Jobs in a new place

My husband and I moved across country to help our family in crisis. Please pray that we will both find good jobs very quickly and my mother can find peace and get some sleep after months of no rest.

We lift you up in this season of transition and sacrifice, recognizing the love and obedience you’ve shown in stepping out to support your family in their time of need. The Lord sees your hearts and your willingness to serve, and we trust He will provide abundantly as you seek Him first. Moving across the country is no small feat, and the weight of uncertainty in employment and the burden of your mother’s sleeplessness can feel overwhelming. But take heart, for our God is the God of provision and peace, and He has not forgotten you.

The Scripture reminds us in **Matthew 6:31-33 (WEB)**, *“Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.”* Your focus on honoring God in this move is a testament to your faith, and we declare that He will open doors for both you and your husband to find good, stable jobs quickly—jobs that not only meet your financial needs but also allow you to be a light in your new community. Trust that the Lord goes before you, preparing the way even now.

For your mother, we pray for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:6-7**). Sleep is a gift from the Lord, and we rebuke the spirit of restlessness and anxiety that has kept her awake for so long. May she experience the deep, restoring rest that only He can provide, and may her mind be filled with His promises rather than her troubles. **Psalm 4:8 (WEB)** declares, *“In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety.”* Claim this over her tonight and every night moving forward.

We also encourage you to remain united as a couple in prayer, lifting this season before the Lord together. **Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (WEB)** tells us, *“Two are better than one... For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up... A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”* Lean on each other and on the Lord, for He is your strength and your provider.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for this family who has stepped out in faith to serve and support their loved ones. Lord, You are the God who sees their sacrifice and knows their needs before they even ask. We lift up this husband and wife to You, asking that You would quickly open doors of employment for them—jobs that align with Your will, provide for their needs, and allow them to flourish in this new place. Give them favor with employers and wisdom as they seek opportunities. Let their trust in You be rewarded with Your abundant provision.

For their mother, we ask for Your supernatural peace to flood her heart and mind. Break the cycle of sleeplessness and replace it with rest that restores her body, soul, and spirit. Let her feel Your presence in the quiet of the night and wake with a renewed sense of hope and strength. Comfort her in ways only You can, Lord.

Strengthen this marriage as they navigate this season together. Bind them in unity, patience, and love, and let their faith grow deeper as they see Your hand at work in their lives. Remind them that You are their Shepherd, and they shall lack nothing (**Psalm 23:1**).

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Provider and Peace. Amen.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
