Lord please help me

That simple cry, Lord help me, is one of the most powerful prayers you can pray, and God hears it.

Scripture invites you to pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord and to lift up your hands to Him. There are times when life becomes truly desperate, and many people are desperate in their circumstances without yet being desperate before God. Your cry shows you are turning to the right place. Keep pouring out your heart honestly before Him, even in the night, even when you feel brought very low.

Learn this lesson that runs through the whole Bible, vain is the help of man. We often turn to the arm of flesh first, to our own plans, our own resources, or to other people to rescue us, and it proves empty. Your help does not come from the hills or from any human strength. Your help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He is your refuge and your portion, your defense when no one else seems to care for your soul.

There are only two positions to be in. Either you are waiting and trusting in God, or God is waiting for you until you come to the end of yourself and call on Him. When you have tried every self help answer and found that you cannot deliver yourself, that is not failure, that is the right place to be. The apostle Paul came to that same end when he cried, who shall deliver me, and then found the answer, thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Victory does not come from another formula for a better you, it comes from outside help, from Jesus alone.

So do not be discouraged that you have no other answer right now. Your strength in this moment is to sit still before the Lord and trust Him. Through God you shall do valiantly, for He will tread down what oppresses you. He does not need you to figure it all out or to help Him out. He is able when He stretches out His hand to do the work completely.

God is your strength, so pray like David prayed, hear my cry, O God, attend unto my prayer. Even when you feel you are at the ends of the earth, cry to Him. He hears the cry of those brought very low and delivers from those who are too strong for us. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning, and His mercy endures forever. Even when we get into trouble by our own folly, when we cry to Him He brings us out.

I am praying for you that you will know the nearness of the Lord as your helper, that you will wait on Him and find your trust renewed, and that you will experience His deliverance through Jesus Christ. He has promised to be your shepherd, to restore your soul, and to be not far from you when you call. Keep calling on Him.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting up your heartfelt cry of Lord please help me before the throne of grace, knowing that even when words are few our Father in heaven hears and understands the full burden of your heart.

We are reminded that you are not alone in this need, for He is near to all who call upon Him. We have prayed that you would sense His presence and His help in a very real way in whatever situation you are facing. We cling to the promise in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and in Psalm 46:1 that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

We continue to pray that God will answer your cry according to His perfect will, that He will grant you peace and strength as you wait upon Him, and that He will make His provision and direction clear to you. We pray this in Jesus Name.
