Your heartfelt and persevering prayers are seen and heard by the Lord, and I thank God for the honesty and faith with which you have poured out your heart. You have walked through deep pain and ongoing attacks, and at the same time you have seen God answer so many prayers already. It is right to hold both together, to give thanks for what He has done while continuing to trust Him for the complete deliverance, healing and salvation you are still waiting for.

I join you in asking for the Lord's protection over you and your whole family. Scripture presents Him as our refuge and shelter, the One who encamps His angels around those who fear Him and who is Himself a wall of fire around His people. No weapon formed against you will finally prosper, and because God is for you, nothing can ultimately stand against you. I pray that you will know His covering, His guarding of your minds and bodies and sleep, and His deliverance from every form of evil and abuse, according to Psalm 91, Psalm 34:7, Zechariah 2:5, Isaiah 54:17 and 2 Thessalonians 3:3.

At the center of all your requests is salvation, and that is the greatest need and the greatest miracle. The name Jesus itself means the Lord is salvation, for He came to save His people from their sins. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared, and Scripture urges us that now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. To confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and to believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead brings salvation now. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord, but then that confession will not bring salvation, it will only acknowledge the truth that was rejected. That is why it is so urgent not to put off responding to Him.

Your salvation does not rest on your own capacity or effort. God intentionally placed it outside our ability so that it would rest entirely on His grace and on the finished work of Jesus Christ, and even the faith to believe that work is His gift to you. For those who have received Him, we are then called to work out what God has already worked within us, with reverence and trembling. That does not mean working for salvation, but living out with diligence and obedience the new life He has already given.

I also join you in praying for healing, and I pray with understanding that God heals in many ways. Isaiah speaks of the suffering of Christ for our transgressions and also for our healing, and the gospel shows Jesus healing sickness, infirmity and broken hearts. Some healings in Scripture were immediate, one was gradual, and many healings come through the natural processes God Himself created in our bodies, which are no less divine because they are natural. Other healings are deeply inward, the mending of wounds and scars in the mind and emotions. To assume that God must heal in every case exactly as we ask is not what Scripture teaches. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and the Lord answered differently for His own purpose. What remains certain is that while healing is precious, salvation and the forgiveness of sins is infinitely more important, and that is the miracle we can be sure of when we trust Christ.

Because of that salvation, I pray Romans 5:5 over you, that the love of God would be poured into your hearts by the Holy Spirit, and Ezekiel 36:25-27, that He would give you new hearts and new minds and cause you to walk in His ways, bearing the fruit of the Spirit. I pray Psalm 23:3 that He would restore your souls, and Galatians 3:13 that Christ, who became a curse for us, would break every curse and turn it into blessing. I pray Joel 2:25 over all that seems hopelessly broken, that the Lord Himself would restore what has been lost. I pray for reconciliation and unity in your family. When one comes to Christ there can be alienation even within a natural family, but God also gives a deeper family in Christ, and He is able to heal and knit together what has been torn apart.

For the many specific burdens you carry, for family members by name, for school and teachers and homework and confidence, for work and new responsibilities, for relationships that have been dysfunctional and painful, I pray for the Lord's supernatural help, wisdom and intervention. I do not ask God to bless any relationship outside His good design, for salvation is through Jesus alone and marriage is His covenant of one man and one woman for life, with intimacy belonging within it. I pray instead that every relationship in your family would be brought under the lordship of Christ, made pure, healed of wounds, delivered from what is harmful, and guided into what is holy and healthy. Where there is dysfunction or destructive influence, I pray God would rebuke it and stop it, and where there is need for favor, understanding and protection, I pray He would grant it.

Thank you for confessing where you have vented frustration and spoken behind another's back and for wanting to do better in conflict. The Lord is gracious to forgive when we confess, and He calls us to seek reconciliation and to speak with love. I pray He would confront what needs to be confronted, comfort those who need comfort, remove what is not of Him, and replace fear with His perfect love and peace.

I pray for your times of prayer together and for your devotions and for the sharing of the Word, that God would anoint, protect and guide them, empower them by His Spirit, and use them to draw people to Himself. I pray He would give you exactly what to say when you have opportunity to speak for Him, and that He would bring the encouragement and breakthrough you have asked for, so that you do not lose sight of all He has already done while you wait on Him.

May the Lord help you not to lean on your own understanding but to trust Him with all your heart, and may He give you His own supernatural faith and trust to sustain you.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift this dear one and every member of this family to You. Cover them, save them, deliver them, heal them, reconcile them and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Pour Your love into their hearts, give them new hearts, restore their souls, break every chain and make them whole. Let today be a day of salvation for those who have not yet believed, and let those who have believed walk out that salvation with reverence and joy. Do what only You can do, and let Your name be glorified in every part of their lives. Amen.
