We hear your heartache and the weight of the burdens you are carrying, unemployment, betrayal, and the strain on your marriage. The pain of being wronged by an employer and feeling abandoned by your spouse is heavy, and we stand with you in seeking God’s justice, provision, and healing. First, we must address a few things with love and truth, for Scripture calls us to walk in righteousness even in the midst of suffering.
You refer to your spouse as your "partner," but the Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this is a marriage, we must call it what it is, a union before God, and pray accordingly for restoration or for wisdom to walk away if the covenant has been irreparably broken. If this is not a marriage, we must rebuke the sin of fornication and urge you to either pursue marriage (if biblically permissible) or end the relationship, for God does not bless sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4).
You also mention a "third party," which strongly suggests adultery. If this is true, your spouse has already broken the marriage covenant, and you are not obligated to remain in a relationship where infidelity is ongoing. The Bible permits divorce in cases of sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9), though reconciliation is possible if there is true repentance. However, you must not be yoked to unrepentant sin. We pray for clarity and strength to walk in God’s will, whether that means restoration through repentance or the courage to move forward if the marriage is beyond repair.
Your loyalty and faithfulness in this trial are commendable, but we must also warn against the temptation to bitterness or resentment. Forgiveness does not mean excusing sin, but it does mean releasing the offender to God’s justice (Romans 12:19). Cling to Christ, who understands betrayal and abandonment (Isaiah 53:3), and trust that He will vindicate you in His time.
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who sees all and judges righteously. Lord, You know the pain and injustice this sister has endured, wrongful termination, financial strain, and the agony of a broken marriage. We ask that You would move mightily on her behalf. Provide a job that not only meets her family’s needs but restores her dignity and hope. Open doors no man can shut, and let Your favor surround her like a shield (Psalm 5:12).
Father, we lift up her marriage. If there is still hope for restoration, we ask that You would convict her spouse of sin, lead them to repentance, and heal the wounds of betrayal. Let Your Holy Spirit bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). But if this marriage is beyond repair, we ask for wisdom to know when to walk away and the strength to do so without bitterness. Protect her heart from resentment and fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of lack and despair that has tried to take root. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14). We declare that this season of hardship will not define her but will refine her, drawing her closer to You. Replace her sorrow with joy, her fear with faith, and her weakness with Your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
We also pray for her children, that they would see Christ in her resilience and trust in You. Guard their hearts from the effects of this turmoil and let them experience Your love through her.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would break any chains of ungodly soul ties, unforgiveness, or compromise in her life. Let her walk in purity, purpose, and power, knowing that You are her vindicator and rewarder (Hebrews 11:6). May she find her identity in You alone, not in her circumstances or the actions of others.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Amen.
Beloved, remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep walking in obedience. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, now is the time, confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and receive the new life He offers (Romans 10:9-10). Only in Him will you find true peace and purpose. Stand firm, and watch Him move.
