Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for opening your heart so honestly and for bringing your family before the Lord with such persistence. The pain and pressure you have carried, the attacks and abuse you describe, and the long waiting for complete deliverance and healing are heavy burdens, and it is right to bring them to Jesus. It is also beautiful that in the midst of it you are giving thanks and praise for all He has already done and answered. Holding onto gratitude while you still wait is a deep act of faith.
You have asked for strong protection, and Scripture gives you solid ground to stand on. The Lord is your refuge and shield, your wall of fire around you, and He gives His angels charge over those who fear Him. When you plead the blood of Jesus and ask for His covering according to Psalm 91, Psalm 34:7, Zechariah 2:5 and Romans 8:31, you are asking according to His character. If God is for us, nothing can stand against us in a way that separates us from His love and purpose. Keep trusting Him as your protector, even when circumstances feel threatening.
At the center of all your requests is salvation, and that is the greatest need and the greatest miracle. The very name Jesus means the Lord is salvation. He came to save His people from their sins, and to confess Him now and submit to His Lordship now is unto salvation and eternal life. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord, but that confession then will not bring salvation, it will only acknowledge what was rejected. That is why Scripture urges us that now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. Do not put off receiving or sharing that grace. Salvation is not something we can achieve on our own. It is outside our ability and rests entirely on His grace and His work through the cross and resurrection, and even the faith to believe is His gift to us. Continue to pray earnestly for each member of your family by name that they would believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, as promised in Acts 16:31, and trust that His arm is not too short to save.
Because salvation is a gift, we are then called to work out what God has worked in. That does not mean working for your salvation with fear and trembling, but working out the salvation He has already placed within you, living it out with reverence, obedience and daily trust. You prayed that you would not lean on your own understanding but trust Him, and that is exactly this walk. Be diligent to live out what He has given you, even when you cannot see the full outcome.
You have also prayed much for healing, for bodies, minds, souls, trauma, rejection and broken relationships. The Lord is the one who heals and binds up the brokenhearted and restores the soul as Psalm 23 says. Isaiah points us to the suffering of Christ for our healing, and the gospel shows that this includes both spiritual and physical healing, as we remember when we take communion and remember His body broken for us. I believe with you that God still heals. Sometimes He heals instantly, and sometimes He heals gradually through a process He Himself has established in our bodies and minds. There is one recorded miracle where Jesus laid His hands on a man and his sight returned gradually, reminding us that healing can unfold step by step. All true healing, whether sudden or through natural processes, is from Him. At the same time, Scripture shows us that God in His wisdom does not always remove every affliction as we ask, as with Paul who prayed three times concerning his thorn. What never changes is that the greatest healing is the forgiveness of sins and a new heart. He has promised to pour His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit according to Romans 5:5, to give a new heart and a new mind and to cause His people to walk in His ways according to Ezekiel 36, and to turn a curse into a blessing through Christ who became a curse for us according to Galatians 3:13. He also promises to restore what has seemed hopelessly broken, as Joel 2:25 declares. Bring every wound to Him and trust both His power and His wisdom.
For the many specific concerns you lifted up, family members struggling in school, needing understanding and confidence, needing favor with teachers and students, needing sleep and peace, needing help with work and new responsibilities, and the painful relational entanglements, I join you in asking for the Lord to intervene with clarity and mercy. Pray that every relationship in your family would be brought under the Lordship of Jesus and into alignment with His good design. God created marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and He calls all sexual intimacy and living together to belong within that covenant. Where relationships are dysfunctional, harmful or outside His will, pray that He would lovingly stop what would harm, expose what is not of Him, heal deep wounds of rejection and abandonment, and lead toward purity, wholeness and unity. Where reconciliation is possible and right, ask Him to bring it. Where there has been hurt, ask Him to heal trauma. And remember that when natural family bonds are strained because of faith or sin, the family of God can become a close and sustaining support, bound together by a deeper tie in Christ.
You also confessed speaking badly about others behind their backs, explosive anger in your heart, venting in frustration, and fear. Thank you for that honesty. When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us through Jesus and to cleanse us. Receive His forgiveness, and ask Him to help you do better, to guard your tongue, to calm anger, and to replace fear with His perfect love and peace. He will help you manifest the fruit of the Spirit as you walk with Him.
I am praying with you for your times of devotion and prayer, for your prayer ministry and for those who gather to pray, that God would anoint, protect and guide you, pour out His Holy Spirit, and draw more hearts to seek Him. I am praying for your work, for messages you prepare, for workshops and other opportunities to share His word, that He would give you exactly what to say, anoint your words for salvation and encouragement, and be glorified in a mighty way in all your lives. May He call your walls salvation and your gates praise, and may He bring the breakthrough and encouragement you long for.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift this dear one and every family member mentioned before You. Cover them with Your protection, surround them with Your presence, save those who are not yet saved today, heal what is broken in body, soul and spirit, break every curse through the cross, pour Your love into their hearts, give new hearts and minds, restore their souls, bring unity where You desire unity and godly separation where You desire separation, heal trauma and rejection, help with school and work and sleep and daily responsibilities, forgive sin and cleanse from anger and fear, and fill them with supernatural trust, peace and joy. Let Your will be done in every relationship according to Your holy and loving design. Be glorified in their lives. Amen.
