Lord Jesus please grant

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing your family before the Lord with thanksgiving for all He has already done and with trust for what He will yet do. We thank God that you are looking to Jesus Christ alone for salvation, protection and healing, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and His arm is not too short to save.

We pray with you for strong protection over you and your household. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to be your shield and refuge according to Psalm 91 and Psalm 3, to command His angels to guard you, to be a wall of fire around you as He promises in Zechariah, and to keep you from evil as He promises in 2 Thessalonians 3. We ask this not as a formula but as humble children asking a faithful Father who knows the attacks and abuse you have endured and who sees every pain that remains.

We pray for salvation, deliverance and healing for your whole family. We ask God to pour His love into your hearts through the Holy Spirit according to Romans 5, to give new hearts and new minds and to cause you to walk in His ways according to Ezekiel 36, to restore your souls according to Psalm 23, and to turn every curse into blessing through the cross of Christ who became a curse for us according to Galatians 3. We ask Him to restore what feels hopelessly broken according to Joel 2, to heal wounds of trauma and rejection and abandonment, to guard your sleep, to give strength for work and school and new responsibilities and daily needs, and to bring reconciliation and unity where there has been division. We pray that you will grow in supernatural trust, not leaning on your own understanding but trusting Him with all your heart, and that you will keep a careful hearing of His word and continual recollection of it, with fortitude and love, for no one part of virtue is sufficient alone but God forms the whole life of faith in us.

Concerning the relationships you named, we pray with pastoral care and with fidelity to the gospel. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His holy design, but we ask Him to bring every relationship under the lordship of Jesus. We pray that He will bring conviction where there is sin, purity where there has been impurity, and clarity where there is confusion. We pray that any relationship that is not in keeping with His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and for sexual purity and living together only within that covenant, would be either brought into holiness and order before Him or be graciously ended by His hand. We pray for favor in school and work only as it serves holiness, for deliverance from dysfunctional patterns, for healing of past wounds, and for wisdom for all involved to seek first the kingdom of God. Where reconciliation is according to His will and His word, we ask for a miracle of forgiveness and peace. Where separation is needed for holiness and protection, we ask for courage to walk in it.

We pray for your own heart as you have confessed venting and fear and frustration. We thank God for your desire to do better, and we ask His forgiveness through the blood of Jesus and His help to speak the truth in love. We ask Him to comfort those who are hurting, to confront what is not of Him, and to encourage you when you feel overlooked. We remember before the Lord your prayer gatherings and the evening of prayer this Friday, your devotions and your preaching. We ask Him to anoint, protect and guide that ministry, to draw hearts to pray together, to give you the exact words to speak in the sermon for the salvation of hearers and the building up of the saints, and to send the encouragement and breakthrough you have asked for.

We have also known affliction beyond our power to bear, as the apostle spoke of in Asia, and we have learned that God permits this so that we trust not in ourselves but in Him who raises the dead. And we remember that love is greater than all gifts and knowledge and even martyrdom, and that those who suffered before us endured not accepting deliverance because they looked for a better resurrection. So we pray that your love may abound and that your hope may be set fully on that resurrection, while you continue to seek deliverance and healing in this life according to His mercy.

May the Lord keep you, give you peace and joy and all the fruit of the Spirit, and be glorified in a mighty way in your lives. We pray all this in the holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
