Beloved of All
Your prayer of surrender is precious to the Lord and it is good to bring everything before Him just as you have done, physically, mentally, spiritually and financially. To say I surrender all and to plead the blood of Jesus over yourself and your household, past, present and future, is to come to the very heart of what God desires from His children.
Scripture shows us that God often wrestles with us because He loves us and wants to bring us to that place of complete surrender. There was a man who wrestled with God through the night and would not yield. He was strong and clever and always had a plan to escape, and that strength was actually his weakness. God had so much He wanted to do for him and through him, but He could not do it while the man trusted in his own schemes. In the end God touched him in a way that left him weak in himself, not because God wanted to hurt him, but because He wanted to crown him. He had to be brought to the end of his own strength so he would lean entirely on God's strength. That is what true surrender means, to acknowledge our weakness, to stop striving in our own wisdom, and to place our lives, our circumstances and our future fully into His hands and leave them there without taking them back to scheme again.
You have done that in your prayer, and that same surrender is to be lived out in the household as well. After that wrestling, that man called his whole family to put away anything that did not belong to the Lord, to be clean and to be changed. When we plead the blood of Jesus over our homes, we are asking for the same protection that was given when the blood covered the homes long ago and judgment passed over. Jesus said on the cross, It is finished, in John 19:30, and His finished work is our refuge and our fortress. In Him we trust, and He delivers and covers us. As you continue to walk in surrender, keep asking the Lord to show you if there is anything in your home or heart that needs to be put away, so that your house may be wholly His.
Your thanksgiving also honors Him. Scripture invites us to enter His presence with thanksgiving and praise, to serve Him with gladness and to make a joyful noise because He is good. His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures through all generations. A heart that overflows with honor, praise, worship and gratitude, as yours does, is a heart that knows how long He has been patient with us and how great His grace is, on earth as it is in heaven.
May the Lord take your surrender and establish you in His strength. May you know more and more what it is to rely not on yourself but on Him alone, to be kept under the covering of the blood of His Son, and to see His kingdom, power and glory at work in your life and in your household. May He guard you and all who dwell with you, and may your life be a continual offering of thanksgiving to the One who is worthy of all glory forever. In the name of Jesus, amen.
