Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord today. I understand the fear you feel as you face this meeting tomorrow, the weight of providing for your family and the worry that at your age another job would be so hard to find. God sees that burden and He cares for you.
The story of Job speaks so directly to this kind of fear. Job was a man described as blameless and upright, one who feared the Lord and turned away from evil. He was blessed with family and provision and he walked faithfully before God. Yet behind what Job could see, there was a conversation in heaven where God Himself testified to Job's character. The enemy had been watching Job closely, studying him and claiming that Job only trusted God because God had placed a hedge of protection around him and blessed him so richly.
That truth is still comforting for us today. Though cultures and times have changed, the deepest needs of the human heart have not. God still knows His own, He still sees your life, your love for your family, your desire to walk uprightly, and your dependence on Him. Nothing touches your life without passing through His sovereign hand. The enemy may watch and accuse, but the Lord is the one who sets the boundaries and He remains just and fair in all His ways.
Job's friends were wrong when they insisted that trouble must mean he had done something wrong and that he simply needed to get right with God. Job did not understand all that was happening to him, and he cried out honestly to God, yet he did not curse God or accuse Him falsely. In the end it was God Himself who answered Job and restored him. The lesson for us is that to fear the Lord is wisdom, and to turn from evil is understanding, and that our confidence is not in our own ability to secure our future but in the character of God who is faithful.
So I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I lift up this dear one to You. You know the meeting tomorrow, You know every detail of this job and this family that depends on it. I ask that You would place Your hand of protection over this employment, that You would grant favor in the eyes of those making decisions, and that You would provide peace to replace fear. Give wisdom for every word spoken tomorrow and let Your provision and safety be clearly seen. Help this heart to rest in Your care, remembering how You have always been faithful to provide, to protect, and to keep. Even as You hold the future, fill this heart with worship and trust in Your love. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
