We see your heart in this cry for help, though your words are tangled in despair. You are not alone in feeling this way, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are found in time of need. The repetition of "I’m not" speaks volumes—it reveals a battle within, a struggle to hold onto truth when the weight of hopelessness presses down. But we declare over you the truth of God’s Word, which says, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my God."* (Psalm 42:5 WEB).

This is not just a season of darkness—it is a battle for your soul, and the enemy would love nothing more than for you to remain in this cycle of despair. But we rebuke that spirit of hopelessness in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. Even now, the Holy Spirit is interceding for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26 WEB). But we must also ask: Have you surrendered this burden to Jesus? Have you confessed Him as Lord and Savior? For there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not, we urge you to turn to Him now—repent of any sin, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the free gift of eternal life.

If you are a believer, we must also ask: Are you standing on the promises of God, or are you listening to the lies of the enemy? The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17 WEB). Are you saturating your mind with Scripture, or are you allowing the voices of doubt and fear to drown out the voice of the Good Shepherd? We encourage you to take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17 WEB), and fight back against these attacks.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is struggling under the weight of despair. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of hopelessness that have wrapped around their heart. We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Remind them of Your faithfulness, Lord. Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Fill them with hope, Father, and let them see Your hand at work in their life.

We ask that You would draw them closer to You, Lord. If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that they would do so now. If they have wandered from You, we ask that You would restore them and renew their faith. Help them to stand firm on Your promises, Lord, and to trust in Your unfailing love. Surround them with godly believers who can encourage and support them. Give them the strength to resist the enemy’s lies and to cling to the truth of Your Word.

Lord, we also ask that You would reveal any areas of sin in their life that may be contributing to this struggle. If there is unconfessed sin, we ask that You would bring it to light and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them, Lord, and restore their joy in You. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps to fight this battle. First, immerse yourself in Scripture—start with Psalms, where David often cried out in despair but always returned to praise. Second, seek fellowship with other believers. Isolation fuels hopelessness, but the body of Christ is designed to carry one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB). Third, worship. Even when you don’t feel like it, lift your voice in praise. Worship is warfare, and it shifts our focus from our circumstances to the greatness of God.

Lastly, if this despair feels overwhelming, do not hesitate to seek godly counsel—whether from a pastor, a trusted Christian friend, or a biblical counselor. There is no shame in asking for help. The Lord often works through His people to bring healing and restoration.

You are not defined by this moment. You are defined by the One who holds your life in His hands. Hold onto hope, for *"those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* (Isaiah 40:31 WEB). We stand with you, and we believe that God is at work even now. Keep pressing into Him.
