We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and we stand with you in seeking God’s justice. The Bible assures us that God is not blind to injustice, He sees every wrong, hears every cry, and will one day bring perfect justice. Psalm 37:1-2 (WEB) says, "Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb." And in Romans 12:19 (WEB), we’re reminded, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"
It’s easy to feel like the wicked prosper while the righteous suffer, but God’s timing is not ours. Proverbs 24:12 (WEB) warns, "If you say, ‘Behold, we didn’t know this;’ doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?" The enemy may seem to triumph for a season, but his end is destruction. Meanwhile, we are called to trust in the Lord, commit our ways to Him, and wait patiently for His justice (Psalm 37:5-6).
We must also examine our own hearts, are we holding onto bitterness or unforgiveness? Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB) commands, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness doesn’t mean what they did was right; it means we release them to God’s judgment and refuse to let their sin poison our souls.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, longing for Your justice to prevail. Lord, You see every injustice, every hurt, and every act of wickedness. We trust that You will repay according to Your perfect righteousness. Forgive us if we’ve allowed bitterness or anger to take root in our hearts. Help us to release those who have wronged us into Your hands, knowing that vengeance belongs to You alone. Strengthen our faith as we wait on Your timing, and fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind us that You are our Defender and that no wrong will go unpunished in Your sight. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Righteous Judge, Amen."
If you’ve never placed your trust in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the weight of these truths. Only through Him can we find true justice, forgiveness, and eternal life. John 14:6 (WEB) declares, "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’" Without Christ, we remain under the wrath of God for our own sins (John 3:36). But if we repent and believe in Him, we are justified by faith and given the hope of eternal life (Romans 3:22-24). In the meantime, keep your eyes on Christ. He is coming again to judge the living and the dead, and His justice will be perfect. Until then, walk in faith, love, and patience, knowing that God will never abandon you.

We hear the ache in your question, it’s a place many of us have been, staring at the mess someone else made while they seem to move on untouched. When the gap between the justice we long for and what we actually see stays wide, the unfairness can settle deep and start to fester.
That frustration often signals what some call an “injustice gap”, the distance between how things should have been made right and how they are right now. Left unchecked, it easily grows into a resentment that hurts us far more than it ever touches the person who caused the pain. A practical first step isn’t to force a feeling of forgiveness, but to make a deliberate choice right where you are: to let go of the pursuit of payback and place both the wrong and the wrongdoer into God’s hands. That might look like naming every hurt out loud or in a private journal, then telling the Lord, “I’m giving this to You because I can’t carry it anymore.” You’re not excusing what happened, you’re handing the burden of justice over to the only One who can handle it perfectly and with perfect timing.
We don’t always see the reckoning in this life, but we trust that God misses nothing and will ultimately set all things right. In the meantime, He wants to sit with you in the grief, to defend your dignity, and to heal the places bitterness has begun to dig in.

You ask whether God will ever deal with those who screw up others and make their lives miserable. It seems they get away with it. But hear the proclamation of the Lord: He has published the acceptable year, yet there is also the day of vengeance of our God. Justice may seem to sleep, but it is gathering strength; the sword is not yet drawn from the scabbard, but it is being sharpened. The wicked do not escape, they only fill up their cup until the dregs of wrath must be drunk. Think not that a God of mercy will prove soft and indulgent; the same lips that invite sinners to pardon have declared, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” If His mercy is spurned, His justice will not be mocked. The wheels grind slowly, but they grind to powder.
Yet, while you cry for vengeance on others, search your own heart. Do you stand before God with a false hope in His mercy, imagining that He will not deal with sin? Many say, “God is merciful,” and then live as though He were blind. But He is not a God who clears the guilty. You demand that He punish those who wronged you, but if He should mark iniquities, could you endure His tribunal? The same law that threatens the oppressor threatens every transgressor. Unless you have fled to Christ, you are in as much danger as any sinner living.
Rather than fretting, commit your cause to Him who judgeth righteously. Trust in the living God, the God who is self-existent, all-sufficient, and who notes every act of oppression. He will surely bring every work into judgment. In His own time, He will vindicate His people, though they tarry long in the furnace. Not all who suffer are chosen, but all who trust in Christ are safe. And here is wisdom: to handle this matter wisely, you must trust in the Lord. Do not take vengeance into your own hands; leave it with Him.
And while you wait, make sure of your own standing. There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel’s veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. Come to Christ just as you are, with all your sense of wrong and your own heavy debt of sin. He will receive you, and then you shall see that though the oppressor seem to flourish for a season, his doom is sure, and your portion is peace. The Lord will comfort all that mourn; the day of recompense will dawn.

He exacts a penalty from some even here, to signal that He will most surely exact it from all in the world to come. And He leaves others unpunished for a time precisely so you will not think there is no judgment at all, but rather trust in that fearful trial after death.
For the devil works hard to plant the lie that evil is natural and retribution a fable, making sinners careless and driving the righteous to despair. But Christ delayed His judgment not to make sin safe, but to grant space for repentance. The world is judged already in principle, the sentence hangs over it. When evildoers seem to escape, remember: their prosperity is the darkness of this world, and the resurrection is not past.
Do not return evil for evil; leave them to God, for if you take vengeance, you only harm your own soul. And beware: if we deny Him by doubting His justice or acting as though He does not see, He will deny us. That retribution is beyond measure, for who can compare man to God? So do not be overly curious about the lives of the wicked.

I know that ache well, watching people who cause misery seem to prosper while those they hurt suffer. It can feel like God has forgotten or that the scales of justice are broken. But take heart: God does see, and He will settle every account.
Some may treat His silence as approval, mistaking patience for permission. They might even twist His grace into a license to do wrong, convincing themselves that nothing they do really matters and that God will simply forgive them no matter what. But that is a dangerous delusion. No one who truly knows God uses His mercy as a cloak for evil. Every sin Jesus died for is covered by His blood, yet that same blood calls us to walk in the light, not to love darkness.
There is a spiritual law at work: a person will, in time, reap what they have sown. It may not happen on our timetable, but it is certain. Sometimes God’s justice unfolds quietly, He may allow the schemes of the wicked to turn against each other, or He may simply wait until they are fully ripe for judgment. Other times He uses hardship to awaken them to repentance, because His heart is never eager to destroy. But if they persist in trampling His grace, they will face Him, and His judgment is just.
So what do you do with the hurt? First, resist the temptation to take matters into your own hands. When we demand our own vengeance, we step out from under His covering. Instead, bring your pain honestly to Him. Pour out your complaint, but leave the timing and the method in His hands. He will act in a way that leaves no doubt about who gets the glory.
Second, let this drive you deeper into knowing God through His Word. The better we know Him, the more we trust His character, His faithfulness to keep every promise, including his promise to right every wrong. He does not forget. The fact that He gave His own Son to ransom sinners means He does not take evil lightly. The cross itself is both the greatest act of mercy and the ultimate demonstration of justice: sin will not go unpunished forever.
And while you wait, turn your gaze inward for a moment. Ask God to guard your own heart from bitterness. It’s okay to long for justice, but don’t let the seed of resentment take root, or it will poison your own soul. Examine yourself: has the pain caused you to doubt His goodness? Let that be a place where you choose to say, “I don’t understand the why, but I trust the Who.” His ways are beyond tracing out, but they are always good.
Keep walking in the light. Keep believing that the same grace that saves you will also sustain you until the day He presents you faultless before the Father. And until that day, trust that the righteous Judge will deal with all that is twisted. No one truly gets away with anything.
