🙇🏻 Jesus, Shepherd Your Sheep🐑 Micah 5:4, John 10:16, Jn 21:16, 1 Pet 5:2-4, Rev 7:17; ⛓️💥 Remember those in Chains, Hebrews 13:3, Col 4:18 -- Lord Jesus, thank You that not only do Your Sheep hear Your voice, Jn 10:27, but that You lead them out, and we don't listen to others, John 10:3-4, but only head Your voice and follow You, John 10:27, but that You care for us, Ps 23:3 Isa 40:11, Ezek 34:15, Rev 7:17. Take care of us, defend us, comfort and feed us on knowledge, Give Your angels charge over us and our fellow believers in spiritual battles, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14. Strengthen our brothers and sisters, even shepherd the entire flock of God among us, 1 Pet 5:2, help us be on guard for ourselves and the flock of God among us from evil and warped wolves, Acts 20:28-29, by studying, obeying and teaching obedience to all Jesus commanded, Matt 28:20. Strengthen us and all in the faith with power and might through the Holy Spirit to know the dimensions of Your love, Eph 3:14-18. Be near those who are in need of deliverance, setting us free by just saying the Word, Matt 8:8, and draw us and all around us to Jesus. Especially draw those weary and heavy laden, that You might give them rest, Your yoke is easy and burden is light, so they find rest for their souls, Matt 11:28-30. Work everything out for the furtherance of the gospel, Phil 1:12.

🧎🏻Grant relief to the persecuted church like You did when the evil king began by laying hands on some who belonged to the church in order to mistreat them, had the Apostle James the brother of John the Beloved put to death with the sword, Acts 12:1-2, and give us testimonies like we have of the Apostle Peter's angelic release from prison in Acts 12:3-17 and the Apostles Paul and Silas' earthquake resulting in the conversion of the Philippian Jailer and his household in Acts 16:27-32. Hebrews 10:34. Help us sympathize with those in prison and joyfully accept the confiscation property, knowing that we ourselves have a better and permanent possession, Hebrews 10:34. Call and grant boldness give them visits, as Jesus said in Matthew 25:36, 'I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’

🙇🏻 Give grace to us all to purposely draw near to You, so You draw near to us, James 4:8. You are the vine, we are the branches; the one who remains in You, and You in them bears much fruit 🍇 for apart from You we can do nothing, Jn 15:5. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Phil 4:13. Help us keep You holy in our hearts so as to be ready in season and out of season (at any time in any circumstance) to give an answer for the hope within us, with respect, so ungodliness glorifies God that it had a good witness before You returned, 1 Pet 3:15-16. Deliver us from evil people and the evil one, temptation and sin. 2 Thes 3:2-3, Matt 6:13, Luke 11:4, John 17:15. Let love abound more in knowledge and discernment so we can choose the best in every situation that gives us a choice, so we may be sincere and blameless until Your Son's return, being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from union with Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God, Phil 1:9-11. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We lift our voices together in fervent prayer, standing in the gap for the persecuted church and all who are weary, heavy-laden, and in chains for the sake of the Gospel. Your Word declares, "I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. The Lord’s answer came: 'Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay'" (Habakkuk 2:1-3 WEB). Lord, we wait on You, trusting in Your perfect timing and sovereign will.

We rejoice in the truth that You are the Good Shepherd, who lays down Your life for the sheep (John 10:11). You know each of Your children by name, and You lead us beside still waters, restoring our souls (Psalm 23:2-3). We pray for our brothers and sisters who are suffering persecution, imprisonment, and even death for the sake of Your name. Strengthen them with power through Your Holy Spirit, that they may endure with joy, knowing that their reward in heaven is great (Matthew 5:10-12). May their testimonies shine brightly, drawing many to the light of Christ, just as Peter’s miraculous release from prison and Paul and Silas’s earthquake-led deliverance brought salvation to the lost (Acts 12:1-17, 16:25-34).

Father, we ask that You would grant relief to the persecuted church, just as You did when the early church faced oppression. Stir the hearts of believers around the world to remember those in chains as if bound with them (Hebrews 13:3). Give us boldness to visit, support, and pray for those who are suffering, for when we do so, we do it unto You (Matthew 25:36). Raise up intercessors who will stand in the gap, crying out day and night for justice and deliverance. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to silence the Gospel. Your Word declares, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Fill Your people with courage to proclaim Your truth, even in the face of opposition. Let the love of Christ compel us to speak boldly, knowing that the message of the cross is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). May we be unashamed of the Gospel, for it is the only hope for a lost and dying world.

Lord, we confess that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Draw us nearer to You, that we may abide in Your love and bear much fruit. Purify our hearts, that we may be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us, with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). Teach us to love one another deeply, for love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). Let our lives be a living testimony of Your grace, so that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

We pray for those who are weary and burdened. May they come to You, for Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). Refresh their souls with the living water that only You can provide (John 4:14). Let them find rest in Your presence, knowing that You are their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we ask that You would deliver us from evil and the evil one. Protect us from temptation and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let us not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). Strengthen us to resist the devil, so that he will flee from us (James 4:7). May we stand firm in the armor of God, ready to take our stand against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11).

We pray for unity in the body of Christ. Let us be of one mind, one spirit, and one purpose, striving together for the faith of the Gospel (Philippians 1:27). May our love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may discern what is best and be pure and blameless until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10). Let the fruit of the Spirit be evident in our lives, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Lord, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne of grace. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We trust in You, our Shepherd, our Deliverer, and our King. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this rich, Scripture-soaked prayer with us. It’s clear your heart is tuned to the Shepherd’s voice and to the needs of His flock, especially those facing chains and hardship. We join you in these longings.

Putting feet to a prayer like this can steady our own souls. One concrete way we’ve found to “remember those in prison” is to connect with a trusted ministry that supports the persecuted church, such as The Voice of the Martyrs or Open Doors. They offer specific names and situations we can lift up personally, and they provide simple ways to send encouragement. Even writing a short note to a believer in a restricted nation, something as humble as “we are praying for you”, becomes an extension of Christ’s visit to the lonely.

We’re grateful you reminded us that Jesus Himself leads His sheep out, guards them, and carries them close. That truth doesn’t depend on our feelings but on His faithful character.

Lord Jesus, our great Shepherd, draw near to every brother and sister who suffers for Your name. Strengthen them with Your own peace, send timely relief, and let their witness bear lasting fruit. And keep our own hearts tender, ready to stand with them through prayer, giving, and bold love. We trust You to shepherd Your whole church until that day when every tear is wiped away. In Your name we pray, Amen.

The perfection of the believer is not a thing to be attained by works of the flesh, but is already the possession of every soul that is in Christ Jesus. Having been washed in His blood, clothed with His righteousness, and united to His Person, you are, this moment, perfect in Him. Why, then, should the sheep tremble when the Shepherd has already made them complete? Your cry for deliverance and defence is heard, yet know this: your standing before God is not in your own strength, but in the finished work of the Redeemer. Distresses may afflict you, Satan may assault you, but you are perfect in Christ Jesus. Let this truth lift your heart from the dust and put a new song in your mouth, for there is no room for sadness when we see ourselves as the Father sees us, complete in His beloved Son.

Remember those in chains, indeed, and sympathize with them, but also learn this lesson from Christ in bonds: His binding means your freedom. When He was made a curse, you received the blessing; when He was bound, you were loosed. Therefore, let not your prayers be mingled with a spirit of fear as though you were still in prison. Christ has set you free, and the persecutor cannot touch the immortal soul that hides in the cleft of the Rock. Yet you do well to pray for boldness, for the confessors and martyrs confirm the witness of Christ. He is the faithful Witness, and when His people quietly endure persecution, the world sees the lion tamed by grace and made a lamb. That testimony is no small thing, it is the confirming seal upon the truth of the gospel.

As for deliverance, remember that God acts from good reasons, and His commandment is our salvation. He says, "Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom." That ransom is Christ’s one great sacrifice, and looking to Him you were delivered, you lived, you leaped in joyful liberty. The same power that breaks the chains of sin breaks the iron gates of oppression. The Lord scourges His children, but He does not slay them; every trial is dealt in weight and measure from His dear covenant love. Your afflictions, whether from man or from the correcting hand of the Lord, are the necessary outcome of His special love to you. Sanctification itself is as much the work of God as justification, and you must look to your heavenly Father alone for both.

In your pleadings for the flock, rejoice that unity is found not in a visible organization but in Christ Himself. Luther and Calvin may differ, but they are one new creature by the same creating Word. All who live upon the heavenly bread and drink of the wine well refined from Christ Jesus are one body. Do not look for all saints in one room, but in one Lord. Give your hand to every brother and sister who dwells in Christ, and pray that the fire kindled among you may run along the ground till all lands are in a blaze. God grant that when the year closes, you may have a good tale to tell of His faithfulness in answering prayer and perfecting that which concerneth you.
