We join with you in gratitude to our Heavenly Father for this beautiful day and for His mercy that is new every morning, and we stand with you in prayer for deliverance, freedom, peace and rest.
We hear your cry for mercy as these attacks feel like they are growing worse, and we want to remind you that our Lord sees your struggle and He has not left you without authority and hope. Jesus said in Luke 10:19, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. That authority is not our own but is given to us through Jesus Christ, and when we submit to God and resist the enemy, he must flee as James 4:7 tells us, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
The enemy wants you to feel overwhelmed and without peace, but God promises a different reality for His children. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And Jesus Himself says in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. We pray that this guarding peace would settle upon you now.
We also join you in thanking God for His forgiveness and in asking Him to heal any unforgiveness in your heart. Scripture assures us in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Because of the blood of Jesus shed for us, we can come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy. And as we have been forgiven so freely, we are called to forgive others as well. As it says in Mark 11:25, Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions. And in Ephesians 4:32, And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. We pray the Holy Spirit will soften your heart where there has been hurt and help you release any bitterness, so that you may walk in the freedom Christ intends, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty as in 2 Corinthians 3:17, and in John 8:36, If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
We know the battle can feel heavy, but we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces as Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, and God has given us His armor to stand firm. He also promises in Psalm 34:17, The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. He is faithful to deliver you.
We pray together with you now.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy and for this day You have made. We come before You together in the precious name of Jesus Christ, and we ask for Your mercy and grace to cover our brother in Christ. Lord, we ask You to rebuke every evil attack and every work of the enemy that has come against him, and to remove it by Your power. Grant him deliverance, freedom, deep rest and Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Forgive his sins as he confesses them before You, cleanse him from all unrighteousness, and heal any place of unforgiveness in his heart, helping him to forgive as You have forgiven him. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, strengthen him to stand firm, to resist the devil, and to walk in the authority You have given him in Christ. Let him know he is more than a conqueror through Him who loved us. We thank You that nothing can separate us from Your love. We trust You to keep him, to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and to lead him into rest. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
