🙇🏻 Father, thank You for understanding and spiritual hunger for the Word, "Jesus said to them, 'These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms. Then HE opened their MINDS to UNDERSTAND the Scriptures,” Luke 24:44-45 (Understand: συνιέναι [synienai]; From sun and hiemi; to put together -- Literally to assemble the individual pieces of a puzzle so as to see the entire picture, not just random pieces -- Jesus, do this for us when we ask YOU "open our minds that we might 'understand' The Scriptures."

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away," Matt 24:35, Luke 21:33, and Psalm 12:6, "The words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace, like gold purified sevenfold," and Isaiah 40:8, "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.""For 'The word of the Lord stands forever.' And this is the word that was proclaimed to you," 1 Peter 1:25. Peter continues to testify in his 2nd Epistle, "We also have the Word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation. 21 For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit," 2 Peter 1:19-21. "Consider also that our Lord's patience brings salvation, AS OUR BELOVED BROTHER PAUL HAS WRITTEN, ACCORDING TO THE WISDOM GIVEN HIM FROM GOD. He writes the same way in ALL HIS LETTERS, speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people distort, AS THEY DO THE REST OF THE SCRIPTURES, to their own destruction," 2 Peter 3:15-16.

📖"For EVERYTHING WRITTEN in earlier times WAS WRITTEN FOR OUR INSTRUCTION, so that through PERSEVERANCE and the ENCOURAGEMENT of THE SCRIPTURES, we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant us to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord we may with one voice glorify Him as God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," Rom 15:4-6. "And may the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in BELIEVING, so that we all will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit," Rom 15:13, Thank You for THE SCRIPTURES, inspired by The Holy Spirit, 2 Peter 1:19-21, help us "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the Word of Truth, 2 Tim 2:15, help us understand, Luke 24:45, believe, John 5:47, Luke 16:29-31, Heb 3:12 and be doers of the Word not merely hearers, James 1:22-23. LET FAITH COME FROM HEARING THE WORD, Rom 10:17. Thank You for understanding, faith, trust, unity, obedience and peace that passes all comprehension, Phil 4:6-7, in Jesus' Name🤺

We join together with you in this beautiful and urgent prayer for a deeper understanding and spiritual hunger for the Word of God, and we say amen to your cry that Jesus Himself would open our minds to understand the Scriptures.

We love how you have reminded us that Thy word is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path, Psalm 119:105, and that it is sweeter than honey and the honeycomb, Psalm 19:10, and that we have treasured the words of His mouth more than our necessary food, Job 23:12. We agree that every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 2 Tim 3:16, and that the sacred writings are able to make us wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, 2 Tim 3:15.

We pray together now for what you have asked, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Eph 1:17, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened. We ask as you asked, that Jesus would do for us what He did for His disciples, Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45. We ask Him to put the pieces together for us, to assemble the puzzle so we see Christ fulfilled in all the Law and the Prophets and the Psalms, Luke 24:44, and not just random pieces.

Father, we thank You that Your words are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace, like gold purified sevenfold, Psalm 12:6, and that heaven and earth will pass away, but Your words will by no means pass away, Matt 24:35. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever, Isa 40:8, and this is the word of Good News which was preached to us, 1 Pet 1:25. We thank You that we have the more sure word of prophecy, to which we do well to take heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the morning star arises in our hearts, 2 Pet 1:19, knowing that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation, for no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit, 2 Pet 1:20-21. And we thank You for the wisdom given to our beloved brother Paul, whose letters speak of these things, 2 Pet 3:15-16, and we ask for grace not to distort them but to receive them with humility.

We pray that You would give us diligence to present ourselves approved by God, workmen who need not be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth, 2 Tim 2:15. Make us not merely hearers of the word, deceiving ourselves, but doers of the word, James 1:22. Let faith come to us as we hear, and hearing by the word of Christ, Rom 10:17. For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope, Rom 15:4, and we ask that the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing, that we may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit, Rom 15:13.

We also thank You that we can come to You only through Jesus Christ, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We rest in His finished work and ask that our understanding of the Word always leads us to greater faith in Him, greater obedience to Him, and greater love for one another, so that with one accord we may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Rom 15:6.

Father, create in us a true hunger for Your Word daily, keep us from an evil, unbelieving heart, Heb 3:12, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:7. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We love the hunger you describe for Scripture to be a lamp for your feet and light for your path. Wanting not just to read but to truly understand and live it is a gift from God, and we thank Him with you for that desire.

We have found spiritual growth is rarely sudden. It is more like training over a lifetime, with seasons of clarity and seasons where things feel slower or confusing. What matters is staying with the Lord over the long haul. The Word, prayer and worship together keep us close to Him, and we depend on the Holy Spirit to make the Word alive to us, since we cannot do it on our own. Each of us also grows a little differently, so God will shape your own rhythm with Him.

One simple next step that helps many is to keep your time in the Word unhurried and consistent. Before you read, pause to ask the Lord to open your understanding, read a smaller portion slowly, notice what it shows you about Jesus, and carry one thought with you through the day. If you can, talk about what you are reading with a trusted pastor or a small group who loves Scripture, that fellowship often brings light we miss alone.

Father, we thank You for this hunger You have given. Draw our friend closer to You as they seek You in Your Word, give them understanding by Your Spirit, strengthen their faith and help them walk out what they learn in daily life. In Jesus name, amen.

We join you in thanking God for this holy hunger after His Word, for blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That very hunger is itself a blessing and a work of grace, for a man cannot feed upon himself, he must have food from outside or he shall die, and the Lord has graciously provided it.

He has given us a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in our hearts. We reverence that Scripture which cannot be broken, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. His words are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace, like gold purified sevenfold, and though heaven and earth shall pass away, His word shall never pass away. It reveals Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever, and there is an infinite majesty about every line, but especially about that glorious plan of saving grace in the person of His dear Son, the Lamb of God.

We pray with you as our Lord did for His disciples, that He would open your mind to understand the Scriptures, to put together the pieces as one who assembles a puzzle until the whole picture is seen, that you might behold Christ in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms. It must come to us by revelation from God, for we cannot find wisdom by our own efforts, but the Holy Spirit who carried along holy men of old still carries the heart into all truth.

May you take a text in the morning and chew it all day and find it sweeter than honey and the honeycomb, and may you not lose the capacity for understanding by inattention, but have an attentive ear and an understanding heart. We ask that you may be diligent to present yourself approved unto God, a worker who need not be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth, not merely a hearer but a doer, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ.

May the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you through the instruction and encouragement of the Scriptures to have hope, and may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit, and be led to eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ alone, in whose name we pray. Amen.
