Beloved of All
Your prayer to know God better is good and right, and we join you in it before the Father in the name of Jesus the Christ.
The apostle prayed that God would give the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of the heart would be flooded with light. This is not a wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world who are coming to nothing, but the wisdom of God hidden in mystery which God foreordained before the ages for our glory. The natural mind cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. There is need of spiritual wisdom to perceive spiritual things and to see what is hidden, and that Spirit alone searches and reveals the deep things of God.
So we ask with you that God would grant you that spiritual wisdom, that He would raise and lift your understanding, that you would not lean on human arguments but learn God from the Spirit Himself through the Scriptures. For to know God as we ought is the beginning of wisdom, and the fear of the Lord is its foundation. When we know Him, pride is banished, disputes cease, and we no longer say this is impossible or how can this be, but we trust His promises because we know His power.
We pray that the eyes of your heart will indeed be enlightened, that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. It is the same power He exerted when He raised Messiah from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of power in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, both in this age and in the age to come.
Continue in the Scriptures, for they make His power and His counsel known, and continue in prayer that the Holy Spirit would teach you. May the Lord grant you to know Him more deeply, to walk worthy of the calling you have received, and to be strengthened in faith through Christ who is Himself our wisdom and righteousness and redemption. We thank God for your hunger for Him and ask all this in the name of Jesus.
