Lord,

I come to You today with a heavy and wounded heart. You know the words that were spoken, the pain they caused, and the things I cannot even put into words.

Lord, I especially pray for my husband. Please touch his heart and calm his spirit. When he is angry, help him choose words that do not hurt. Soften his heart, give him wisdom, patience, and understanding.

Lord, I also ask You to guard my own heart and mouth. I don't want to answer hurt with hurt. Give me the strength to remain silent when silence is needed, and give me the right words when the time comes to speak.

Please help us not to blame each other for everything that has happened. Help us remember that we are husband and wife, not enemies. Where there is anger, bring peace. Where there is resentment, bring healing. Where there is hopelessness, give us hope.

You know our financial struggles, our worries, and everything we are carrying. Please make a way where we cannot see one. Provide for our needs and give us wisdom to make better decisions together.

Lord, tonight I surrender my husband, our marriage, our problems, and my wounded heart to You.

I cannot fix everything, but I know You can work in hearts.

Please heal what is hurting, restore what is broken, and lead us back to peace.

In Jesus' name,
Amen. 🙏🤍

We hear the pain in your heart and we join you in bringing your wounded heart, your husband, and your marriage before the throne of grace. The Lord knows the words that were spoken and the hurt that words can leave behind, and He is near to you even now. As it is written, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3.

We are encouraged by your desire not to answer hurt with hurt and to guard your own heart and mouth. That is the wisdom God calls us to. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1, and we are called to let no corrupt speech proceed out of our mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29. We pray you will continue to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger James 1:19. We also stand with you in praying for your husband, for marriage is a holy covenant before God between a man and a woman for life, and God calls husbands to love their wives and not be bitter against them Colossians 3:19, and to love their wives even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25. Where there has been anger and wounding words, we pray God will soften his heart, give him wisdom and patience, and help you both to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32, remembering you are one flesh and not enemies.

We also lift up the heavy burden of financial worry you are carrying. Our Father knows your needs and He invites you to cast all your cares on Him. We are reminded not to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. And we trust His promise that our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, as He makes a way where you cannot see one and gives wisdom to make better decisions together.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift up this dear wife and her husband and their marriage to You. Lord, You see her wounded heart and You collect every tear. Touch her heart tonight and hold her close, heal what is hurting and bind up what is broken. Guard her heart and her mouth, give her strength to remain silent when silence is needed and give her gentle, gracious words when it is time to speak. Lord, we also lift up her husband to You, touch his heart and calm his spirit. Soften him, take away anger and harsh words, and fill him with Your wisdom, patience, understanding and self control. Help him to love his wife as You have called him to love her, with tenderness and honor. Forgive them both where they have blamed one another, and help them to forgive each other. Where there is anger bring Your peace, where there is resentment bring Your healing, where there is hopelessness breathe new hope. Lord, You know their financial struggles and worries, please provide for their needs, open doors that no man can shut, and give them unity and godly wisdom to steward what You provide. We surrender this marriage, this husband, these problems and this wounded heart into Your hands, for we cannot fix everything but You can work in hearts and restore what is broken. Lead them back to peace and to deeper love for You and for one another. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to surrender your marriage daily to the Lord, to pray together when possible, and to seek peace and pursue it. Keep choosing forgiveness and gentle words, and do not let the sun go down while you are still angry Ephesians 4:26. If you have a trusted pastor or wise believing couple, invite them to pray with you and counsel you in the Word. Come to Him when you are weary and burdened, for He has promised to give you rest Matthew 11:28. We are trusting with you that He who began a good work in you and in your marriage will be faithful to complete it and to restore what is broken for His glory.

We hear how heavy and wounded your heart feels right now, and how sincerely you want to love your husband well even while you are hurting. Thank you for bringing your marriage, your finances, and your own words and silence to the Lord so honestly. That place of surrender you named, that you cannot fix everything but God can work in hearts, is a steady place to stand when everything feels fragile.

Living with sharp words and ongoing financial pressure wears down any of us. It helps to remember that anger often carries other feelings underneath it, like hurt over what was said, frustration about present stresses, or fear about what is ahead. When we can gently notice what is underneath the anger in ourselves, and wonder about what might be underneath it for our spouse, we are less likely to react to the heat of the moment and more able to choose a healthier response.

One small step that helps many couples is to decide ahead of time what you will do when tension rises, since it is hard to think clearly once anger has taken over. You might agree together on a simple pause signal that means we will take a short break to calm down and pray, then come back to talk when we can listen well. That kind of plan protects both of you from answering hurt with hurt and gives space for the right words at the right time.

Father, we lift this wife and her husband to You. Hold her wounded heart, calm his spirit, and guard both of their mouths. Bring peace where there is anger, healing where there is resentment, and hope where things feel stuck. Provide for their needs and give them wisdom to make decisions together. Lead them back to kindness and unity as husband and wife. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and the sorrow and heaviness with which you come before the Lord is not hidden from Him. He knows the words that were spoken, the pain they caused, and the grief that lies too deep for words, and He is near to the brokenhearted.

There is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. This is the blessed whisper that drives away despair. Whatever has been done or said on either side, however wounded your heart may be, there is forgiveness with Him through Jesus Christ alone. He blots out transgressions for His own sake and remembers sins no more. The record of debt is nailed to the cross, and when He forgives, it is absolute and eternal, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Come then as that poor man who lay before Jesus, hoping and expecting both forgiveness and healing, and believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself. It is to be had now, at this moment, by repentance and faith in Christ, the Just who died for the unjust to bring us to God.

And with forgiveness comes healing. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue to change the heart and renew the life. Where there is anger, He can bring peace. Where there is resentment, He can bring healing. Where there is hopelessness, He can give hope.

I will pray for you and for your husband, and for your marriage as God has ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. May the Lord touch his heart and calm his spirit, soften him, and give him wisdom, patience and understanding, that in anger he may choose words that do not wound. May the Lord guard your own heart and mouth, that you may not answer hurt with hurt, giving you strength to remain silent when silence is needed and to speak with grace and truth when the time comes to speak. Pray for one another and forgive one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. This is the joint work of love in a Christian home, to forgive freely because you have been so freely forgiven.

Do not regard one another as enemies, but as husband and wife, one flesh before God. Lay aside blame, and seek together the peace that comes from pardoning grace. The Lord knows your financial struggles and every burden you carry. He knows where you cannot see a way, and He is able to provide for your needs and to give you wisdom to make better decisions together in honesty and unity.

You have done well to surrender your husband, your marriage, your problems and your wounded heart to Him. You cannot fix everything, but He can work in hearts. He first forgives, and then He heals. Trust Him to heal what is hurting, to restore what is broken, and to lead you both back to peace.

May the Lord hear your cry, forgive your sins through the blood of Christ, pour His healing into your home, supply your needs according to His riches, and keep you both in His perfect peace as you look to Him.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Saviour, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The Lord has heard the cry of your wounded heart, and your prayer has been lifted before Him with care. You have done well to bring your husband, your marriage, and your pain to Him, for He alone can work in hearts when we cannot fix what is broken.

Your desire not to answer hurt with hurt is pleasing to God. Scripture warns that keeping anger and remembering injuries is the practice of a soul trained in evil, even while a moment of anger may pass quickly. The call is to follow peace with all people and to pursue holiness, and for those who are married this holiness is guarded by living faithfully and purely within the covenant you have made. Marriage itself is honorable, and God gave it to preserve you both in love and faithfulness, not to make you enemies but to make you one.

When words have wounded you, two thoughts rise up within, one urging revenge and the other urging endurance. Let the peace of God act as umpire in your heart. That peace is not the peace that comes from winning an argument or from making the other suffer, but the steadfast peace that God Himself made with us when He reconciled us to Himself. Where human peace comes from avenging, the peace of Christ comes from enduring, forgiving, and speaking the truth in love. This is why the Church prays again and again for peace, for peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy in the home.

I pray for you and for your husband together.

Lord Jesus Christ, You see this sister in her pain and You know the words that have wounded her and the burdens she cannot express. Touch her heart and guard her mouth, give her strength to be silent when silence is needed and to speak with grace when the time comes. Touch her husband also, calm his spirit, soften his heart, and grant him wisdom, patience and understanding, that he may choose words that heal rather than hurt. Take away anger and resentment and set peace in its place. Help them not to blame one another but to remember they are husband and wife, joined together by Your design for a lifelong covenant. Where there is hopelessness, give hope. You know their financial struggles and worries, provide for their needs, make a way where they see no way, and give them wisdom to make decisions together in unity. Heal what is hurting, restore what is broken, and lead them back to peace.

Continue to bring your heart to Him daily, to pray, to forgive as you have been forgiven, and to seek peace even when it is difficult. God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun, and He will not abandon those who trust in His Son.
