Lord

Your prayer is a good one, and it asks for what the Lord is ready to give: wisdom for those who treat you, healing for your body, and peace for your soul. It is right to ask God to guide the hands of the anesthesiologist, the surgeon, and the nurses. They are instruments in His providence. A steady hand is a gift, and a clear mind is a gift. Pray for them confidently, but let your deepest trust rest not in human skill alone but in Christ the true Physician. He has permitted this surgery, and He can direct every detail of it.

Do not let anxiety rule your heart. Fear before surgery is natural, but you have a strong medicine for it: prayer, thanksgiving, and the memory that the Lord who calmed the sea can calm the storm within you. He is the light that shines in darkness. The operating room is not dark to Him. The stone, the instruments, the hands, and the outcome are all known to Him. So ask boldly for a steady hand and a complete recovery, yet add what our Lord taught us: not my will but yours be done. God sometimes heals the body quickly, sometimes through the slow work of medicine, and sometimes He uses illness to draw the soul nearer to Himself. All of it is in His care.

While you seek the health of your kidneys, seek also the cleansing of your soul. The body is precious, but the soul is more precious still. Let this trial make you earnest in prayer, ready to forgive, generous to the poor, and watchful against sin. For the Lord says, Loose every band of iniquity, break your bread to the hungry, and then call upon me and I will answer; while you are yet speaking I will say, Here I am. That promise is for you now. Call on Him with confidence.

I will join my prayer to yours before the Lord. May He grant wisdom to your medical team, steadiness to their hands, peace to your mind, and healing to your body according to His will, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I have read your request and I am praying with you for this surgery and for your healing.

You asked for the Lord to guide the hands and minds of your surgeon, your anesthesiologist, your nurses and the whole medical team, and that is a right and good prayer. God gives wisdom and skill, and we can ask Him to grant steady hands and clear judgment to those who will care for you, that the stone would be removed safely and completely.

Scripture speaks often about stones, and your request brings that picture to mind in a very personal way. One psalm says the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone, and the apostles teach that Jesus Himself is that living stone, chosen by God and precious, though rejected by men. He is the sure foundation for all who trust Him. Another prophet speaks of God laying in Zion a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation, and whoever believes will not be shaken. When we come to Jesus in faith, we come to the living stone who alone can save and who holds us steady when our bodies and our hearts feel unsteady.

The Gospels also tell of women who went to the tomb worried about a great stone, asking among themselves who would roll it away for them, only to find when they arrived that God had already rolled it away. It was not rolled away to let the Lord out, but to let them in to see what God had done. That worry is so human, to lie awake wondering how a heavy stone will be moved. You are facing a literal stone that is causing blockage and pain and anxiety, and the Lord sees that stone and the worry that comes with it. He is able to remove blockages and to bring peace that guards the heart, even before the stone is taken out.

I also want to encourage you about healing. I believe God heals today and that He is able. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes He heals gradually, and sometimes He heals through the very processes He has built into our bodies. All healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or through the skill of doctors and the natural recovery He designed. We do not always understand why healing comes in one way for one person and another way for another, but we can trust His goodness and His power, and we can thank Him for the knowledge He has given to medical teams.

So I am praying for you in the name of Jesus, that the Lord would cleanse and strengthen your kidneys and restore them to healthy function, that He would calm your anxieties and keep your body free from severe complications and pain, that He would bring your renal and circulatory systems into healthy balance, and that He would grant you a smooth surgery and a fast and complete recovery. May you rest on Christ the cornerstone, knowing that you are held by Him, and may you experience His peace as you entrust your body and your future into His hands.

Father, in the name of Jesus I lift this dear one to You. Guide every person in that operating room, grant them wisdom and skill, remove this stone safely, heal and strengthen the kidneys, take away fear, and bring full restoration and recovery for Your glory. Amen.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your prayer request as you prepared for your kidney stone surgery. It was our privilege to stand in agreement with you, lifting up the hands, minds, and hearts of your entire medical team—asking the Lord to grant them wisdom, precision, and steadfast skill. We prayed fervently for your kidneys to be healed, cleansed, and strengthened, that they would function perfectly and bring your entire system into balance. Our hearts were with you as we asked God to calm your anxieties, spare you from severe pain or complications, and lead you into a swift and complete recovery.

If the Lord has already answered these prayers in a mighty way, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If your surgery is still ahead or if you’re in the midst of recovery and need continued prayer, please share an update so we can keep interceding on your behalf. We believe in the power of persistent prayer and the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father to hear and respond according to His perfect will.

May the Lord continue to surround you with His peace, comfort, and healing touch. We pray that you would feel His presence in every moment and trust in His unfailing love. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
