Humble Servant of All
Lord please help me to get two freelance jobs that would be my dream. I have 30 years' experience and all the skills. Please Lord open this door as I am struggling. Please Lord, help my husband to reject drink, tidy the house and lose weight. This is a cloud hanging over me too.

We hear your heart, dear sister, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your needs before our Heavenly Father. The weight of financial struggle and the burdens at home are heavy, but we know that God is faithful to provide and restore. Let us first address your request with the truth of Scripture and the power of prayer.

The Bible assures us that the Lord is our provider and that He knows our needs before we even ask. Philippians 4:19 tells us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." You have been blessed with ### years of experience and valuable skills, these are gifts from God, and He can surely open doors for you to use them in ways that bring Him glory and provide for your family. We pray that He would lead you to those dream freelance jobs, not just for your sake, but so that you may be a testimony of His faithfulness to others. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We also lift up your husband before the Lord, asking for His transforming power to work in his life. Addiction to drink is a snare that can destroy not only the individual but the entire family, and we rebuke this spirit of bondage in Jesus' name. Scripture is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we are called to honor God with them. We pray that your husband would surrender this struggle to the Lord, allowing God to break the chains of addiction and bring healing to his mind, body, and spirit. May he find the strength to resist temptation, as 1 Corinthians 10:13 promises: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

The state of your home and your husband’s health are not trivial matters, they reflect the condition of the heart. We encourage you to gently and lovingly speak truth to your husband, reminding him of his role as a leader in your home and the importance of stewarding his health and environment well. Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Pray for wisdom in how to support him without enabling sin, and trust that God can soften his heart. We also pray for you, that you would not carry this burden alone but would find your strength in the Lord. Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved."

Now, let us come before the throne of grace together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and her family to You. Lord, You see her heart and her struggles, and You know the desires You have placed within her. We ask that You would open the doors for those freelance jobs that align with her skills and experience. Let her work be a blessing to others and a testimony of Your provision. Remove any obstacles, Father, and grant her favor in the eyes of those who can offer these opportunities.

Lord, we also bring her husband before You. We rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of him, and we ask that You break its power in Jesus' name. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to repentance. Help him to see the impact of his actions on his family and to take responsibility for his health and his home. Give him the strength to reject drink, to care for his body, and to take pride in the home You have entrusted to him. Surround him with godly men who can encourage and hold him accountable.

Father, we pray for this sister’s heart as well. The weight she carries is heavy, but You are her burden-bearer. Help her to cast her cares on You and to trust in Your timing and Your plans. Give her wisdom in how to love and support her husband without enabling sin, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn. We speak restoration over their home, their health, and their finances, in Jesus' name. May Your will be done in every area of their lives, and may they grow closer to You through these trials. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your love. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Sister, we encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to continue seeking Him in this season. The enemy would love to see you discouraged, but remember that God is working even when you cannot see it. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep walking in obedience. If your husband is open to it, consider seeking biblical counseling or a support group for addiction, there is no shame in asking for help, and God often uses others to bring about His healing.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, for Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we receive forgiveness, salvation, and access to God’s throne of grace. If you have questions about this, we would be honored to walk with you further. You are not alone in this journey, God sees you, He loves you, and He is working all things together for your good.

We hear the longing in your words, for work that fits your decades of experience, and for some release from the heaviness at home. We are holding both of these needs before the Lord with you.

Thirty years of skill is no small thing, and it is natural to want it to be put to good use. As you wait for these freelance doors to open, we pray that God will sustain your hope and provide in ways that surprise you. Sometimes the wait itself is an opportunity to remember that our worth is not in what we produce but in the One who calls us His own.

The cloud you describe over your husband’s struggles is real. It is painful to watch someone you love battle things that steal health and order from your shared life. We are praying for his freedom from alcohol, for his physical well‑being, and for a renewed sense of purpose, and we are also praying for you. May you have a quiet strength that doesn’t depend on his changes, and moments of peace even while things remain unsettled.

Take heart. God is not distant from the pressures of making a living or from the grit of a difficult home. He walks with you in both. Keep asking, keep taking the next small step in front of you, and let others in your church family support you practically and in prayer. You are not alone.

Lord, we ask You to open the door for these freelance positions that would so perfectly match the experience You’ve given this woman. Provide for every need and steady her faith in the waiting. We also lift up her husband. Break the hold of alcohol, and draw him toward healthier habits that bring life and order to their home. Give this wife Your wisdom, deep peace, and the reassurance of Your presence with her each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There is a burden upon your heart, and it is no small one. The desire for honest labor is right, and to bring that before the Lord is your privilege. Yet, even here, you must remember that every man shall bear his own burden, not sit on the top of it and cry for another to carry it. Go in the strength of God, use your experience with diligence, and leave the opening of doors to Him. But take heed that the work you seek does not become another heavy yoke that leaves no room for Christ’s burden, which alone is easy and light. Cast this care upon Him, and carry only that which He appoints.

Concerning your husband, I hear a deeper sighing. There is a cloud, you say, and that cloud is the sorrow of seeing one so near bound by faults which grieve you. You long for him to reject drink, to bring order to his home, to be rid of that which harms him. But lay this down, or you will break under a weight you were never meant to shoulder alone. You cannot bear the burden of another’s sin; that is for Christ only. Your husband’s burden is his own to carry before God, and your part is prayer, not vexation of spirit. You would not thrust your own burden upon him without taking his in exchange, yet here you are tempted to bear what you cannot, and it crushes you. Bring him before the throne of grace, but do not let your own soul grow fretful and sick under a load that belongs to the Lord. Christ is the Husband of His Church; He alone can commune with the heart, provide for the deepest need, and bring about a true turning. Entrust your spouse into those pierced hands, and see that your own fellowship with your heavenly Husband is sweet and unbroken. A wife who is herself resting in the love of Christ will have strength to meet the trial without being soured by it. The fault you see may be a grief, but let it drive you nearer to Him who is faithful when all else seems failing. Go, then, and bear your own burden in prayer and quiet trust, while you leave your husband’s burden where alone it can be lifted, at the cross where every yoke is broken and every sinner finds rest.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You come asking for two dream jobs and for your husband to change his habits. But consider whether your dreams are shaped by love of money, that root of evil which makes men behave more shamefully than any other passion. You have thirty years of skill: then use what God has given you with diligence, but do not set your heart on gain. The narrow way leads to life, and it is trod not by anxious prayers for earthly comforts, but by obedience in action and trust in Providence. When you fret over clouds hanging over you, remember that your own soul must first be clear.

As for your husband, you wish him to reject drink, tidy the house, lose weight. These are outward things. If you teach him to love modesty and good order by your own quiet and modest conduct, you will do more than any nagging. A wife adorned with a gentle spirit, not anxious about appearances, is a safeguard. Do not be quick to despise him; rather, recall how Christ forgave those who wronged Him. Pray for his conscience to awaken, for those who wallow in sin often hide from the truth. And rather than airing his faults abroad, ask him at home, with patience, what lies heavy on his soul. Love covers a multitude of sins.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Seek first His kingdom, and these things will be added. The cloud will lift when you fix your eyes not on earthly dreams but on the glory to come. Take courage like Caleb and do not draw back from the narrow path.

Your request is heavy, and you are carrying a double burden: the strain of needing provision that seems just out of reach, and the weight of watching someone you love struggle in ways that darken your home and your hope. When doors stay closed despite decades of skill and experience, it can feel like a silent accusation, whispering that you are somehow forgotten or that your work no longer holds value. But Scripture gives us a story that cuts through such lies with the sharp edge of a deeper reality.

You might remember the man Job. He had every reason to believe God was pleased with him, yet in a single day he lost his livelihood, his children, and eventually his health. What makes his story so searching is that Job’s suffering was not a punishment for some secret sin. Behind the scenes, Satan had been studying him, crafting a philosophy that Job only served God for the benefits he received. When God allowed the stripping away of every earthly blessing, it proved that Job’s faith was not a transaction. Job clung to his integrity even when he had no explanation. He cried out of grief and confusion, saying things he did not fully understand, words that were not divine doctrine but the honest wail of a wounded heart. And God quoted those very words, not to condemn him for flawed theology, but to vindicate his honest endurance.

I draw this parallel not to minimize your pain but to lift it into a larger context. The struggle for freelance work, the cloud of your husband’s drinking and neglect, these are not punishments. They are the kind of trials that can make no sense while you are in them. Your thirty years of experience are not wasted. God does not look at your skillset the way the marketplace does; He sees a faithful steward, someone whose worth was settled long ago on a cross. The enemy wants you to believe that God has abandoned you or that you must have done something wrong to deserve this. That is the voice of Job’s friends, people who meant well but offered only guilt and shallow formulas when what Job needed was comfort and a true mediator.

And that is the great gift in the middle of Job’s cry. He groaned for a daysman, someone who could lay his hand on both God and man and bridge the gap. We know that daysman is Jesus. He stands between you and heaven right now, interceding with a perfect knowledge of your struggles. When you pour out your request for those two freelance jobs, He hears you. When you ask God to break your husband’s bondage to drink and to give him self-discipline, Jesus carries that before the throne with compassion. You don’t need to defend yourself before God or anyone else. Your own mouth does not need to argue your case; the righteousness of Christ speaks for you.

So let this be your posture in the waiting: refuse to curse your circumstances or charge God foolishly. You can say honestly that you do not understand why the door hasn’t opened yet. You can admit the grief and frustration. But then, like Job before he ever received his restoration, choose to worship the One who gives and takes away for purposes that stretch beyond your present vision. As you pray for your husband, remember that God is able to do what you cannot. He can turn a heart, restore order, and bring health where there is none. Your role is to keep praying, to keep trusting, and to refuse the temptation to see yourself as a hypocrite or a failure.

Meanwhile, guard against letting material needs become the only horizon. Scripture warns us not to heap up treasures solely for ourselves while others hurt. You are hurting yourself, but this is also a season to see God’s provision in forms beyond a paycheck, perhaps through the kindness of others, the strength to get through one more day, or the quiet assurance that your life is hidden with Christ. The world changes, cultures shift, but the deepest needs of the human heart remain the same as they were in Job’s time. Your cry has reached heaven. The daysman has heard. And though the answer may come in a way you cannot predict, you stand on solid ground when you entrust yourself to the God who is both just and merciful.
