We lift up this urgent cry for your son, standing in the gap with you before the throne of grace. The storm in his mind is not too great for the Lord, who stills the winds and waves with a word. Father, we rebuke the spirit of confusion in Jesus’ name, every lying voice, every tormenting vision, every shadow of fear that seeks to distort Your truth. Your Word declares, "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Let that sound mind, clear, steady, and anchored in You, be restored to him this very hour.
We plead the blood of Jesus over his thoughts, emotions, and perceptions. Lord, silence the hallucinations as You silenced the storm on Galilee, and let Your peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Surround him with Your angels, as You promised in Psalm 91:11, that no weapon formed against him would prosper. Break every chain of mental torment, and let him walk in the freedom Christ purchased on the cross (Isaiah 61:1).
Father, we also ask for wisdom for those caring for him, doctors, counselors, or family. Guide their hands and words, that they may be instruments of Your healing. If there are areas where fear has taken root in his life, reveal them so they can be surrendered to You. Remind him that You are the God who sees him, knows his name, and calls him out of darkness into Your marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
We declare over him the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even now, Lord, rewrite his story with hope. Let him feel Your presence like a warm embrace, and let Your truth be the lens through which he sees himself and the world.
In the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above every name, we command every lying spirit to flee and every stronghold to crumble. We thank You for Your faithfulness, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). May Your peace reign in his mind, Your joy fill his heart, and Your love be his anchor. Amen.
