom. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen. You do well to rest there. Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee. Though Satan shoot his fiery dart and whisper that God's ear is shut, the promise holds for every seeking sinner. Christ has said you shall have peace if you believe on Him and He will not run back from that word. He that sought deliverance at the brook Jabbok and crossed in fear found his brother's face in peace, and so shall you find that the Lord orders your steps and keeps you from evil, delivering you from the archers that would destroy.

May the Lord teach you thus to pray continually, first giving Him the glory, then bringing your daily bread, your daily sin and your daily peril to Him who delights to give, to pardon and to keep, and may you prove this day that there is forgiveness with Him and power and glory evermore through Jesus Christ our Lord.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
